Hannah is reunited with her parents. Like June, Hannah is tough. She has never forgotten where she's from, and who she is. Writing her name is her way of saying "I'm still here & I know who I am. I am sure Hannah's Martha, loves her so much. Her Martha has taught her things females cannot know. Hannah has never let herself break. (as Nick called it) Remember in season 1 he says to June "Everyone breaks, everyone". Hanna, under the protection of June & Luke, all work together. To what end, I do not know. 🕊

I don't think Commander Laurence is a villian.. I'm thinking he's going to purposely sacrifice himself in the end, in order to destroy Gilead. He's not just going rogue... he's too smart and is the only commander with a big heart (other than Nick) I think he just can't risk telling ANYONE his plan. He's got nothing left to lose.

Lawrence is a villain , he's basically the founder of gilead ! The plans he made destroyed the lives of millions of people , that's why his wife killed herself and he's aware of damage he's done that's why he's trying to clean the mess he made , i think you like him because he's not a rapist , pervert , religious fanatic like the other commanders but i personally think he's worst than all of them but hopefully he fix this mess , but sadly the damage he made was to great

June osboure dies gilead destroyed . Hannah reunited with dad luke Serena and nick create a new Gilead more free, Gilead in June's honour after her death.

My thoughts- I believe Nick got himself arrested. He is too smart and has too much control over his own emotions he knew what he was doing. Possibly so did Commander Lawrence. This has something to do with the agreement he signed with Tuello. I so hope Janine survives but if she doesn't I hope she goes out in a blaze of glory. Ann Dowd is just phenomenal, her expression of pain and rage and then determination is Emmy worthy.

Ann Dowd makes me hate Aunt Lydia and then feel sorry for her (but not for long). She is brilliant. Just like Yvonne playing Serena - this keeps me up; I am so conflicted about Serena. It's interesting that you think that Nick did that on purpose.

Moira story was tied to Emily, the showrunners had planned to do a story with the June's friend the former Martha with Moira and Emily, they scraped that because the actress left, is what I read at least

@@tatummcgowan5574 yes Rita sorry forgot her name and the actress is wonderful, so sad ,but Emily went back to Gilead and from what I understand they left the door wide open for the actress that plays Emily to return, that's why they didn't just kill her off and only talk about her once really, I hope she can return as it's the final season, until the spin off

Even if Hannah is returned to June it's no guarantee of a happy ending. Hannah has been effectively brainwashed by Gilead and may bitterly resent being yanked out of the only life and culture she knows. She was on her way to becoming the high-status wife of a commander, and going back to her birth family will mean she's "demoted" to being someone's child. -- something very few teenage girls welcome.

What a great commentary for S6! I'm more of a Nick-June fan but his future does seem grim. He is becoming powerless within Gilead and he would definitely be powerless Post-Gilead. I want to see how Serena & June will survive together and I need an alliance between Aunt Lydia, Janine & Esther! I'm living for those storylines. Can't wait

He got himself arrested on purpose. He and Lawrence are playing the long con. New Bethlehem is going to be the base of operations to bring Gilead down from within .

My guess is Aunt Lydia, Serena, June, Hannah etc. all go on the same team against and defeat Gilead.

First and foremost this author was truly brilliant in conjuring up this damm story! This was another great season, sorta revenge satisfaction and redemption in a sense. My thoughts on Nick, I think June getting ran over and Luke getting arrested has been done on purpose by Tuello, and to some extent Nick. Also, him punching Lawrence is another plan after all June and Nick's dream was to live together by the beach! Alot of people perfer Nick & June becaue of their connection and circumstances in Gilead. If you really think about Luke, he represents us because when soliders (in this case June) come back home even though we (Luke) understand what they've been through, we don't. Anyone who experiences alot of trauma can are like that. The only thing you can do is be there for them in the best way you can. I think Hannah has a major role to play in brining Gilead down which is truly sad becaue she won't be reunited with her parents until she reaches adulthood! That's a huge part in her life that she and her parents will never get back. Last note, I really wished they had renamed Nicole after June's mom, Holly. Wasn't Holly the intended name by June? I don't think June's mom should've been forgotten, the little screen time she had, portrayed her as a bad ass and that has been passed on to June! Whatever season 6 brings, I'm sure it will be binge worthy!

