Omega Prime was one of the best parts of Robots in disguise (Car robots). Oh, and Skybyte, of course.

I think people are forgetting that the 2018 reissue of god fire convoy was $280 dollars based off bbts. For $250, it's a new mold and better. It's actually not a bad price

My problem isn't the price, my problem is that it's being sold all in one package. Not everyone wants both Prime and Magnus, and it would have been easier on the customers if it was split into two $125 releases. Also regardless of the price being fair or not, the economy is fucked right now and sadly, plastic robots are a low priority. Not a good time to be selling luxury goods.

My problem with the price here isn't so much that " _ZOMG!! It's expensive AF!!_ ", but more so what you're getting for the price compared to the original. It may be a newer mold and slightly new design, but whether it's better or not can be called to question.

I can’t believe an Optimus prime is locked to a haslab, but once I figure out how to back this thing, it shall be mine!

I’m not at all surprised they went back on their “no Optimus Prime as a Haslab” claim, and I don’t even blame them, but now I just hope Haslab doesn’t become ‘fancy Optimus of the year’.

@@kendiaz89he is actually in the class of God Ginrai. Takara Tomy and Japan do not list him as a version of Optimus Prime. Japan is also the one who designed and engineered him. They wanted him to be huge and really intricate to transform. And are hoping the RID fans will also be interested.

Really wanted this version of prime since legacy began.

To be honest I’m not surprised Omega Prime ended up as a HasLab. Since a proper update would have needed both Optimus and Magnus to be Commanders. Changing the gun to be a weaponizers is just because the designers love all the combos collectors make on instagram. For why RiD01 Hasbro hasn’t rumored was Disney might own the rights to the show because of them buying Fox kids. Though there was a dvd release in Europe

Fun fact: Car Robots God Fire Convoy Encore costs $250-$300 (depending on retailer). So, this HasLab is more than worth its price (as they're 3 brand-new molds, articulation, stability and bigger)!

I think I like how this Omega Prime looks where he transforms into a fire truck, Battle station, Combine with the trailer and combines with Ultra Magnus, I think I would get this

I'M SO EXCITED!!! After Armada RID is one of my favorites. Between Tidal Wave and this Hasbro is beating me up and taking my lunch money in March.

I love how Hasbro never forgets about the old more niche stuff, specially the anime, we had Armada representation, VICTORY representation and now RID (the good one) representation. Btw agree on the beast wars thing, i saw it as an adult after both animated and prime and yeah, it is the best transformers show period

The price isn't just 2 Commanders plus a deluxe. People always try to pretend that the tiers are somehow "free" but - as EVERYBODY knows - they're part of the price. Always have been.

The Haslab Omega Prime looks amazing to put it simply. Optimus and Magnus looks pretty much spot on in both robot mode and in truck mode respectively. Bluebolts I didn't know who he was so but his robot mode also looks great. While I won't be able to back it, I'm glad that RID2001 is getting some more attention following both Scourge and Towline. It'll be interesting to see what other rid2001 characters Hasbro plans to do next.

My goodness, what would I do to see a Mashup between Super Optimus/Ultra Magnus/Omega Prime of both 2001, Armada, and Cybertron? It would be complicated, however it would potentially be my most Favorite Optimus Prime Figure of All Time! Thank You for covering this Rodimus Primal!

I am getting this 100 percent I love this version of optimus prime and ultra magnus.

This reveal made my day today! I picked up the original figures back around 2003 when I was in college; the Unicron Trilogy got me back into collecting Transformers and I discovered the OG RID line not long after while browsing eBay. To this day, the RID Optimus Prime is one of my all time favorite figures (despite what the anti-parts-forming crowd says). I wasn't as big of a fan of the RID Ultra-Magnus and I have wanted a new version of these figures for so many years now, I was hoping for a 3rd Party release, but I'm very glad that we're getting this and I can't wait to see how these figures will be improved over the originals.

Two Commander Class figured, but also better overall quality than a standard Commander Class. So the price is not too bad overall assuming we get the HasLab quality to all three figures.

Pricey, but not bank account murdering like a Primus would have been, so I am game. My first Haslab, about time! I hope some figured of Tai, Koji, Dr. Onishi & Kelly figures are part of a super stretch Goal. That or two of the Spychangers, like how 2 Micromasters came with the other HasLabs.

Hasbro remember their first reboot of the Transformers show bring back the cars, truck and everything. The first anime show fans grow up that get some Beast Machines got can and more. Optimus Prime his brother Ultra Mangus, his Mini-Con Targetmaster Bluebolts the brothers combine Omega Prime just look awesome.

