My Dad used to listen to these guys way back. I like them now too, is that a sign of getting old? No. It is a sign of wisdom, maturity and good taste. Classic players!
Thanks, Harmonicats - my late father used to buy your records back in the 1940's and today, at the age of 77 I still enjoy your music. Did I say MUSIC? YES! THAT was MUSIC at its best - keep it up, please!!!
I own this record! Picked it up almost by mistake, and now its always part of the collection. Jerry Murad is great!
Happy New Year to all of you from The Harmonicats. Thank you for your support.
Great stuff. My grandfather had one of your albums, "Peg O' My Heart" and I inheirited it after he passed. I still enjoy listening to it. Glad to see you guys still up and running.
a HUGE thanks to all of you who have posted wonderful comments here. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from The Harmonicats.
@arkaburger If Mr. Gibson was fortunate enough to know Pete Pedersen, or as I call him " Uncle Pete" he met one of the coolest guys ever. A great player as well. Just for the record, Pete was a successful musician and composer and wrote most all of the arrangements for The Cats however he was never a member of the group. He was in the Harmonica Rascals. He was also Jerry Murads' best friend since they were kids in Chicago.
WOW
thank you for bringing back some lovely memories!!
these guys can sure play.... I pleasantly enjoyed listening. thanks for posting...
Joe, JR, Jerry. The three bestest "J"s in the world.
The group with the little guy is Borah Minevitch and The Harmonica Rascals, one of the funniest acts in vaudeville. Jerry Murad left the Rascals, formed The Harmonicats and recorded Peg O' My Heart. To this day, The Rascals are mistaken for The Harmonicats since they were famous and The Harmonicats,an unknown group at the time, had the hit record. An understandable case of mistaken identity.
I bought two of your LP's from a record store a few years ago and was stunned by the quality of the recording and the way you played the harmonica's. Really incredible on a nice stereo system.
Very entertaining and a terrific arrangement of this latin classic!
I've always heard of you guys from way back, and now its good to see you still playing your hearts out!!
The first time I saw the Harmonicats was at the Sherman Hotel in Chicago while at an American Trucking Associations annual convention In the 50's I think.
Love this song
Hallo! Thanks for Your very beautiful playing!
By pushing the slide button on this harmonica called a chromatic harmonica allows you to play the sharps and flats of the scale, same as when you play the black keys on the piano. Thanks for viewing.
Showmanship at it's finest!!!