If Nick dies, it's as if saying he doesn't deserve to be happy in the end. We've been introduced to Nick's character early on as someone who had a really hard life, struggling to get a job to be able to support his family, and doesn't seem to know happiness. That is why when he fell for June, that is the most valuable thing to him even if they only have short moments together. Then letting go of her and his child, because he himself suffers from low self esteem and just have an unsatisfying depressing life in Gilead. I don't mind Luke and June endgame but let Nick live. June and Nick can be friends (with benefits? 😄)

I think nick is going to sacrifice himself to get Luke out of custody and say to Luke "please take care of my girls that I love more than anything" I don't want to see that happen but I could see nick being noble til the end

I hope Serena finally can see sense after her own experience and helps to fight Gilead. I just know this seasons is going to be epic, can’t wait

There were a lot of interesting things that jumped out at me during this past season. Nick, who is ALWAYS in control of his emotions, acts impulsively and gets arrested? Or did he do that on purpose? Nick is too smart and was always several steps ahead for this outburst to be something random. I see how Lawrence is viewed as the villain but I think we forget, there are others more powerful than him in Gilead. MacKenzie is probably the one who was calling the shots and Lawrence, in his need to survive, stood by and went along with it. Lawrence always did try to fix some of his mistakes and episode 8 showed that he’s aware of the hell he created. Again, I think there are others higher up that are watching and calling the shots. We should remember that Nick and Lawrence had every reason not to be trusted by Gilead’s authority. The children removed from Gilead in season 3 happened under Lawrence’s watch and they know it. Lastly, something about Tuello doesn’t sit right with me. His intentions are never clear and he only takes action when he’s cornered. In episode 8, he finally was able to locate Hannah? So suddenly? At the end of the episode, you can hear fighter planes over the wives school just as Tuello says a raid is happening. They are flying under Gilead’s radar but still blown away before even getting near the school. We never did learn about Tuello’s backstory and I honestly think he’s a double agent. How else was Gilead aware of the raid? There’s definitely leaks in the American gov’t. One quick note, I think the person who sent June the recording of Hannah is someone we are not thinking of. Hannah saw the person recording and said nothing and perhaps knew them? Reminds me that mayday is everywhere and is hidden among some people high up in Gilead.

I think I agree with most of what you said, except Tuello. I don't think he's a double agent, self assured and self centered sure, but just a government authority who sometimes shows his sleeves when it comes to people like Serena or people who have risked a lot against Gilead. I am really starting to suspect MacKenzie had everything to do with the horrors that went down in the last couple episodes. He seems to be testing Nick and Lawrence with every observation and hasn't fully trusted them to do what he wants done.

My theory: nick arrest was a ploy to get him out without the other commanders suspecting

Get him out?? If he wanted out he could easily just cross into Canada at will since he has sufficient power as a rising star among the commanders. He’s already been in Canada and met June in the neutral territory. All he has to do is give a fake reason to investigate defectors near the border and then just cross over as he sees fit.

At the end of the book June was taken by the Eyes and was safe because it was actually Mayday. I’m hoping that Janine is reunited with June, learns the truth about her son and my even get Angela back. Hannah, of course, is a key character in The Testaments in Gilead.

I'm don't necessarily agree with your view on what's going to happen to Nick because as somebody else in the comments has said, he's way too smart for his own good and part of me wonders if that wasn't a setup between him and Lawrence but neither here nor there something I think could be developed a little bit more is Hannah's story. One of the things that they showed when Hannah was last seen was she was writing her name. She remembers who she is and the fact that she was writing her name in a place where she's not allowed to write, I feel there may be hope for Hannah reuniting with June after all

I want Nick and June to end up together. Luke deserves the old June. The June that did not know trauma or pain. This new June loves and belongs to Nick.

In the books spoiler warning ⚠️ ⚠️⚠️⚠️ in testaments Hannah becomes an aunt, helps take down the Republic of Gilead, with mayday, and her half sister as she finds out is now a pearl girl working with the united states' government, a mole, after they take down the republic, they meet Their mother, but they don't say her name, or anything as In the books June may not even be her real name, in the books aunt Linda helps as well , I think June could still have a role to play in the spin off a more limited role maybe Cameos , until the end of the spin off, with June's story we are way past the books already, and I'm am sure they will tie the shows together by the end, I say this but who know what will happen in season 6 lol well we do know some facts it's told by three woman two being June's daughters and one being Aunt Lidia

In the Testaments, at the end, both fathers live.

