I guess I'm one of the few here that actually liked the SMG1 grand finale galaxy lol. I always looked at it as: The journey is the destination. Something sweet and simple to close out this quest just felt right.

Many people dislike it because you have to complete the game twice before you unlock it. And playing as Luigi doesn't change anything so it's not really worth it.

For me, I found the whole game quite enjoyable. I didn’t mind playing it twice. And I loved to see all the characters of the game in the Mushroom Kingdom.

The easiest level in Super Mario 3D Land is 7 1 because you can literally skip the whole stage with a super leaf

Honestly the hardest level for me in SMG was the purple comet in dreadnought galaxy. So unforgiving! the fixed camera doesn’t allow for depth perception and if you miss one you have to restart the entire level.

Why do people always say things like “oh why is the 100% bonues such an easy level???” Lke, it’s a *reward* . It’s supposed to be *rewarding* . Let me ask you, would you rather get all 120 stars in Super Mario Galaxy *twice* and then get to freely explore Peach’s castle *or* collect all stars and green stars in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and be rewarded with having to beat a harder version of the hardest level and get no reward for it? Edit: Also, how did you forget that cloud kingdom has the first Bowser fight? Like, it’s only empty *after* you’ve emptied it.

In the 2 you do get a reward for beating the prankster comet in GrandMaster Galaxy. It's a thanks for playing letter in your Wii mailbox showing all the stars you have collected.

@@username5155 you misunderstood the prize, it's not the mail but the intention, it's a surprise in your Wii mail box as you don't get notification for it. And realising this message has been waiting for me to read ot for 10 years really warmed my hearth on the moment.

In SMB I always felt like 8-2 is the hardest level. I have died countless times in that level thanks to the spinies and the tricky jumps much more than I ever have in 8-3 or 8-4.

I used to find 8-2 and 8-3 the hardest back then, and its interesting how my perception changed as my skill level grew. Now I can almott always do both without taking damage, but 2-3 and 7-3 I can still die due to bad luck with the fucking jumping cheep cheeps. 8-4's final Hammer Bro is also the single hardest part of the game even though the rest of the level isn't too bad once you know the correct path.

In Mario 64 I’ve always had more trouble on Tick Tock Clock than Rainbow Ride. I have no idea how many times I have died trying to get the 100 coin Star and stomp on the thwomp mission

I always hated that leve right by TTC where you used the wing cap to get the 8 red coins. One little mistake and you were outside the castle and had to go alllll the way back to the top

Both levels are a bitch because of the bottomless pits everywhere. TTC requires more precise platforming, but on the other hand, you stand a small chance there of landing on a lower level instead of falling directly to your doom when you slip up, so it's a toss-up for me.

I remember the 100 coins in rainbow ride was easy if you just first get the red and blue coins. After that I just went to the section without the moving carpet platforms.

As a kid, I had a lot of trouble with the Mario DS hammer bro and Koopa level as it gave me such anxiety crossing through without a fire flower that when I finally finished the level, I started crying out in joy.

The Perfect Run is one of the hardest things I’ve managed to beat in a video game

The hardest levels IMO in Super Mario Galaxy were those motion control ones where you ride a ball through an obstacle course, like Rolling in the Clouds. But that's probably because I'm not very use to balancing games like Super Monkey Ball.

I think that the impossible pack from New Super Mario Bros 2 is the most hardest!

I’m glad Grandmaster Galaxy pioneered difficult final levels in Mario games as they’re essentially final exams. Kirby True Arenas is parallel to this as well.

Excuse your insults towards Mario fans who aren’t pros 😂😂😂. I play the games because I enjoy them and love the adventures, not because I want to die every 5 seconds due to the difficulty level. It doesn’t make me any less a fan. If you like the thrill of virtual death, that’s fine, but I hope I’m not alone in saying that I want the goals to be attainable by someone who has a life outside of Mario games and also wants to teach my nieces and nephews how to play without them giving up immediately. 😭 This is why the Paper Mario series is my FAVORITE.❤️💕

You really shouldn't be _complaining_ about the difficulty of a few select levels in games that contain some of the hardest levels in the series, and phrasing it as if it's an issue with the game as a whole.

9:45 I love the idea of a "100 star coin" but I don't think it's quite right

Wario's castle was such an insane difficulty spike in SML2 that I never managed to beat the game as a kid, even though I loved it. I'd always collect all the coins and then proceed to lose all my lives in the castle (the concept of farming 1-Ups escaped me at that age lol).

I dunno why, but I get a kick out of the idea that Nintendo shouldn't baby their consumers with such easy levels and realize that the fanbase has gotten older and more skilled. Like, there's more out there besides Mario games for challenging platformers, but instead of looking elsewhere, some Nintendo fans will look up at Nintendo like a small child and say "I'm a big kid now. Gimme the hard levels."

I agree with everything you said about Galaxy 1, however the level I personally have the most trouble with is the dreadnought purple coins star. Made me want to pull my hair out because of the awkward camera and gravity.

I feel that battlestation's purple coins from the Dreadnaught galaxy is the hardest star in SMG. The unforgiving platforming combined with an awfully timed camera angle change makes it a very hard stage to complete. It was the last star in my 100% run, and it took me over two hours to beat.

