Very enjoyable, peaceful yet stimulating episode. Love the tweedy pieces, particularly the check, that you are using for the background of your beautiful embroidered birds. Makes me want to find some thrifted pieces or old Harris Tweed sportcoats and save the lovely fabric - maybe a patchwork reupholstered armchair, or a rug. Your podcast gives us what feels like a very authentic glimpse into the unique life you've crafted for yourself and those close to you.

Your drawings are simply beautiful!!!Your walks with your darling Jack reminds me of my walks with my daschie, Matilda ( who is trying to help me type as I write :) ) I have on my farm here in Australia. Looking forward to your future projects and podcasts. Best wishes Carol

Awwww, thank you so much for showing a close-up of darning your sock. My mother recently passed away, and I was traveling from across country. Dad asked us to take items that reminded us of Mom. Since I was flying, it had to be something small, the one thing that reminded me so much of my childhood was her darning egg. Now I'll know how to fix my knitted socks 🧦 🍄❣️

Katie, it is a lot easier to set a sleeve if you roll it over your fingers with the sleeve fabric on top with your fingers pushing up from underneath to emulate the shape where it curves over your shoulder. It makes it easier to distribute the ease, especially at the places that have the most curve. I hope that makes sense and helps. That being said, I am impressed with the caliber of your sewing and pattern adjusting! You dive right in and it is brilliant. Fiber sisters have to support one another to my mind😉

Hello Katie and Jack, I came across you this past weekend August 8 2020. I have seen the first 9 of your podcasts. You are absolutely what I've been looking for to keep me company while I knit my projects along with my fur babies, Diesel my dog and Mia my cat. Your voice is soothing, relaxing and I love to see your walks with Jack. You are an extremely talented woman, you are down to earth, calming and I absolutely love your podcasts and how you present them. I will continue to watch your past podcasts and catch up lol...and I will definitely continue to watch for you and beautiful Jack. Best of luck from Toronto Canada🇨🇦. Greetings 💝

I love love love your beautiful podcast and all the things you do, lovely intro, succinct and heartwarming, just like you. I did see one of your podcasts last year and lost it so now i"m subscribed and won't lose you again. xxx I think many of us are multi creatives and that's what makes our world go round! I love Jack. he's so chuffed to be kissed - our Hunni is the same, adores being smooched with. I love your shirt and oh how exciting it is to see your own prints on fabric. I'm so glad to hear about the printing company. I love the sheep and can see a very sweet dress made in that. After all, I'm a yarny too so why not herald the joys of sheep?? :-) did you take Jack on the weekend away? I handbind my own journals so I do the storyboard for ideas too. It's good how flexible the storyboard can be - just a guide...like knowing you can make the rules and break them. :-) It's such a lovely way to 'set things out'. I watched with great interest as you described the comic and I thought it worth mentioning how much a storyboard talks to the viewer because I was going to ask, Did you meet Will at the spot or go togethe and the storyboard TOLD me that already. How adorable is that? I studied a bachelor degree with honours in writing and literature and love teaching zines and graphic novels to high school students when I sometimes visit schools as the artist in residence. I see so many situations as graphic novels lol! Your bird project is divine -I did this in a small way with flowers, embroidering some and making patchwork blocks with the alternate ones. the birds look so beautiful on the tweed! good idea to alternate the bird blocks with green -a colour we share the love of. Great darning job on the sock -I use that kind of weave for the spines of my handbound books! it's so satisfying weaving. And last of all, who does your videoing? thanks again. If I don't finish this now, I'll keep writing until midnight hehehehehe! Love Lu in Australia

Lovely to see your excitement about your self designed fabric, congratulations! Just ordered some for me, I will try to sew a project bag and face masks out of it. 😌 Did you poke through the paper when doing your paper piecing? Remember you have to remove the paper templates after assembling the pieces. At least thats how I did it with paper piecing years ago (pre-knitting period) 😉 Hugs from Germany 🤗

  • @KatieGreenBean

Love your pod cast. Every time I see you put in a sleeve I cringe and remember there is a much easier way to sew a sleeve. They have been the least thing I liked to do either. Don’t sew your side seams to the garment first. Do sew the shoulders and if at this point you start to fit the sleeve in it will go much better. Then you can sew the side seam up through the sleeve it self. Good luck. Say hi to Jack for us. Barbara and Riely (my silent side kick). I forgot. If you get some bees wax and run your thread through it first your hand sewing will be much more easier to deal with.
