Lee, when you become “task saturated” you lose personality and freedom. When we were on the Celebration in June 2023, we saw you everywhere. Don’t let those who never see you change or control your schedule. They are probably the cruisers that never venture out of their cabins to take in all the activities and FUN! Don’t feel guilty for not being everywhere at every minute. Your schedule is sooo busy, I don’t know how you do it all without collapsing from exhaustion. If they can’t find you, it means they weren’t at the right place in the right time. Don’t be so hard on yourself, it’s not your fault at all.

When I was onboard in January 2023 (aka Best Cruise I've Ever Taken!) without trying we saw you so many times and it did stand out compared to CD's on other lines which I never even got to meet - that you are always ever present and I love that. I think I like that more than you having to host EVERY.SINGLE.EVENT. BTW, in your "in cabin this is my hosting schedule" chat, it seems like your camera self-adjusts for the movement of the ship???? I loved that! It reminded me of the gentle sway of the ship during our cruise!

Hi Lee, Don't change a thing! You are doing a superb job and you're absolutely correct. Lee you are forever one of our favorites! I appreciate your kind and gentle spirit and the extra care you show the junior cruisers! Our favorite memories with you were on the Mardi Gras and seeing you take the time to pop in at Build a Bear which Tyler hosted (and will be our cruise director on the Dream in a few months). You also responded to my littlest cruiser when he asked you if the casino was an arcade, “yes but for grown ups.” We all got a good giggle out of it. I say all that to say, don’t change your approach! We found you everywhere and appreciated the opportunity for the fun squad to host some events because now we look forward to some of them being our cruise directors and seeing them around the fleet. At the end of the day, you are not guest services. It’s not your job to listen to everyone’s complaints. You’re there to ensure safety and fun!

I don’t get the opportunity to cruise as much as I would like, but when we cruised in December 2022, we saw you everywhere, plus I got the chance to say hi and tell you how much I had enjoyed your vlogs from the shipyard when the Celebration was being built. My sister, who cruises a lot more than I do, remarked that you were one of the most accessible cruise directors she had experienced. It seems to me that you have achieved a great balance of hosting as well as talking to the guests one on one. In watching your vlogs, I admire that you are giving the Fun Crew the opportunity to learn new jobs and to spread their wings. Well I sincerely appreciate that!! Thank you so so much. I do acknowledge that I cannot possibly be as present on this size of ship as I could on the smaller ships and.... maybe that is a part of my guilt.

My husband and I prefer to cruise on the smaller ships because we have found that we make less connections with staff on the larger ships. It’s one of our favourite things about cruising. If we had a choice we would prefer to see the cruise director wandering around and talking with passengers.

Hi Lee! I was on this cruise and my husband and I were literally like…does this man have clones of himself?! He’s everywhere! Not only that, but you always have a smile, seem relaxed, and have time to stop and talk to people and make their day. We cruised with you back in 2019 on Splendor and you made such a great impression - we were so excited to be back with you on this cruise, even 4 years later. Coming back on Celebration in December for the New Year cruise and hope to see you then!

Lee, My Wife and I have only been on 1 cruise, it was on the Celebration this past July 4th with my In laws(which go on cruises a lot). My Wife and I knew nothing about the cruise world, cruise directors or anything. With that said we saw you ALL OVER THE PLACE. You added a positive light on our cruise so as others have said if people are not seeing you, it is not your fault. Keep being yourself and keep up the GREAT work.

Hi Lee, Just to let people know... As Diamond on Carnival there are special gatherings in which we have even more access to the CD and Executive Officers, such as the Diamond lunch and the Platinum-Diamond party. So... get cruising out there, and up your level! Lee is one of the best as he will stop and talk to you, as others will just acknowledge with a glance and run or even act as not to hear you.

