Great set up Pete. I had a deck like this year's ago. Something like this was shown on an American TV show called The Magician which starred Bill Bixby the show ran for one year 1973 to 1974.👍😊👍😊😊👍
My suspicions were correct, the set up is what was throwing me off. Good one Gaffer!
Brilliant trick. There's a version that uses a rubber band and their signed card pops up from the card box with the deck. Both are fully examinable afterwards! That being said, this is fun to see. Riveting why your videos aren't popping up all the time in my notifications. Then to top it all off I've been getting a lot of crap channels in my feed. Frustrating recommendations to say the least. Cheers though. Keep up the good videos! 👍🤓👍
Gaffer, great tutorial! And I'm glad you used my tip of rotating the head on the punch!
I've had one of those leather punches for years. Never thought I could put it to gaffing use! Great trick.
Terrific trick! Thought there might be a invisible thread.
Hi Gaffer, very good trick and tutorial. Thanks.
really cool build video Gaffer :) will defo have to make this deck up :)
I bought this back in the 70's for 5 or 7 dollars I first saw Doug Henning do it on one of his tv specials had a lot of fun with it

Some one mentioned yesterday that this was done with elastic thread. I knew he was correct. Good call buddy. I had learned this trick yrs ago, but i forgot how it was done. Then i didnt know how the gaffer did it. Hell, gaffer mite have rented 4 cranes and had them parked out in his driveway to pull the strings, haaa haaa. Good job gaffer. You can use that deck for THE RISING CARD TRICK. You are supposed to have a card chosen first. Then wrap invisible thread around the deck from end to end. Then put the card anywhere in the deck, and put the deck in the card box, and when you put tension on the thread, the card rises out of the top of the box, no gaff. Gaffer, keep the string loos when the card goes in, then toghten the string and the card will rise. The thread will be up to high, coz its in the middle, but who cares. Let me know, y' all. Glen

I use invisible thread of the highest quality; it is from the spool of thread that was used to create the Emperor's clothes in the fable ( the emperor's new clothes). Gary in dreamland floating on a cloud island. Have a nice dream!!🙂☁️☁️⛅💫♥️
Awesome tutorial Gaffer. Love it! 👻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I actually prefer the loops version since it uses a full regular deck but this is nice also!

Tape end of thread to a small magnet and attach magnet to belt buckle or a watch on opposite arm?

Which diameter has the thread? I'm sure it's printed on the package. Please tell me, my shop has many different diameters...
