I return to this cover often. It's so gorgeous. This family is a treasure.

I’ve been following Noah since I was 14/15. I’m 25 now. Saw him in Detroit at some charity concert with switchfoot And I specifically came for Noah and didn’t even know who switchfoot was but apparently they were a big deal lol and then in college when he finally had his own headlining show. Met him both times after and talked to him.. Real nice guy, old soul. His music will always be something special to me. When my grandma passed away a few years ago and I had really bad insomnia for weeks all I listened to everyday was carry the ghost and ledges album my entire junior year of college. He’s that artist whose got me through hard times in life but also have enjoyed him during really enjoyable periods like wanting to share his music on a mixtape in high school for a crush. I found him on tumblr belting out moss on a rolling stone and was hooked ever since. I know it’s become a bit cliche to say your favorite artist is underrated but Noah totally is. I wish I had the words to describe the depths of his soul comforting mine, awakening me to new insights of uncovered, buried emotion I’ve suppressed.. since Noah is older than me, it’s interesting how some of his life experiences he’s went through and wrote about in songs would be put out a few years ahead of the similar situations that would eventually happen to me/ i would experience later. So I’d like the song cause it was just a good song/ would stir beautiful emotions in me but then when I had a certain type of relationship dynamic like in cigarettes or first defeat I could go back listening to it with a deeper understanding and shared experience.. anyways. his whole family is extremely talented. I love the love And dedication that pours from everything they do. I typically don’t pour my heart out on KZread comments but it feels like one of those times you leave long notes for people you care about

Chelsea Perry same. going through a divorce, his song Robin Williams has been a rock for me. Songs of sadness can help give voice to the pain and help “turn the night into day” Very thankful for him and his crew.

Chelsea Perry huge respect for opening your heart up like you did, it’s funny how music is one of the strongest escapes when the good times aren’t rolling... I absolutely understand how you feel. As beautiful as this song is, have you heard the original by Blaze Foley? John Prine (who they dedicated this too about a month ago when he passed away) made the song more famous then ablaze did sadly, and from a metal head and musician, I love any genre if it’s done well, especially country, but do yourself a favour and check out Blaze Foleys version

Could not agree more. I’m 71 years old an have seen music an bought albums of most genres for more than 60 years an Noah an family are easily in top 5. Noah is my favorite writer I’m sure if he decided he could write the great American novel. Well any way thanks for the music it has touched my heart an soul.

Some of his friends looked at him strange, because Prine had spent much of a night with Foley. Prine says, well if it was behind the Armadillo World Headquarters, he is not surprised he doesn't remember it.

Honestly this made me like Blaze less.

I love the fact that they KNOW the history of this song and the greats who came before them. You can see the respect in their faces, and then the live and joy for each other at the 3:00 mark.

Absolutely mind blowing!!! The exact time of 3.02 is what it's about, them smiles say it all. I know how that feels and I miss it so much, don't ever stop.

Absolutely! My partner and I often talk about covers, when they’re appropriate, how well they’re done in terms of has someone just repeated the track or like this version that they have taken and made their own, in which even though was dedicated to John Prine when he passed away (last year was it?) make Blaze proud indeed!.. Even the kids love this track, and more of his music now after all watching ‘Blaze’ the film Ethan Hawke wrote and produced if you’ve seen it? Sorry mate, I get a bit carried away when talking about Blaze, he literally changed my life after hearing this track, more specifically the ‘Live At The Austin Outhouse’ version... Be well my friend
