The Haunted Haven by A. Erskine Ellis

Ойын-сауық

Arthur Erskine Ellis, born on October 1, 1902, in Bangalore, British India, was a distinguished British biologist and author known for his remarkable contributions in two distinct realms. On the one hand, he was a dedicated scientist who left a lasting legacy in the field of malacology, particularly in the study of non-marine mollusks. His extensive body of work in this area, including numerous publications, established him as an authority in British non-marine malacology. From 1919 to 1961, he also demonstrated his passion for botany by contributing specimens of spermatophytes to various herbariums in Britain. His scientific pursuits reflected his deep appreciation for the natural world and his commitment to preserving its biodiversity.
On the other hand, Arthur Erskine Ellis showcased his creative talents as an author, specializing in ghost stories. Notably, one of his notable works, "The Haunted Haven," delves into the supernatural with a chilling narrative set in Ticlas Haven, a fishing village off St. Brides Bay. This story revolves around three surly brothers who commit a heinous act - drowning their parsimonious uncle during a storm at sea in the hopes of inheriting his fortune. However, their plan takes a sinister turn as, within three months of the murder, each brother meets a tragic end. Subsequently, their vengeful, zombie-like spectres terrorize the villagers by embarking on eerie, ghostly journeys in their wrecked fishing smack after dark. The village doctor and innkeeper are compelled to intervene and put an end to the ghostly capers, but the spectres, resentful of interference, continue to haunt the South Haven, creating a chilling and suspenseful tale that is a testament to Ellis's prowess as a writer in the realm of the supernatural.

Sir, I love your voice. I am experiencing a health issue which makes it hard to walk and get about so you have become a great joy in my life. I heard you state that some of your listeners are suggesting that you not fill in for female or foreign character voices, please don't give this up as I find these occasions in your stories very enjoyable to listen to. You have been a great find and I have passed your work on to others. God bless you and yours.

I actually think I won't be able to give up doing the accents. I read something and hear the voices that way so not to give them voice would be a terrible strain ;). Some say to give them voice is a terrible strain on their ears, but they can stroll on.

As a person with a cat who has a KZread channel, I can verify that trolls and haters will insult us for any reason, and often for reasons they make up. It sucks, but there is no avoiding it. When your content reaches a larger audience, there is an increased chance of a d***head watching and commenting. The only thing to do is power through the negativity, keeping in mind the people who do enjoy your content. It takes balls to live stream like Tony has been doing. I'm happy to see him branch out, and the only way to become more comfortable with it is to keep doing it. My hope is that Mr. Walker enjoys doing it, and if he doesn't, the best thing fans can do is respect his decision. ❤

A few times you even put up some illustrations! And, I’m glad to hear she’s doing better. I live with my mom (&partner, pup-pup, & a kit-kat) & I feel grateful for this time together. We lost her dad earlier this year & he asked that I make sure to take care of her & that tenderness of a 90+ year old making sure his daughter is in good hands touched my heart! Our parents & family are so dear to us, & those of you wage earners working in the generous health care system CONTRIBUTE SO MUCH OF YOURSELVES EVERYDAY- so thanks for THAT ALSO, Tony & Shelia❣️ Your efforts towards our family & self healing is not forgotten.🧡👩🏼‍🌾👨🏼‍🌾

@49:25 - Glad to hear your mom is out of the hospital. I am 67. My mom lived to be 86. So I'm expecting to live that long at least. Here is a simple fact : If you do not work out - you will get weaker and weaker until you just die. Working out does NOT mean weights (like barbells or dumbbells - although I do have dumbbells). Weight is just weight. So a can of sardines or beans or maybe a bunch of leeks. See if maybe you can get her to lift weights with a bunch of leeks. Twelve repetitions is all it takes to make one set. You do the right arm, then switch and do the left. Get an easy book on how to do weights and get her involved. Weight lifting can do wonders for the human body. About Ulcers - they are curable. A long time ago (like the 1990s - heh - and THAT's considered a long time ago now - wow), a doctor in the US found a way to cure ulcers. The AMA drove him out of the US. He went to Australia. There he finished up his tests and found that there is a 'Y' shaped bacteria that invades the human body. It comes in through food we eat. The top part of the bacteria wiggles and makes the bacteria move. The bottom part is what digs through the lining of the stomach which then allows it to propagate outside of the stomach. Ok - what's the cure? See part 2 - NO! Heh. Actually, you have to have an injection of antibiotics. At the same time, you have to take oral antibiotics, last - you have to drink some Bismol (but no Pepto-Bismol - it has to be just Bismol). The two antibiotics attack the bacteria both inside (oral) and outside (injection) of the stomach. The Bismol is to help the stomach's lining regrow. That should help your mom immensely. Then get her to start doing exercises!

#44:02 - Shipping from the British Isles to America - I have ordered items before from Great Britain and even Germany. I do NOT know how they manage to ship to me, but it is no where near 40 pounds. Maybe there is a book rate? Or maybe they used UPS or FedEx or another shipping company? You were talking about people using Etsy in the United States - could you redirect the person TO Etsy here in the states via the web? (An auto-redirect command.) It could also be because of what part of the country you live in. Like here in the US, if you live way out in the middle of nowhere, in a small town some place - it can take more time and more money to get anything shipped via the mail. And then there are other problems - my ex-wife's mother and father live next to a small town and for some reason one of the postal people got mad at them. That person would intentionally misfile their incoming mail and then tell them that it never arrived and even send it back to whomever sent it with a "No such person" stamp on it. It took five years for the parents to finally get the postal service to come out, see what this person was doing, and fire the person. So now - ANOTHER one of the people there are doing the same thing because their friend was fired. Sometimes you just can't win. Anyway - check around and see if you can get a better deal with a different carrier.

Me personally, I find all that talk after the story, very annoying.
