Yesterday (day 2) the Dalai Lama said that the true nature of the mind is luminous (glowing, radiating light). The defilements (dirtiness, eg bad emotions), which cover and block the luminous mind, are temporary. As you destroy them, the mind becomes clearer and clearer, and the possibility of attaining (getting) Buddha qualities becomes more likely. The potential for enlightenment is always there, naturally, within all of us.

I hold my highest respect to this person Other than one other.

Science without ethics is worse for humans and life than not having science, is it the same for meditation and knowledge of karma and fate and options of opportunity of fate and faith? How much would infinite beings pull back from refusal to teach due to fear of the students bad karma, and how easy is it really to heal the evil in beings if we understand the good coming from evil (long term for all and short term for individuals or groups) and find virtuous ways to achieve similar good without evil action or consequence. Lesser evil is important for long term survival, because ignorance of the consequences of actions, even with virtuous intentions we can do much damage, so a Buddha or aspiring Buddha has their main task of finding and distributing virtuous complex solutions with care in complexity of resulting in only virtuous consequences. The predators lower overpopulation, saving ecosystems and sometimes perhaps all life. So how complexly can we work with the task of ethically scientific exploration of the probabilities of virtuous, lesser virtuous, neutral, lesser evil and evil consequences in order to promote the most effectively virtuous actions in every beings endeavour?

How easy is it to recognise and rapidly exchange knowledge and wisdom with Buddhas or aspiring Buddhas in other cultures not Buddhist and even the low status ones who feel the pressures of sensitivity of awareness and ripples in the web of life but misunderstood them so become paranoid or drop the dharma to try to regain balance to not fall off cliffs. A foggy eyed karma dharma taught me to hurt in order to forgive criminals, but I already knew and now it is hard to do any good. Also in the celestial realms of movements of fate someone is cursing my powerful blessings on Earth with terrible apocalyptic curses. How is this possible in a secular sense. I will say that I dedicated myself to activism a few more than 20 years ago and the signs are that something has attacked wherever I have tried to do good. Fires started, curses on humanity, all sorts and though in a different light it might be interpreted differently, the signs are pretty strong. Is your form of Buddhism easily able to work with that sort of fate work or is it considered delusion? I have tried to work with nature against the current mass extinction that threatens life on Earth, but it seems wherever I try something horrible begins. I feel it is a small bad karma curse made powerful by the huge nature of my attempts to do good. A being or curse with a deep desire to prove I am not virtuous as I hurt them or their loved ones so without checking what I am doing turns my work on its head to make it bad. As if the cobra that covered Buddha’s head strikes at every being Buddha heals. No disrespect to any true Buddha’s. Recently in my work with the stars in the night sky, it has opened a vision that stars, planets, moons, life are eggs or crops and humanity going into space with fists swinging is through time future already ruining the galaxy so science fiction and fantasy novels and movies are being seeded to warn us that if we do not back off there will be no human race or life on Earth or Planet Earth left. Perhaps that is why it was so easy to find Nuclear Weapons. But science is correct, without space travel, eventually humanity and life here is gone. A problem with the violent stories is it makes many humans prepare for more powerful war and little wisdom is woven into them. Can we have Buddhist match The thrill of Star Wars and other adventures with dharma teaching stories equally adventurous but totally or almost totally non-violent. Many in the tone of the Great American Indian Chiefs speeches would honour me who sometimes tears up at the truth of them as a white man in Australian Aborigines land knowing that Rome, Athens and then Christianity and Feudalism hurt many European pagan tribes and Nations centuries ago as bad as war at times but through cultural and religious molestation and then slavery at other times. I have been able to understand the sort of logic used for great evil allowed to happen but I do not have the senses enough to help, I know Earth has a Buddha nature, but She is quite ignorant, millions of years to reach humanity at todays level. Still it’s is hard to imagine starting with no accumulation of knowledge and doing anything productive at all. So that at least is genius.

The vows in this lecture were kind of hard to hear because of the translator speaking over HHDL, but from a different lecture (the one about the Avalokiteshvara) I wrote down a version of these vows. They are very similar to what is being said in this lecture ... "I take refuge in the 3 jewels. I confess all my sins and transgressions. To all virtuous actions of sentient beings I raise the sympathetic joys. I devote my heart to the Buddha and to Enlightenment. Til the day of my final enlightenment, I take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. For the sake of benefitting myself and others, I aspire to mindful awakening. I will serve all sentient beings and practice all actions of Bodhichitta. For the sake of benefitting all beings, May I achieve Buddhahood."

Also despite public opinion I can say it seems that law enforcement has never reduced crime, it has mostly protected tyranny. People are trained largely in school to lose their tribal loyalties and this causes crime because everyone becomes a stranger and does not care for each other. Sometimes even when they make the theatre of moral and ethical debate, the horror of tribal destruction of this sort begins in Plato’s Republic but also feudalism and empire do the same banning of tribes in order to enslave entire collectives.