I think there is still good in commander Lawrence. Since he doesn't want any hangings or torture, and he's not indebted to Naomi only to marry to not ultimately get sent to the wall, i wouldnt be surprised if the black van came to get Janine out of Gilead. Tuello is intentional and its difficult to completely trust him. Sometimes i wonder if he's gonna make a switch or is secretly undercover for Gilead...which i hope not. He's kinda like Human Resources where he seemingly plays both sides. But his true intentions are to have Serena and keep her safe. As for June? Tuello will do what he can, but I wouldn't be surprised if June goes back into Gilead to get Hannah. June could die somehow. But Testament characters are in place where itll l focus on "poison girl", Aunt Lydia, and Hannah. My thoughts.

It’s the FINAL season therefore everyone is expendable. They could kill each one off and make an ending still. Actually I say kill em all off and end the whole world seeing where it is going in the direction of “more gilead” style territories and all. End the humans thus end the entire prospect of “gilead”.

Nick will be reunited with Rose. Single motherhood is not acceptable! 😮Jeannie will return to Gilead take Angela and team up with Aunt Lydia and Esther who was placed as a handmaid at Commander Lawrence’s home! 😮 June and Serena will get off the train before Hawaii! 😊

I think that Lawrence was on his way to redemption. But... Then June told him the details of his wife's death on the phone .. She was understandably angry and trying to hurt him. But, I think he snapped! His wife seems like the only thing that he really ever cared about. I feel like he was trying to fix the version of the future that he had promised his wife, the way it was supposed to be before he used the religious extremists to get it moving... What he was trying to do with New Bethlehem. Now he probably feels like he has lost his reason to get that vision back. And doesn't care if the whole world burns now. He might as well take his seat as the honored architect of new Gilead and reap all of its benefits. The news about the real circumstances around his wife's death have broken his moral compass Lawrence would have been the one to make the call to get Janine picked up. Although there were other commanders present, ultimately he could have come up with any reason why Nick socked him. Gotten nick out of trouble But, it doesn't look like he tried to stop his arrest. I think June made a big mistake in telling him about his wife's death. Every time he has been on screen since, he appears more hostile and cranky. I think that he is the last Boss fight coming in Season 6.

You named all the characters, save one. Rita. She'd better be in 6! She could be of the utmost importance to freeing Hannah. Marthas know tons about Gilead. Rita was a major player in Angel's Flight.

OMG, WHAT A TERRIFIC SERIES ITS BEEN! I watched the last ep last night on 4. Absolutely brilliant and thrilling ending. Just cannot wait to see new series. I hope Luke gets released and finds June. I hope June and Serena team up together! I hope Janine escapes! I want Aunt Lydia to rebel against Gilead! The Handmaids Tale is terrific!

Is anyone else wanting to see if we get an update on what happened to Emily.

I think that Aunt Lydia, towards that last few episodes, was starting to realise that Gilead wasn't what she hoped it would be and was being to turn. So maybe in season 6 going to get Lydia helping in bring down Gilead. Serena after the loss of Fred and being with the Wheeler and seeing how crazy Mrs Wheeler is, Serena is going to be helpful in bringing down Gilead. Janine - Hope that S6 will bring out her best.

I've read both books(The handmaid's tale-The testaments).The two girls Hannah and Nicole meet each other and both live with their mother.The fascism regime of Gilead is destroyed as it happens to all fascist system.

Luke will be acquitted (it was more or less self defense); Nick will die in a fight, maybe while protecting June or Nicholle or when trying to get Hannah out of Gilead. Aunt Lydia will turn on Gilead because Janine will die in the colonies. Hannah will be reunited with her parents and Gilead is going down in the final episode. That's what I think. Oh and Serena will be with Mark, finally.

We have only so far seen Gilead, Canada and the truncated US, it would be good to see what the rest of the world thinks of Gilead and whether they help. Is that why Hawaii was mentioned because it could be a bridge to external help? Surely the rest of the world is not all pro-Gilead.

Gilead is like North Korea. Only far more efficient and with better nukes. Hawai is part of the US. I don't understand why refugees don't move on to Hawaii or Alaska but stay in Canada?

Love these videos that really give no info at all.

I strongly think Nick is gonna to join June in Hawaii and he will bring Hanna with him because he knows how much it meant for June to get her daughter back. Luke might be deported to Gilead and get executed there. Aunt Lydia might possibly fight against Gilead after what happened with Jeanine. And Jeanine might escape somehow and would join Moira.

