Please bring the old songs back. They tell the story of Jesus and his love, salvation. I miss them. I find now in church that people just stand there watching the performers on stage, watching a screen and they aren't even participating in singing. Singing the old hymns together are so powerful with the gospel nessage. I miss those gospel messages. I still have one of the old gospel hymnal song books and read those beautiful truths. I am sadden that young people haven't heard those hymns today. Years gone by and we have lost those holy spirit gospel filled messages. Those songs written years ago authors who witnessed God's salvation, his amazing awesome love.Those gospel songs can't be replaced. Songs like, l Have A Risen Savior He Lives He Lives Christ Jesus Lives Today Because He Lives In My Heart Today and Down At The Cross Where My Savior Died. The stories of Salvation written in those old gospel songs. Longing to hear those precious heart felt hymns in churches again. 😢💟✝️🙏🏽🙏🏿🙏🏼🙏🏾🙏🙏🏾🙏🏿🙏🏻🙏

I love that at Grace Community Church we sing old hymns together. "He will hold me fast". "How great thou art". "His robes for mine". Wonderful worship to Our great GOD and Savior!

So true. Children learn those songs and sing them for years as they come to know God. You don’t forget them ever. I still sing them. Churches, please bring back those beautiful praise hymns. God sees all things.

The church I go to in my hometown has everyone singing and praising along with the hyms, everyone sings and it sounds beautiful! We have a wonderful pianist and a retired highschool band director conducting everyone as we all face the cross and perform for The Most High God! I prayed that God would give me a church that sang and worshipped with joyfulness and he granted it to me. I'm forever blessed for my church and my pastor, even if my husband and I are the youngest adults there by a couple of decades lol. They even have the children learn to sing, to prepare them for when they come up with the adults ❤️ they sound beautiful when you hear them practicing during the sermons 😊.

We don't need to go back to the 1800 to heard good preaching. We have Jack here in 2022.

My day starts with talking to my Heavenly Father, and there are many times I've experienced what you said pastor Hibbs, deep sighing and groanings , tears falling , but I know the Holy Spirit is there ministering to me, better yet Jesus is making intercession for me. As I mature in Christ this means more and more to me. ❤

I admit I skip the new music, but Pastor Hibbs words are a blessing to this greatgrandma. I listen to traditional hymns on different venues.😊

I do know older Christian's that wait until the music is over, which normally starts at the beginning of Sunday Service, because we miss HYMN'S. We know they started using " New Age" type music to attract the younger generation but why did we have to eliminate ALL of the old HYMN'S?? Hymns have been around for over 200 years in the United States and a very important part of the service. There is " feeling" in HYMN'S. Less people are going to Church now than ever before. Maybe if they could just do half New Age and half of the Old Hymn's. Just a thought that I hear other " older" Christian's mention. God Bless i

most people's idols are themselves. The hardest idol to destroy as it's insidious. You don't even know your worshiping self until God reveals it to you. And your like oh I thought it was this or I thought it was that but all those idols stem from the idolization of self so you destroy that and the rest fall with it.

I am using several of your points in a devotion given to my group of widows. They have helped me so much and I am praying they will help them. Women sometimes think they have to be strong for the rest of the family and hold their grieve in. Groaning can be a great release.

I lost my husband in 2021 a few weeks later a Christian said take of your rings your not married, I explained that I’ll never marry again and wait until I can be with my husband to be told I’ll never see him again, death ends it and heaven so big we will never see each other, this is not what we were taught in church so I’m so confused. A few weeks ago I listened to a Pastor who said if you remarried you will be left behind even tho you think you are saved, I explained I left a violent marriage unsaved, eventually I meet someone who turned out to be my 2nd husband he was an atheist, wee fell in love. I planned to see a medium as I’d lost my mum but God guided me to a church, wee went although Mike not happy eventually I got saved, a few months later Mike got saved, I talked with God about us getting married not wanting to go against God it came into my head have a conversation with R my ex, I knew that if we were to be reunited God would stop the abused but also I would have to stop relationship with M. The conversation when I asked maybe we should get counselling and try again he replied, I have no problem with you except your a Christian I want no part in that. I married M, when I explained this the pastor said it wasn’t God guiding me I sinned so either I’ll be left behind or God took my husband so I’m not in adultery when he comes, I am devastated and feel it’s pointless doing this walk to be left behind anyway. Grief is killing me i miss my husband so much and not ever to see him again hurts so much. I wanted to see Jesus and my husband
