In this video, we look at encroaching approaches from the Chinese as the ROC and then the PRC attempt to take back what had been previously given away.

Fun fact: Sun Yat-Sen was exiled for a while in Macau and received inspiration from Portuguese Republicans and their October 5, 1910, revolution via the Macau local section of Portuguese republicans.

Even funner fact: Sun Yat-Sen's house is still a museum in Macau today, and is probably one of the very, very few places under PRC administration - maybe the only place - where you can encounter the current ROC flag. (also: apologies for replying to a four-year-old post, I know it's mildly annoying to get a notification relating to a post from so long ago)

I haven’t heard of this specifically before but doing research of Macau I learned a lot about the ROC’s work reclaiming foreign concessions granted by the Qing. That’s super interesting and I’ll make a video of it. Thanks for suggesting!

I don’t remember saying that but could have. Gosh that was a really long video recording session. So tired at the end of it.

@@Asianometry You actually said "After this acknowledgement". The subtitles didn't pick up on what you were saying, properly.

@@Asianometry You can upload your transcript, and it automatically creates timed subtitles from it. It means near perfect accuracy rather than KZread's autogenerated speech-to-text one.
