The Hidden Cost Of Dollar Tree Puzzles: A Quality Compromise?
Ойын-сауық
(Sorry for the video quality it's the last of them! This was before I switched rooms and camera settings.)
An unplanned trip to Dollar Tree ended up being a puzzle haul that didn't break the bank! Dollar Tree has a pretty good selection of very inexpensive puzzles, even Disney sets, so it's a great way to treat yourself on the cheap too. But as I like to say...you get what you pay for.
Does your Dollar Tree have a good selection of puzzles? What has your experience been with the brands that I show in the video or others you've picked up from there?

I found that some of theirs were really fun to do. The brands seem to vary a bit. I didn't enjoy the cardinal puzzles but the ArtBlock puzles were really fun. They really hit the design trends too.

Yea, in the Mickey and Minnie Mouse Cardinal puzzle review video, quality was real rough but I made the best of it. Now you got me excited for the ArtBox sets lol! I have to make another trip to Dollar Tree soon, so I'm really hoping I can resist the temptation to pick up some more.
OF COURSE, I HAVE DOG PUZZLES FROM DOLLAR TREE......LOL!! I GOT THEM YEARS AGO, THEY ARE LIKE 50-100 PIECES.

Dollar Tree does have a pretty great selection of different images. I did see several dog sets when I was there last.
Now I want to look at my Dollar Tree! Saw comments elsewhere… a few had best luck with Cardinal (no missing pieces etc.) of 3 brands they usually carry.

Ooo I didn't think about the possibility of missing pieces with these cheap sets, that's a very good point. Now I really gotta do a full puzzle review with these inexpensive puzzles soon! I wonder what luck I'll have.
I took your advice about dollar stores when I ran out of puzzles and didn't want to spend 25 dollars on a puzzle. Mine is Dollar General. Found some puzzles I could afford. Thanks for the heads-up. After doing 2 of them I found their quality varies a lot between brands, One was regular cut but the next one was mono-cut: all the same cut: 2 outs and 2 ins. And very tiny. After trying to do the tiny mono-cut (and all green - my fault, I picked it ) I boxed it up and it's going to the resale shop. The other puzzles are fine and the right price. The tiny mono- cut was a spin Master puzzle.

Glad you found some affordable options! Yes, the quality greatly varies but for the price, I find it fun to experiment with the different brands. My local Dollar Generals have some pretty good options for around $5.
I would have totally got every single one of them! 😅😅 Cardinal is not too bad - I've got three boxes with 12 jigsaws in there. As you said: you get what you've paid for.

I'm really looking forward to putting one of these together, and seeing how they fair compared to some of my more expensive Disney puzzles (which seem to come a part a lot).
In Toronto we have Dollarama and they are now carrying Eeboo puzzles for $5.00

$5 for Eeboo is a fantastic deal 🤯🤯🤯 I haven't been to my Dollar Tree in awhile, so I'm really curious what they're currently stocking. It'd be nice to find brands like Eeboo there too!
I love shopping at Dollar tree... But one has to be careful on those micropuzzles. They require lots of colour and variety to be doable. The piece sizes are the same and the image on each piece is hard to see. So easy to misfit those... including the edge pieces. But in general... Dollar Tree has given me fodder for my KZread puzzle portfolio videos. Gives them substance.

Dollar Tree is definitely one of those places where you end up purchasing more than what you planned for. I have a love/hate relationship with it 😂 The Mickey Mouse set was the first one I completed from that haul, and it was so hard because aside from the characters, there were really only 2 other main colors in the whole image.
Well now I have to go to dollar tree 😂

LOL and you won't spend a lot too...unless you buy tons of them I guess :D