I had just turned 21 when this came out, and My partner bought me both Optimus and Ultra Magnus as a wedding gift

I had to look closely but i did see optimus’ small handgun attached to his back if anyone was wondering. They didn’t really display it during the reveal

Now we just need the Autobot Robot Brothers: Prowl (Mach Alert), Sideburn (Speed Breaker), and X-Brawn (Wildride)

This figure is definitely a want, it’s standing at a little under 6500 right now, it’s slowed down quite a bit. I think it’s around 100-200 a day now so it’s not terrible

Personally when I was kid I wanted this Optimus prime but my parents couldn’t afford it but now that I’m older and am working I can finally get a beautiful version of the 2001 rid Optimus prime I’m definitely looking forward to this figure 👌👍

The only reason I wouldn’t call him “Mr. Kaplan“ is because of the high school principal character in Power Rangers, who had the same name. Makes sense to me.

As an 80’s kid, the RiD toy line got me back in to buying transformers figures in the early 2000’s. I loved Beast Wars but I couldn’t get into the animal designs even though I had a couple as a teen. I’m still on the fence about getting this version since I still have my complete OG set.

250 isn't as bad as it sounds: current Commander class pricing is 90, so that's already 180. Plus 25 for Bluebolts (current Deluxe class pricing), takes it up to 205. The remaining 45 is probably within the cost of parts, use of paint, and possibly packaging (if they go hard like they did with Victorysaber & Deathsaurus). Worst case, the indimavidual Commanders could be at the upper end, at 100 a pop with Bluebolts still at 25, so that still leaves 25 to account for budgetary costs. Speaking of which...as much as I wanna back it and get my mitts on it, it's probably not gonna be possible. My budget is pretty limited as is, and between bills and supplies, I'm lucky to get anything on the low end of the price spectrum. Probably log that under "Wants That I'll Never Get".

I understand why it is made a Haslab because Ultramagnus will probably not sell as well as Optimus that is why they bundled it together hope it gets funded because it looks pretty good and better than the original version.

Not gonna lie HasLab Omega Prime and his component bots look very show accurate and also I am thinking that the RID 2001 anime will be on the Hasbro Pulse or official Transformers channels honestly I really have no idea, but not just Transformers even Ninja Turtles had toys that were selling really well as for G.I. Joe and MOTU (hmmm..) well at least they tried their best.

Wait....the guy that voiced RID 2001 Optimus Prime voiced Zarkon in Voltron: Legendary Defender?! Tear me to bits and call me scrap man! I've seen the show and both of those guys are in this bug thing I'm making! Also I've got that same Siege figure. Also I'm gonna be one of these backers for Omega Prime and the things he's gonna come with. And I'm gonna talk with my parents this Saturday before getting him and they seem fine with me paying the full thing and I really hope that me and the other guys backing them up can help lower the price. The set looks amazing and I think it beats similar 3rd party offerings. I think these could be considered mini masterpieces. It makes me wonder will an Energon Prime actually be a future Haslab.

Great discussion video! I'm glad Hasbro didn't do Primus. The price point would be at least $800USD., in this economy. This figure does look amazing! So watching the series now, to see whether or not I'll want to back this set. With tax and shipping it should cost around $290USD. .

Fun Fact: Fire Prime (which is what I call RID2K Prime) is the first version of the character to never die during the cartoon's run. He did plan to sacrifice himself in "The Final Battle" though. And a version of him was seen dead in the 2015 comic "Shell Game" by Universe Megazarak. It's only a matter of time before we see in EarthSpark Prime dies or not, he probably will though since it's tradition at this point. And in Shattered Glass that's Megatron's thing. Hopefully Armada Megs doesn't get recolored into Universe Megazarak for Fire Prime's sake. Universe Universe would be a hilarious thing for Legacy to do though.

I'm passing on this, mainly because of budget. But I think it's pretty cool for the fans of the show to have this option. I hate the idea of a Haslab, but I guess it'll be it for now.

This is really important for the younger generation fans like me that got into transformers because of the anime shows of the 2000's

Let's actually put that price in perspective. A commander is now $90. A deluxe is now $25. Going by today's prices it would be $205 if this set was sold as two commanders and a deluxe. That's only $45 from the $250 asking price. However that Optimus is MORE than a single commander class figure would be without question. Arguably so is Magnus. So that adds an unknown amount to that $205. So say another $10 to $15 per "commander" figure. Add in the stupidly fancy box and extra packaging that this is sure to have and you already hit the $250 easily. This set really isn't priced too high at all as is. And this is before factoring in the two tiers and any other surprises they might have in store like they did for Deathsaurus. Personally I'm hoping for extra Bluebolts one way or another. Best thing is we get them all at once instead of maybe getting them over the course of two or three years for just the Optimus and Magnus since there's no way they'd release the same year. Just look at Legacy Armada Optimus Prime and the absence of both Jetfire and Overload until at least next year if the rumors prove true in that they're not coming this year. And those two wouldn't even be commanders and would be leaders at most which could release alongside each other in the same year unlike commanders. And it's still going to be about two years after Armada Prime comes out before we get even one of his partners. This set is almost halfway backed by midnight EST on the first day. Yet all I see on their Facebook posts is that people supposedly hate everything about this and not a single person wants this at all. Constantly saying to themselves that Hasbro made a mistake making a set that nobody wants. Even trying to say that even though the campaign is going amazing well, that doesn't mean that people want it. Ignoring how people literally vote with their wallets with Haslab projects. If people really don't want it then they don't do this well this quickly. Unicron didn't go this well by far. I don't think even Star Saber went this well either. Deathsaurus went very well, the Sentinel went well and Galactus went well too out of the ones that I was interested in. Oh and the Proton Pack too. And the HISS Tank and Skystriker I think. The rest went either slowly and limped along or failed to fund. Unicron had to get a few extensions to get made as well. There's no way Primus was going to get funded and it would've just ended up wasting two years for Transformers collectors.

