Jahaerys used to sing this very song to Vermithor, big old nasty boy to calm him down. Vermithor refused any riders since Jahaerys. Daemon convinced him otherwise.

@@millieboon Silverwing was Good Queen Alysanne's dragon, which Helaena claimed. Vermithor was older, and was known as the Bronze Fury.

Aegon loved the adoration from the people because he's been neglected by his family, especially his father, his whole life. The crowd cheering for him started to change his attitude because it's the first time he's felt that.

I don't know how ppl don't pick up simple things like this. Not bragging but I guess I'm a more sophisticated viewer 😂😂😂 I see a lot of ppl shocked that Otto was planning to install Aemond. Like dude said this 50 times in so many ways. Bro isn't doing this for the "realm," he is doing it so his family, his blood can have a direct line to the throne. Selfish bastard. He is like Tywin - great character, but not some benevolent guy looking out for the good of the realm without self-service.

The reason why you noticed Arrax was uneasy when Lucery left the castle back to him is because they can feel their rider's feelings and emotions, the bond between dragon and its rider is powerful and Lucerys himself was pretty shaken after the whole situation with Aemond in the hall. That's why Lucerys tried to calm Arrax down. That's why you also saw images of Syrax roaring as Rhaenyra was giving birth at the beggining of the episode. People tend to miss those details.

Aemond must have forgotten he said losing an eye was worth it to get a dragon.😐

The thing with that last scene is that, first of all Luke was send as a messenger. Aemond broke all the laws of westeros that gave Luke his safety. Aemond also decided to take a 180yo dragon who has been used for wars her whole life to chase a 14yo baby dragon with no experience in any fighting. Arrax feels Lukes emotions➡️gets scared➡️ attaks Vhagar = dragons out of control. Because of that Luke gets killed and Aemond acting surprised as if it wasn't his fault. As Viserys said "The idea that we control dragons, is an illusion"

Dragons are intelligent and like human's take things personally. When that little dragon breathed fire at Vhagar, she took that personally. No way was she going to tolerate that from the little dragon.

I think both can be true at the same time. Aemond knowing the danger and being shocked when it actually happens. It’s always different when you imagine or anticipate something or when it’s actually happening. (I’m not here to defend him, I’m just tired of the discussion if he was aware of the danger or not 😂 as if that determines how he’s „allowed to“ feel once it happened.

Rhaenys “the Queen who never was” is my favorite character in the show. She has many reasons to be bitter, but she doesn’t cling to hatred.

Rhaenys didn't bend the knee because she couldn't commit her house to war without consulting her husband, the head of her house.

I don’t think it is the reason. She does not need to consult Corlys on their alignment: the Velaryons swore allegiance to Rhaenyra and as she stated, ‘[their] word is not fickle’. Plus, Baela and Rhaena are now engaged to Jace and Luke. The decision to go to war or not actually belongs to Rhaenyra and Rhaenyra only. Considering that Rhaenys thinks that Laenor was murdered by Daemon and Rhaenyra, she does have mixed feelings about rallying them, but she is smart enough to hide it to Alicent.

Incorrect. They could have remained neutral as Corlys suggested. Why else didn't she bend the knee when Rhaenrya was crowned? Also note when Daemon asked where Corlys was sailing, she said that the fleet does as he orders.

@@havok6280 my point is that the decision of war belongs to Rhaenyra, not Corlys. As for the Velaryons’ alignment, the official line when Rhaenys talks with Alicent is that the house supports the heir Viserys appointed. Of course, she discusses the situation privately with Corlys when she returns to see where he stands before reasserting their commitment in front of Rhaenyra.

The coronation takes place at the Dragonpit. The dragons are kept below, this is how Rhaenys can get Meleys and escape through the ceiling. The Great Sept is short for the Great Sept of Baelor - same building, built later as you said 😊

The Sept seen on this show is called the Great Sept or the Grand Sept. The Sept of Baelor is an entirely different structure.

@@hoon_solPlease read the Great Sept of Baelor article on Elio and Linda’s site (on their ASOIAF wiki, ‘a wiki of Ice and Fire’). It is the only reliable source if you want truly canon information. The wiki of Westeros and Reddit threads are filled with errors and approximations. Alicent is probably going to one of the 4/5 pre-existing septs to the Great Sept of Baelor (= the Great Sept). Maybe she is going to the one on Visenya’s hill, which is one of the largest ( this is the place where the Great Sept is later erected by Baelor. Maybe the show is calling it ‘Grand Sept’ but again, it is not canon. The source material is not mentioning it it seems.

A bet the scene at storms end with vhagar making her self known would’ve been fucking incredible in the cinema

In true Viserys fashion, Rhaenyra delays and trying to be reasonable (unrealistic really) will ultimately lead to more deaths. This sh** could have been over much earlier. The plan to cut off Kings Landing was brilliant. But dragons should have been flying immediately to secure those alliances. She fucked up.