The Testaments paints a dark picture for season 6 unless it segues into that story. I do think something drastic is going to have to happen for Aunt Lydia to flip. Nicole also has to be separated from June soon for it to happen…unless Esther and someone else fill those roles.

@@ashly1461 what? Fred Waterford couldn't get June pregnant, Serena pushed her into Nick's arms. The love between Nick and June grew out of desperation, and it's not a solid foundation for a relationship

This is not all that’s known. This is simply this guy speculating, just as we all are.

Janine has to die for Aunt Lydia to really plunge forward in her redemption arc. Janine has always been Lydia's favorite girl and she's always had a soft spot for her.

I think Commander Lawrence sent the "Eyes" for June to save her. I also think Luke knew what he was doing when he went into the wedding reception and punched Lawrence. He is too cool headed to play into their hands like that unless he wants to for some reason not yet clear. I wonder where the train is going too - it is going to a good place or will there be some twist.

I hope season 6 completes the story line of Janine. I have heard there will be no happy ending and the season will end abruptly like the book. Nick won’t die. Luke will. Rose is dumping Nick to make him available for June. Aunt Lydia will continue to turn. I think she has already turned. I don’t believe they will kill a fertile HandMaid simply for being mouthy.

So whats the deal with Emily? Last we heard she was going to back to Gilead for some reason, but we never saw her again in season 5

I think next season will be closing statement for June story but not Gilead story. Luke will be probably put to jail. Nick will be Ok, but he won’t have a happy marriage and he will be a double agent. June will continue to fight… I am more interested in Serena and Janine ending. The paths of other characters is more clear. But this show is so good they always can surprise. But I believe Testament to be… To much efforts for Hannah story

This season I felt dipped a bit. It wasn’t as brutal as the previous ones and I’ll be honest I kinda missed that. It felt a bit lost. But that could be due to setting up for the final season. Mind you I cried when Serena and June saw each other on the train. That was a good ending to the season.

Aunt lydia, Lawrence, and nick have done unspeakable acts . Aunt lydia tortured many poor women, Lawrence is basically the founder of gilead and nick fought in the war as a captain or something and killed many people . So i hope they can do good to erase some of their bad karma

I think Janine lives and becomes reunited with Charlotte (Angela) Remember, she's always said "God will take care of her" That's going to come into play.

Luke will be deported to Gilead where he will be reunited with Hannah. June will raise Nicole like she promised Luke she would. She made her choice to let Hannah go.

Nick and June deserve to be together at least nick wasn’t married and had an affair 😂

But are they ever going to question the paternity of Nicole or Noah? Fred was infertile? Or wasn't he...in which case he could be Nicoles dad. OR Serena had an affair?

Now with the writers strike and the actors strike, we may have to wait way longer. I see this was done 9 months ago and the strike hadn't happened. Lets hope they come to an agreement soon. I don't think filming has started yet

I still believe that Lawrence is a good guy! He will save Janine...and Nick! He can't die: in the Testaments he's still alive and June, Nick and luke will be reunited with Hannah and Nicole...Tuello will send Nick to Hawai...and will follow to marry serena😅but Lawrence will probably die...😭 Janine in the car reminds me of Emily in the car: the martha got killed- emily survived...Lawrence might save her! And Nick....but probably not himself...

@@jennifere1701 I think the writers left it open so she could come back if willing, but I don't know the intentions or reasoning for the actresses exit. I think it would be totally up to her.

I think that in season 6, Janine would be alive but heavily injured that would make Aunt Lydia change sides in which that incident would make Lydia and Janine team up, be eachother's eyes, team up with Mayday to tear down Gilead from the inside. Nick would try to help them and he would sacrifice himself if he was trying to bring Hannah to Janine and Lydia.

I love these ideas...but do you think we could predict that ALL of those full frames of June's face may stop? This last season was ridiculous....I know that Elizabeth Moss directed many episodes....yikes...she really enjoys those close ups. Getting really old for all of us who have been watching every season.

I know what you mean , the close ups were very exciting the first seasons but they don't fit in this season they're getting boring and sometimes it's annoying when you want to see the others when she's having a conversation

I think we’re going to see just how much Hannah is June’s daughter. I can’t wait to see that young girl fight for the life that was stolen from her.

