The malay kuih from the famous stall is called Putu Piring. They were featured on Netflix's Street food asia. Though they are already well-known before the feature. The Chinese version is called Tutu (pronounced "too too") Kuih. Not the tuk tuk vehicle in Thailand ya😁And gula melaka is different from palm sugar ya...so the English subtitle is not accurate.

Kolo Mee is Malaysian Cantonese noodle. Very nice! 👍👍In Malaysia especially Penang the Hokkien Mee ie Prawn Noodle is 👍👍Similar to Singapore Prawn Noodle Soup. In Singapore/Malaysia we use the original name in dialect for all our popular dish. Like WanTon Mee (ie. Cantonese) and NOT Mandarin 雲吞面. Similarly BakChor Mee is TeoChew dish, we don't use the Mandarin 肉脞面 when ordering. Also Malay dish Mee Goreng ie. Fried Noodle Malay 炒麵. Char Kway Teow is Hokkien, Singaporean will rarely say Mandarin 炒粿條 when ordering. All the original dialect/language pronunciations are retained. So once you know the pronunciation of the dish, you know the origin. The exception is like seldom hear dialect like Hainanese. So we say Hainanese Chicken rice.

Good, yummy hawker food in Singapore. Varieties of food Chinese, Indian, Malay, Western food etc. Hope these hawker food will continue to price at reasonable price for hdb residents, low income earners. Please don't feature in Tourists brochures, influx of tourists to these hawker centres, food price will increase tremendously. Poor and mid income earners with families will be badly affected with high hawker food price.

@ Choon Hock Ong. Agreed, they're featured on KZread channels eg Greg Low eats and Piggypuggy. It's very important to show these hawker centres as it's part of Singapore culture, without these centres, not much left for visitors/locals who come back from abroad to visit.
