The Grooming Table: How to Brush a Double Coat (Dry Bath)

I'm Jun the Groomer, and welcome to The Grooming Table!
In this episode, we'd like to share with you what we do when our 11 year old Jindo-mix, Angel, starts to shed a lot (blow coat). All double coated dogs like Angel are constant shedders - it's actually a sign of a healthy skin & coat. However, about 2-3 times a year it tends to get out of hand.
Rather than give her a bath, which wouldn't really help the situation - and could actually cause her to smell even worse after a few days - we believe it is better to give her a thorough brush out (carding). Remember, #BrushMoreBatheLess :-)

WOW!! Confession time -- I've had my Jindo mix for 2 years (my first dog) and I've ONLY been using a furminator every few days. No other tools/combs!! Your video leads me to believe that I should get at least one more type of comb to use. Should I get the greyhound comb or the rake one? Note: my Jindo mix is much smaller and his hair is not as thick. He stays clean and never gives off an odor. But he does shed everywhere and I'm now worried that if he's "uncomfortable" since I don't groom him properly. =(
I have a cavishon and take him to the groomers once every 2 months but would like to groom him at home between salon visits. Would you recommend some tools that I can use on his thick coat between visits??
