The Gruvrå: Swedish Spirit of the Mine | Scandinavian Folklore Explained

In this video we explore the Swedish guardian spirit or rå known as the Gruvrå - the Mine Spirit, who is often strongly linked with the bergsrå (mountain spirit). These beings were said to protect, help and sometimes harm miners depending on if they and their mine were respected or not.

This is the best video i have ever seen on this subject. Names are soo important and to break down the name like this is amazing. Please do this in all your videos if you will. The way people named things back then was different but every bit as important as it is today. Their names usually gave them a description of who or what they did. This is such an making video. Never before seen information is so hard to find. Thank you for this. I truly appreciate it.

Thank you! I usually try to include the alternate or regional variations of names but the gruvrå and mountain beings have so many, there are almost certainly ones that I missed
