Are you sure? Did the Russian MOD give you those numbers? Remember when you guys use to spit out enormous new casualty numbers in the first year of the war and people had to point out that it made no sense because the numbers added up to be being greater than the total population of Ukraine. Are we going to make up numbers again? At least make the numbers exciting. Say it was centillion casualties and five yetis.

Those numbers are very, very conservative. Remember, the Ukrainian troops are not well trained. They're starting to be made up of mostly conscripts, kidnapped off the streets, and sent to the front. Add in the FABs falling on their positions every day, all day. Those numbers will continue going up as time goes on.

@@arty5876 I would say Dima is minorly pro-Russian. He is quite thorough by making sure he gets actual geolocations before turning the map into Russian control. Dima is probably more neutral and not pro-Russian than say western media is pro-Ukrainian, they do everything short of outright admitting it. Institute for the Study of War for instance uses Ukrainian General Staff as a big part of their sources.

How ;p ? With the trump election becoming very likely, Putin has every reason to wait until january 2025 to see if maybe the US will grant him some kind of victory out of the jaws of defeat. And there is no way for Ukraine and its allies to force a military conclusion to the war in 2024 (though I've overestimated the russian armed forces before, but that truly seems simply impossible).

European NATO members have very small professional force and infantry component is proportionally much smaller then it used to be in the past. However, since infantry suffers highest losses there is no chance to increase this component by volunteers from Western countries.

It can't goes on for years. Ukraine will be able to fight for another year at most. Then losses and the exhaustion of the mobilization reserve will reach a critical level, after which Ukraine will never be able to recover and exist as a separate state.

We're talking about empirical evidence. To be more scientific we should require the evidence of claims be reproducible by skeptics. I think in practical terms this means a lot more flags raised, flags fought to destroy or hold aloft, for their own sake. "Oh say can you see?"

The AFU continues to resist and even counter attack in places. At this rate the war can go on for years. It all depends on Ukraines willingness to continue fighting.
