It’s HIS voice that makes everything sound wonderful! I swear that man could read ingredients/nutrition label and give us the feeling!

I love it when deep voices do things like this especially Geoff’s because it sounds like butter!

Only Geoff could make a nightmare sound so soothing and cozy, without losing any of the sense of horror.

I'm so glad you haven't given up on doing narrations, even though they seem not to do get as much attention. Which is unfortunate, they totally deserve it

I enjoyed listening to this thought-provoking and eerie story in Geoff's velvety voice. The coldness and eerieness of the story contrasted wonderfully with Geoff's warm, soft voice. The warm crackle of the fireplace, Niagara's voice, Geoff's perfect voiceover... It was all amazing. Congratulations to everyone involved in this quality work.

I never thought I would be surprised enough to laugh out loud at Hawthorne, but your measured reading made it possible! True artistry. Thank you! PS. I would love to hear another short story when you have had time enough to create another reading....I can imagine that the quality and artistry of this one took hours of work. English teachers at the secondary and college level should use this as a resource. Another quality that contributes to your artistry is that you recognized and conveyed the overall structure of the story within your reading. That's probably what allowed me the opportunity to understand the turns toward the subtle humor embedded within the text. Jeff, Again, thanks. You made a mundane morning magical.

Love Hawthorne! I was obsessed with his work when I was a 10ish (I was a strange kid, I was also obsessed with 19'th century Russian writers lmao). Hawthorne is actually a light read, but still uses the English language like it's water, just beautiful and haunting.

I’m reading the Acarlet Letter in my 11th grade honors English. Cant say I’ve read anything I hated more. The way Hawthorne writes is impressive, but he takes way too long to tell us what happened. Why should it take 3 pages to tell us that Hester walked from the jailhouse to the scaffold?

I'm absolutely going to listen to this, because Geoff's voice often helps me find the calm in the center of the storm, but NOT as I'm trying to fall asleep. I'll go listen to Night Before Christmas and/or The Little Mermaid for that. 🙃

This has quickly become my favorite narration of yours for going to sleep to, which is my main use case for your narrations. It is a perfect topic that I deeply relate to as I am going to sleep, yet the stream of semi-consciousness and lack of plot does not give any friction to my brain as it slips into sleep. It is a genius choice and masterful delivery. I appreciate it so much!

I found you a few days ago from youtube recommended believe it or not, and I love your voice. You have an amazing voice, range, timbre, good technique and phrasing. I've also been enjoying the narration videos, they are very good. Yesterday, I showed my dad your singing videos with voiceplay and here (hes a bass with very little tenor range bc he kinda lost it after years of not using it) and he loves you bc now he can actually sing along to some of his favorite songs IN HIS RANGE (mostly)! So you have two new fans!

Quite the macabre little story, this is. Excellent narration, Geoff. You found exactly the right tone for it.

Geoff, I am a fan of your narrations, and I have listened to : The Raven, T'was The Night Before Christmas, The Cremation of Sam Mc Gee, Jabberwocky, The Landlady, Annabel Lee, and I just listened to : The Haunted Mind. Geoff, what factors do you consider when you are looking for a new piece to narrate. Geoff, have you considered narrating a small novel/ book over a span of a month or two in a series of 3 or 4 videos on your channel? I would listen to every one of them. I love your music, and now I have found a new love and that is your narrations.

If you don't actually pay attention to the story, you could easily fall asleep to this because of how soothing his voice is o3o

i have literally listened to this six times already and STILL have no idea what's going on in the story. I keep getting lost in the voice. This is now on my "Had a Bad Day at Work" playlist (along with quite a few of Geoff's songs and Voiceplay's songs). I was waiting for a friend on the way home last week, and she heard me listening to "The Little Mermaid" narration. "Had a bad day at work, did you?" and that's how my playlist got named LOL

I have that specific poem bookmarked because it is my favorite poem. But I would to hear it read by you just because I think it's suit your voice. I do love hearing you sing cuz you do have a very very nice baritone deep voice. I hear you talk it's pretty cool. You have a very nice talking voice.