Lee, you’re doing a fantastic job on the ship. I agree with others - if people don’t see you, it’s because they’re not attending the right events. I saw you plenty of times when we last cruised on the Celebration. But you knock it out of the park by showing up for the guests ONLINE - and not just here on the vlogs or your own social media channels, but in the VARIOUS Celebration Facebook groups. You went as far as joining some of the date/sailing specific groups for the first few inaugural sailings. You engage with the guests before, during and after. You’re one of the very few CDs that will answer comments on all social media channels. Looking forward to seeing you again on 11/26!

John Lydgate I know the frustration is real...but...all you can do is your best and from what I've seen it's always 💯! 🙃👍

You can't be everywhere all the time. I also have come to the conclusion that you just can't please everyone. You are the absolute BEST Cruise director. You made our cruise experience that much better. Our excitement was magnified on the daily because of your fun filled events, shows, and parties. We do participate in the events and they are awesome!! Do not feel guilty. As you mentioned, you do PLENTY! If you didn't have a time sensitive schedule you would be pinned up in a corner by all your fans like Mickey Mouse at Disney World. You would never be able to get away 🤪. You are present, active, and heard on board. Also, you need a little time for yourself to unwind and decompress. Keep being the best you can be each day. You are my favorite Lee! Happy cruising!

In my opinion, you and Matt Mitchell are the only two cruise directors available to guest, years ago, it was impossible to get close to them. You're doing a fantastic job, you find the balance to host the shows and also be available to gests. If someone didn't see you, where they have been. Lee, keep up the great work. All the Carnival CD's and Fun Squad do a tremendous job. You can only do so much as an individual, that's why you have the FS. That also gives them the experience and tutelage from a great leader, to grow in their career with Carnival and carry forward The Fun!! Host some events and then be among the guests when your schedule allows! Some pax don't realize your at work. Carry on and love to the entire crew, literally. Carnival will always be The FUN SHIPS, because of you, the other CD's, and their Fun Squads. Plus we saw you 3 weeks ago at the gelato place in Bonaire with the squad! Mmmmm🍦🚢🏝💕

Lee you deserve a Banana Foster after that to do list. 🍨🍌 It sounds exhausting and yet you make it all look so easy and continue to do it with a smile. One of my favorite things about Carnival is how accessible all the CD’s are for pictures, high fives and laughs throughout the length of the cruise. Some of the most memorable Carnival memories my family and I have are from the late night dance parties with the CD’s under the stars. 🌠💃🪩🫏🛳️😊 You rock Lee keep doing what you’re doing and shining your bright light. We sailed with you on the Mardi Gras in April 2020. Saw you many times per day. You do an awesome job and I wouldn't take the comments as criticism. Not sure how they miss you, but I would take the comments as a compliment. If you weren't doing an awesome job then people wouldn't care if they saw you and try to find you.

Lee there’s always someone who thinks they can do it better. I think most of the guests agree that you’re fantastic and I personally don’t know how you do manage to get to so many events every day.

We completely understand how busy you are and appreciate what you do! As for your question, we would prefer you host the main shows but spend as much time as possible out and about chatting. Carnival would benefit tremendously having your wonderful personality represent them in a more personal way. Lee, as everyone has said, you can’t be everywhere. You are only one human being. You are amazing at your job, and when I was on the ship, just your voice making the announcements with your personality always put a smile on my face. I will always remember when some cruisers almost missed the ship in Curaçao and ran to catch it and you came over the loud speaker and said, “welcome back to the ship; especially those last few folks who just sprinted to the ship.” It will always make me laugh to think about.

Lee, you are super precious and amazing! I was just on the Celebration and had a blast! I tried to be at your shows and I wondered, when does this man sleep?! He is everywhere! I feel like you don’t owe us any explanation. You're doing above and beyond on a daily basis to make sure we vacationers have an amazing experience. Thank you for your sacrifice! May God bless you😊

A mixture of both….hosting & out visiting guests. But knowing you’re human, you also need breaks & sleep. You need to find a balance of both or you’ll never be able to be 100%

Lee, although have yet to cruise with you and watching your videos from the start of this channel I have no doubt you are out in about!! For me personally it depends on the CD and if I feel connection or if I don't I still go and enjoy shows and activities. At end of the day, 90 percent of the time we see the CD every day at activities and in between. You deliver incredible energy!! I'm looking forward to cruising with you!! I think walking around ship is important. Keep up the incredible work!!