What I'm hoping is that Esther will join with Aunt Lydia and will be in the show based on The Testaments. When I read the book I assumed to two girls in it were Agnes and Nicole. I don't know how that will be worked out. Also maybe June could push Serena into a volcano in Hawaii. I really wanted to see Season 5 begin with pregnant Serena in Gilead dressed in red as a handmaid at the Putnams and then sent back to the Red Center, but that happened in a way with the Wheelers. I'm still irked that they killed off Alma, Brianna, Beth and Sienna. Why did they have to do that? And Emily just up and left to return to Gilead? I hope she'll be in Season 6. I believe June should be with Luke, even though she's in love with Nick

what bothers me is that Hannah is aging normally so when they talk about her they say it is the same amount of time passed as in real life but Hannah was 8-10 years old when her mom gave birth to Nikole it is season 5 and Hannah is 12/13 and Nikole is 1 year old. She should be 2/3 by now at least.

If/when Nick dies, this series dies for me. When he and June are together, the temperature in the room goes up a thousand degrees. Sorry Luke, the same doesn’t apply to you.

If Canada has a grand jury, I don't think they'll charge Luke. Janine has always had nine lives, so I think she and Nick will escape together. Lawrence will ultimately turn against Gilead.

I have always felt it would ultimately be Serena that would help June get Hannah.

Aunt Lydia is the MOLE in Gilead! She is responsible for the ultimate demise of Gilead.. it’s clear that the Testaments drives her into the main character which I’m so excited to see…

Just finished The Testaments. I hope the shows writers stay true to the book.

Plot twist: As June and Serena head west, they will be north if Colorado Springs, where Hannah is. June leaves Nicole with Serena while she disembarked and heads back into Gilead to try and get Hannah.

I could see that happening especially because serena did in her own way love Nicole. I think serena now knowing what a handsmaid feels like has changed her ways.

Why do I NEVER see these obvious signs.. like how Serena & June "mirror" each other? For a while there, I thought maybe Hannah forgot about her resl parents & might want to stay in Giliad in the only life she knows. But now I see she does.

So what's happening with Emily?

I know a lot of people aren’t a fan of the Serena redemption arc and I completely understand why. She is an evil person, and she’s done so many abominable things. While I do want her to change and to become a better person, I don’t want them to gloss over everything she did. I want her to pay for her crimes, for the countless lives she destroyed. That said, I do think her and June working together is a smart choice since Serena albeit having been a wife in the regime, still knows more about the power structure than June and most people outside of Gilead. She can be useful. Especially when it comes to her knowledge on faith and politics. Serena is a well spoken woman, this was shown in the time before. If she could use her way with words and people against Gilead, she could become a force to reckon with, especially with June who has in a way become a notable face in the revolution against the theocratic regime. It gives a chanced for Serena to make up for what she did(although truth be told she could never fully) in a way that is extremely beneficial to people within Gilead. At least those who aren’t loyal to the regime. And maybe then they can take it down, not as friends, but as allies. Allies against a common enemy. Doesn’t mean they like each other, doesn’t mean Serena is a good person, doesn’t mean Serena deserves pity or forgiveness, what it does mean is that she can be useful and make an impact for all those that want to/deserve to be free.

I think Nick will die next season but I don’t think it will be for what he is arrested for right now. He told his wife “you can’t leave” and I think she is going to think her dad can just kill him (probably what he does for most her problems lol) but Nick will have something on him or something the guy needs so he will keep him alive and force his daughter to stay married. Hell he might do it for the sake of his daughter if it was hard finding her a husband cause she can’t remain single that’s almost a death sentence for women in Gilead. Wasn’t Nick the leader of the eyes? I could’ve swore the guy he use to drive for that started all this with commander Waterford gave Nick control of the eyes cause he didn’t trust Waterford but it seems like they are walking that back or purposely trying to keep Nicks position Vague. If he is their leader I can’t see them killing him without really good cause and even then if they didn’t see it and he says he didn’t do it they will probably believe him. I think season 6 will start off with the execution of Janine and that Martha. Even though I don’t think Aunt Lydia deserves redemption they seem very committed to going down that path (which has turned Aunt Lydia into a completely different character imo) so she will start to fight Gilead and commander Lawrence hopefully it gets her killed. You are right about Lawrence he is going to be the last big bad and it’s made worse cause you know he doesn’t even believe in any of this crap like the others do.

What are you talking about. Nick lives in Testaments. You’ve never read Atwood.