Incorrect. In her youth she was the fastest. She's much older now.

Remember, if they tell Corlys and Rhaenys that Laenor is alive, then Rhaenyra's marriage to Daemon comes into question, and therefore their marriage, and therefore the legitmacy of Rhaenyra's entire blood line (the Strong boys, and the kids she has with Daemon). Their entire reason for doing what this did what to sure up her claim to the throne and to create a deep line of succession.

Slo mo with queen rhaenyra was just perfect. Chills. Team black is the team.

Let the war beggins. One little fact: with this miscarriage Rhaenyra lost her only daughter.

Helaena had a dragon dream just like King Viserys she can see the blue game of future be really thoughtful and pay attention to her when she says in the show may give you guys a clue.

Aemond Targaryen is an anime villain come to life.

Remember how I said listen to Helaena? People think she’s crazy and mad but she has visions. In S1 when kid Aemond said he wanted a dragon she said “He will have to close an eye first.” In this episode she mentions rats cause of Blood and cheese. Her random lines mean something for the future

Guys, there're good videos from a lot of good KZreadrs explaining the intro of house of the dragon. I'll help you guys understand the intro plus there're no spoilers.

Poor Mr. October suffering through the birth scene 😂😂 This season has the most brutal and realistic birth scenes for real!

Mesaria the white worm was working with Otto. She provided his little birds because she had people on the inside of the castle feeding her information. But they never met before this episode. He only knew “white worm.” Then, Larys comes to Alicent and tells her Otto has little birds everywhere feeding him information. He persuades/manipulates her into letting him “cleanse” the palace of such little birds and restaff. Then we see that house on fire, that was Messaria’s house, that she slowly built up with the little birds. We don’t know for sure who did it, but really otto had no reason to cut off his little birds. We are sort of led to believe that otto may have done due to their conversation but, it doesn’t really behoove him. She was Larys’ competition and he got rid of her. This is why in season 2, episode 1 Larys is telling Alicent he restaffed the castle.

Love that you caught up in time to watch Season 2 in real time, you powered through these fast and with the great insights still top quality...biting my nails for tonight's episode #4 iykyk

White Worm didn't kidnap Aegon, she hid him, then sold his location to Otto. Then she got her establishment burned down by Larys. Busy day for her.

You two are great reactors, always so attentive and you remember stuff from the beginning.

Alicent is convinced the same way Rhaenyra is in that the survival of themselves and their children depends on who ultimately inherits the throne. If anything Lucerys’ death at the hand of Aemond only reinforces this belief and makes war an absolute certainty.

@TheOctobersReact So Rhaenys did this because she had to get th heck out of there and was not about to let the Hightowers have her dragon to use against her. Rhaenys saw they locked her up and saw that they hung everyone who didn’t immediately fall in line. So she had no option other than to get the heck out of there because Otto would for sure would have had her killed as soon as he used her against Rhaenyra in some way.

Otto would have tried to persuade her to side with Aegon. Rhaenys would still have said no but in the meantime, she's a valuable hostage giving Team Green serious leverage to prevent Lord Corlys and his fleet from openly joining with Rhaenyra.

We’ve watched Mrs. October cringe at every gruesome incident during GOT, but she doesn’t even flinch due in birth scenes during HOTD, whereas Mr. October can’t even look.

King Baelor the Blessed hasn't been born yet, But you've just met his father in previous episode.

The most important and outstanding lesson from this season/show: childbirth is the woman's battlefield! All the best for season 2 from the Netherlands!

Rhaenys rides Meleys, The fastest Dragon in the world, One of the oldest. Before her? It was ridden by Daemon and Viserys's mother. Meleys was also the first dragon ridden by Viserys and Daemon as a child. She's known as The Red Queen. Her head has spikes that resemble a crown. Perfect for Rhaenys, isn't it?

Swear to us Mrs October, you will sing Rhaenyra's Theme again when you hear it. It was just as beautiful.

Nice, few viewers catch on that Aegon (according to Alicent's wishes) wears the Conqueror's crown on first watch. And that Viserys had another. But no mention of the poor smallfolk being trampled by Rhaenys. :( And no Tony, they're not all Aegon supporters, it's not like they have much of a choice, eh? ^^ EDIT : my bad, you actually do honour the innocents killed by Rhaenys in the convo between eps, I take that back. ^^

Vhagar is terrifying! If I was team Rhaenyra my first move would have been to take that off the board. By taking out Vhagar’s rider (Aemond) then claiming Vhagar for their side. Or by just killing Vhagar by feeding it a bomb or something.

I find Rhaenyra's a much more affectionate mother to her children way moreso than Alicent.

That is not the Sept of Baelor as Baelor hasn’t been born yet. It’s just the main Sept that the people of King’s Landing use. It can also be reasoned as to why Aegon was crowned in the dragon pit instead of the Sept where we have seen future kings like Tommen and Joffrey have been crowned.