Lee brings it from the time you get on the ship. The sail away party is electric, as is every other activity he hosts. I don't know when he goes to sleep. Not to mention how fast he changes and gets to the different activities within minutes aboard the ship. Lee is simply amazing.

Lee, totally understand being busy especially on the larger ships. Just getting from point A to point B takes time. I will say that I had the honor of basically almost running into you as you were scurrying down the stairwell after the 80's party. Our hands touched on the railing as I was going up. I knew you were in a hurry and trying to avoid the crowds to get to where you needed to be, you apologized and were kind enough to stop and take a selfie with me (although I would have preferred it with out the wig, but I took what I could get). Not sure how feasible it is, but maybe have some of the fun crew take over an event one day so you can just do a walk-about and mingle. Remember, you are a celebrity to these people, they love you and want to see you.

Hi Lee, according to the carnival website I will be joining you in 54 days. My homeport is Baltimore/Norfolk so I am used to the smaller spirit class ships. I have never been on the XL ships and I can imagine it keeps you quite busy. Enjoy your Emeril's bistro desserts as I am sure you work off the calories running from gig to gig.

I prefer the CD to be walking around and interacting. I feel that makes him more available. As far as the ducks, I found 1 micro duck and gave it to my daughter. From that point on, the hunt was on. It was nearing the end of the cruise and she was literally in tears because she hadn't yer found any, and seeing others with some. That quickly changed. The last couple sea days, she was finding them all over. She ended up coming home with 7. :)

When we had you on the Dream we didn’t know how you were so many places seemingly at the same time! My husband said you must have a secret tunnel that you run through to get where you’re going! 😂 As big as these ships are getting, it’s going to be harder and harder to connect with the CDs, which is a little sad, but not their (your) fault. You are the best CD we’ve ever had, and I hope one day we’ll get to sail with you again.

HEY Lee can’t wait for May 5th to roll around and hear you announcing what’s going on for the day. That way I know IM ON VACATION!!! Lol when is a good time to try to catch up with you and meet you ?? Want to bring you a little something as we do for people that play a big roll in making our vacation extra special. We’re from around the Memphis area about 45 minutes south or there Batesville ms. Is there anything that you wanted but didn’t have the time to get while you were in Memphis we can pick up and bring you??

We were just on the Celebration September 17 - 24, and my Wife made some of those crocheted ducks as well! We thought it might have been one of ours at first, but we forgot to puts tags on them lol.

I was on the Magic recently and felt similar to this person. I only saw Dustin a couple of times, and it did feel like he was hiding unless he was on stage for something. I certainly don't expect one-on-one conversations, but it would have been nice to see him out and about at least once. I feel like this is something you do, though. I've never cruised with you but I'm certain if I did I would be very happy with you being the cruise director.

You are everywhere on the ship so as others have said if they didn't see you then they are skipping nearly all the events. The main task IMO is hosting the shows because with an elite CD like yourself that makes for a more fun show. Which reaches lots of people whereas a conversation is only a few. Since celebration has so much going on the ones you can't host gives an opportunity for the fun squad. The shaking hands and kissing babies with guest is important as well and that can make the difference between a good CD and an elite one.

Don’t feel guilty. There are multiple opportunities for anyone to see the cruise director. You all are so busy, just hearing your schedule makes me tired. Every time we have cruised we’ve seen the CD several times. You may not host everything but they should know they will see you at the Welcome aboard show and the love and marriage.

The Entertainment Director position was supposed to free up the CD for more personal interaction with the PAX. Unfortunately, more CD events have been added which have overridden that intent. When, if ever, could a PAX have a quick coffee and a chat with a CD? Semper Nautica Diem.