I have no attachment to RID 2001 or this version of Optimus, but I love Optimus and getting different incarnations of the character, and have always liked this design a lot, and I'm a sucker for an Optimus with a super mode. Will probably be the first Haslab I back!

In Australia, the are selling it 3x USD price vs previous 2x USD price. Our exchange rate approx AUD 1.5 to 1 USD

I was looking at the tf scale for the 2001 show online and scourge and base prime is same size. We already technically have a scourge which stands at 7 inches. Prime will stand at 8.5 inches tall. Prime should be a voyager because we also have a sideburn mold as a deluxe. Which makes it near impossible to match scale with the toys especially when looking at ruination/ bruticus which should be the largest but will stand at the same size as the ultra prime. This one is difficult for me.

Was planning on buying the original from a buyer on Mercari last week not knowing they were going to reveal this… I was going to buy it because the buyer was only selling it for $80, but after this got revealed they changed their price to $280

I agree. Though we are getting SS86 Optimus Prime later this year. Also I would love to see a better Devastator than the Combiner Wars one that scales with the rest of the WFC figures.

I sincerely wish that HasTakTom used this opportunity to aptly place this great set in its MPG line to fully utilize the 'Gattai' quality that these designs bring to the table (smaller inner robot combines with parts for mid-sized upgrade & also with base for full super upgrade; then the same inner robot combines, sans base, with Ultra Magnus (who also combines separately & together with new robot character, Blue Bolts). At the same time, this would give us the option to choose from different variations of these toys from over the years utilizing modern engineering. (Just imagine this set in the ultra-exclusive black & gold deco!) You stay 'omega'! 🎉

Cool yes. Unexpected yes. I thought they said no optmus primes would be a haslab. Not happy about it being a haslab at all. Hasbro probably hiding behind the fact of a technicality, it's "Omega Prime". I thought of all Optimus Primes this one is the coolest design.

I was on the fence because of the price, but you just convinced me.

well my bet was on Devastator getting the haslab treatment. This was a pleasent surprise and though I dont think it fits well with a 40th anniversery figure, it is still one figure that I have always wanted. RID Ultra Magnus was to my teenage eyes the coolest guy ever lol. 250 isnt too bad for three figures two of which will be commander class size. My deepest hope was that this would have been a Haslab for Fort-Max. -my holy graile- Be well mate and thanks for this video! I will be picking up at least one, what about you?

I was almost praying for Devastator but I think Hasbro doesn’t want to touch a high price point anytime soon with Transformers. Devy would totally step on mainline sales.

I only seen WFC Jetfire & Skylynx at Meijers & the Ark at GameStop. Otherwise Commanders & Titans I almost never see in the wild.

I haven't seen RID'01 before, but been meaning to since watching it JP predecessors Beast Wars II & Neo (which I both enjoyed). Hadn't had interest in Titans & HasLab prior, but Tidalwave & Omega Prime seem fun.

Since this is a haslab project it looks like they are never going to make the yellow version of Optimus (splendid yellow convoy). *Grabs yellow paint* Guess I'll have to do it myself.

This looks good and I grew up on RID, but I just can't get behind this. 1. Too pricey. Should've been 2 commanders at retail, and we just got Armada Prime and SS86 Magnus both as commanders last year. It is totally possible. They also just announced a combiner between a Titan Tidal Wave and a Leader Megatron, both available at retail, for less price combined than this offering is. 2. It doesn't scale with anything. He is going to tower or Nemesis Prime (Scourge), so he has nobody to fight against, and no one to stand up alongside. He feels like they made him large just to justify the price and needing to be a Haslab. 3. Optimus is the most popular character, and he's locked behind a Haslab now. So what hope do we have for the other RID robots then? Is Rail Racer off the table? Skybite, Megatron, Prowl? Are we going to get those other characters to support this? Or even worse, if this fails, we can never get RID Optimus? Don't get me wrong, this offering looks wonderful. It just rubs me the wrong way and I feel like they've screwed us over in so many ways by deciding to make this a Haslab. This is not a "dream project." This is a normal product that they chose to lock into a kickstarter. It's crazy to me that a toy from my childhood, that I walked into KB Toys and bought with my allowance, now costs $250. I can't support this, and that makes me sad.