In NSMBDS 5-1 might not be the overall easiest level, but it's not really harder than any World 1 levels. So I'd say in relation to how late it is located, it's the easiest.

Piranha Creeper Creek After Dark is definetly the hardest level in 3D-World in my opinion. Perhabs it's somewhat similar to Champions Road in difficulty, but Champions Road is a lot of fun and Piranha Creeper Creek After Dark is super frustrating to deal with, which gives me a much harder time completing it than Champions Road does.

While it's technicly a Yoshi game, I feel like Yoshi's Island for the SNES deserves an honorable mention, seeing as it's primary objective is saving Mario.

The SuperStar Road Level 2 titled ‘Run For It’ in New Super Mario Bros. U (which I was able to play on my Switch) was a nightmare for me when trying to get all 3 Star Coins.

World 8 airship is definitely the hardest to me because on the other level you talked about if you make it to the end you make it to the end and you beat the level. on world 8 airship you have to actually beat the Boss without choking it all away... Also it's an auto scroller so you have a set amount of time that you have to wait before you get back to the boss only to choke it all away again LOL. I think the moment was just too big for me when I was a kid and the anticipation of finally beating the game caused many setbacks...

SMB3 World pipes are also considered levels, as there is a timer in those. It's the same case as the cannons in NSMBDS that you mentioned

Since the hand trap levels in Mario 3 world 8 are the only place to get raccoon feathers in that world, I think of them less as easy levels and more as difficult item blocks lol

I would definitely disagree on the easiest level in Super Mario Land 2, because in the hippo level you can just hop into a bubble at the very beginning and then float all the way to the end without even getting close to an enemy.

I figured it might not have been added cause it was first released as DLC for NSMB WiiU but it did get a physical release that is completely separate from the main game and if you’re looking for some challenges. That game is full of them

in Odyssey, I think the Dark Side (bunny boss rush) stage is harder. Or at least definitely more annoying and frustrating because of how long it is with all the boss cutscenes, dodge phases and running between them.

Even if you don't choose the Princess in SMB2 World 1-2, you can still make it to the upper platform by throwing a Ninji next to the platform and then doing a power jump from on top of the Ninji when it jumps. Another thing that makes this level easy is that the cherries are arranged in such a way so that you can grab Starman near the end of the stage and defeat Birdo just by touching him. (This is also possible in World 4-2.)

you can subvert SMW'd Tubular level's difficulty by just using a Blue Yoshi. just time holding the shells to keep your wings.

For me NSMB's hardest level as a kid was the Scuttlebug infested level or the meteor level (at least when I was tiny to get a certain secret)

I can't remember whether this was in Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2, but I think for hardest level the daredevil version of the level where you have to beat the rock ghost creature is really hard (cannot remember the name). I remember dying so many times and it was so frustrating

Belive it or not, I actually had trouble with the aquarium because it includes swimming.

you forgot something, SMB1 underwater levels give you NO power-ups

For the first 2d scroller on the ds I always found the one level where the ice platform rose up the whole level I think it was a castle level

I have more difficulty with outrageous then tubular. I have gotten the hang of tubular and you can find a path to go and replicate that path fairly easily every time. But I can’t seem to get the hang of outrageous. The shear amount of enemies that they throw and the plat forming make it hard to dodge.

The hardest levels I played in the Japan version of SMB2 Is World 7-4 and C-4 because of the tricky jumps, the hardest small jumps, and the platforms. It took more than 30 attempts on the levels.

Out of all the mario games I have played one of the games was hard for one level only and that was new super Mario Bros u deluxe with the 2nd to last level in peach's castle as you have to use tilt controls and all the coins bob-ombs goombas and electricity as you go up you can use the p-acorn but the electricity and bob-ombs make it hell

I have a lot more trouble with Outrageous than Tubular

Dark Side's capless timer challenge is so much harder, imo. It demands so much more precision than A Long Journey's End, specially considering all the hearts one can find in ALJE. The only part I usually have trouble with on JE are the Pokio and the Burrbo sections. And maybe the lava forks, but this one only gives me trouble because I like collecting all the coins. And for Super Mario Galaxy, I'd say the purple coins Battlestation, that level with the moving platform, near the end of the game, is so much harder than the bubble one. If there's one thing I learned, be it from Rainbow Ride on SM64, Battlestation Purple Coins in Galaxy, and the Pokio sections from Odyssey, is that Nintendo sucks at having levels that demand depth perception.

An easier way to beat Tubular is to bring a blue Yoshi with you and use its power to fly while holding a shell.

For Super Mario World, I would definitely put Awesome over Outrageous by a longshot and maybe even rival Tubular. An ice level with tricky platforming, enemies everywhere, and Banzai Bills? Yeah, fuck that.

Pretty sure the easiest level in super Mario Galaxy is the Luigi star in good egg Galaxy. All you have to do is do a backflip and land on the roof of the mushroom house and talk to Luigi and that’s it

Super Mario Bros 2. (aka. Yume Kojo Doki Doki Panic) had the one key Mario feature that was NOT included in its original game, the ability to run. This was touched upon in World 1-2 in this video (@2:47). However, the more obvious easy level because of this is actually level 4-3. ONLY as the princess, you can skip almost the entire level (you dont go into the building, you jump the gap and go right to Fry guy.
