Fun fact: The Mandelbrot set is not an artificially created fractal design, it was discovered as a feature of the natural universe!

As a cs student, this type of video of yours ( The hardest trip) helped me understand the real meaning behind all this chaos and irrationality described in math. Thank you, I'll soon become a Patreon of yours once I'm financially stable :P. Keep on the good work, this type of mandelbrot visualization is by far the best. You deserve the 100k and even more. There are so few videos out there that can enlighten you in some way, and this is just that.

Yeah these sets are great on this channel. I usualy throw them up on a ceiling durring trips with a projector, lay down, and fall up into it for about a few years or so..except the one time I did a unholy 14grams fungi and was gone like 10,000 years lol

Can you provide any info on this? I mean coloring. Black means convergence, the other bright are divergence, right?

Yes. Black is ‘not escaping’ (stays within 2 units of zero). It may not converge to a single value, it usually converges to a period motion. Colours escape to infinity. (Note I’ve chosen colours pretty close to black in some videos).

I suspect that watching the Mandelbrot zoom affects the subconscious and stimulates the expansion and evolution of conciousness. I would like to see studies done on if it can improve cognition, and brain injury therapy. Just a hunch.

I screenshot some your works and turn them as phone wallpapers. You can try it by using smart phone, setting a KZread video to high graphic and taking it.

I'm fascinated by the way the shapes are not just static, in other words you're not just zooming in on a static Mandelbrot set and regenerating it for deeper and deeper values. For example, a pointy structure, as you zoom in on a given region , appears to grow into a void. The pointy structure will eventually push into and distort a shape that it is growing towards.. Is that because of the shading algorithm? Is that giving the illusion of movement?

At the final scale: Just how big is the initial set? OR How many iterations would it take to be the size of the solar system (out to the Oort cloud)?

What does the iteration and depth count mean? And how much time did it take to render this video?

By the way, the title of this video is a bit of a misnomer. This is because the original Hardest Trip video was named after your video "The Hardest zoom", which was called that because it had 500 million iterations, and this zoom doesn't even have close to that many iterations. I don't have a problem with this, though. I just find it quite amusing.
