I absolutely love your beetle shirt. Simply stunning, from design to pattern finish. Spot on! 😊😉
So lovely. Many Thanks. 👏🙏🏼💕🇨🇦
I just discovered your channel and couldn’t be more excited/happy/surprised/content ! Your podcasts are inspirational and so “real” it feeds my heart . I feel like I’ve found a friend 😊. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely corner of you tube Katie.
You are so amazing! Thank you for bringing sanity and a breath of fresh air to my life!!!
So nice to find you and your podcast this morning. Thank you.
Thank you for a wonderful episode filled with creative inspiration.
How surprising to hear you mention quilting and then in the same episode reading Earthsea books - my son bought me Tales of Earthsea for Christmas as Ursula K Le Guin is his favourite author, after I finished Left Hand of Darkness, in which she paints vast landscapes and cultures with surprisingly few words and us so very moving. Adoring the beetle shirt and smiling at the dungaree oops - I’ve had a few of those with sewing patterns. Amazing watching you in lockdown and looking back from the future - it brought it all back and what a remarkable and strange moment in our modern civilisation. Highest regards Katie ❤
I saved your podcast to watch tonight as a calm time. Thank you.
the countryside is so expansive that i can't imagine how you can live so close to it. It's incredible. Just a walk away and you are on top of the world. amazing.
I also love the stability of seams 😊👏🏽
Oh yay, I have just recieved my copy of graphic novel (and other orders of zines ec) and I'm over the moon, Katie. thank you so much and thank you for sketching Jack in the front. I adore him. I'm working my way through it - I don't want to rush, there's so much on each page to discover and re discover. i went away on the weekend to teach needlefelting and linoprints on fabric and had such a huge load of supplies to take that i was disappointed I couldn't put the novel in my suitcase ( I was already way over the allowed weight and had to pay extra! :-0 hehehehehe!) but it's here now that I'm back so i can read more. Thank you so much, Lu in Australia xxxx
Thank you for another lovely video. I find them soooo relaxing. Knitting usually does that for my mind, but this is relaxation for the soul x
Lovely episode as always!!! My 4yr old also loves watching your videoa too ^_^ she wants me to tell you how much she loves Jack!!! Thank you for another lovey video, definitely needed at the moment!!!xx
Such a lovely episode! Thanks so much for sharing your makes with us and the beautiful moor. I get so much joy watching Jack run along!
I can't tell you how much it means to me see Dartmoor and have some calm creative inspiration at the moment. I'm just the other side of the moor in Exeter and missing it like crazy as we haven't been up since lockdown started. Thank you for your grace and sharing your artistic practice with us all.
Also really loved our nature walk and music! Thank you
Thank you for this wonderful episode. I think it is my favourite one of all so far! You got me ordering a new fun fabric tonight, lol. I am currently also sewing a lot more. And as for knitting: After I had finished the Seer Cloak, I moved onto a knit a long by Arne&Carlos. I have knitted 36 patches of different designs. I also came up with a few of my own. I am currently knitting on my last two, then I will sew them together and make a quilt out of them, adding a cotton fabric to the back and ruffles all around. Thank you so much for the book presentation. I haven`t heard of the Earthsea books yet. They sound just like the sort of books I would read as well. Therefore I have put all 6 of them on my Amazon wishlist. I have currently ordered the 6 books of "The Children Of Green Knowe" and read two so far. I looooove them! I also have "The Chronicles of Narnia" and Harry Potter of course. Lord of the Rings and All kinds of Peter Rabbit stories, 2 lovely Books of James Harriot`s All animals Great and Small and so on. I am truely in love with English Literature, which is why it was my major in studying Elementary- and Highschool teacher. My other major was home economics and of course textile. I live in Germany. :-) As in works in progress: I have my very own Fantasy Novel, written in german language, which I am currently translating into English. It is a long taks, kindà like your new quilt, lol. Somehow I do wish for a fairy godmother to come and magically translate my novel for me, haha. That way I can concentrate on yet another wip of knitting, which is the "Ranunculus Sweater" :-) Thank you for this wonderful Podcast Katie. You made my evening. Huggs from the Schurwald Forset, where fairys roam and dragons sleep in their mossy caves, dreaming of a brave knight to come and steal their treasure, haha. Huggs, Christina
🤗 Another very enjoyable episode. Katie I so enjoyed seeing you work on the illustration and your explanation of the “blue” on it - very interesting! The new top and soon to be sweater I love! As always I enjoy the walks. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Katie, from North Carolina, USA. I quilt, wool applique, knit, and cross stitch. Basically, I have too many hobbies. I find it easiest to blanket stitch in hand. By not using a hoop, it means I'm sewing from the top of the fabric instead of stabbing and moving my hand from front to back. Your bird quilt is a charming idea. I don't believe I've commented on prior videos but I am a regular viewer and enjoy yor podcast very much.

Thanks so much for this suggestion, Jan - I hadn't even thought of that. I'll give it a try, I'm sure it will speed things up a lot :)
Thank you for a beautiful and interesting episode! I don’t have a lot of time for crafting with my kids home full time and it makes me rush through things - but when I watch this I am reminded to slow down and take care with what I do! It makes it soo much more enjoyable as well as improving the quality! Attempting to slow down......😊
Wonderful that you mentioned Earthsea! That has to be my favourite books as well and they hold up so well throug the years. I read them as a child and was excited to give them to my nine year old this year. He liked them as well and just ploughed throug them.
Another lovely and peaceful podcast. Thank you! 💕
I also love the shirt! Well done😊
Thank you for an enjoyable hour. I love Ursula LeGuins books, and I have been listening to some of them during the last month. Your walks with Jack are nice to see when I’m cooped up at home, and the music is beautiful.
I also love the Earthsea Quartet and read it on my honeymoon. Absolutely loved it 👌
It's always a pleasure to watch you at work! Thank you Katie!
Katie, you are a busy girl! Always a pleasure to be able to see what you are up to. Enjoy the drawings, and the other bits too!
Love all your makes - they inspire me! Great episode as always! I have sewn clothes for myself and others my whole adult life (I am a lot older than you are) and there are always projects that are somewhat disappointing and not at all what I had hoped, but I learn and keep sewing.
Thanks for sharing, I love watching you when you are drawing, thanks for explaining it in detail as you do because I was wondering why you were doing blue sheep. Thanks for taking us all out on the Moors 🐏💖🐏

Haha yes, I couldn't leave that in without explaining - it would be very confusing!
Hi Katie, greetings from the Isle of Mull! Thank you so much for another wonderful podcast - always so inspiring and relaxing to watch. Look forward to the next one 😀
I am just "rediscovered" your channel, it is such a joy to watch and exactly what I need right now. Calm, interesting, beautiful and all the lovely things you make! It was very interesting to see you coloring the picture for the Annual! I hope to see you soon again! - heading over to patron now ;)
Hello Katie, I am new to your podcasts. I absolutely love the walks with Jack. You take me to places I may never travel to and I love it! You are a very talented artist and I am amazed as you draw and paint. Thanks for your wonderful content. Anna
So many marvelous moments.. appreciate your insights and recommendations for Ursula Le Guin.novels... now on my list.
Simply lovely. I loved seeing your drawing transform into the end result. When you were first painting the blue on the sheep, I was a little confused; then you said masking fluid and it all made sense! So, it looked like you were drinking from that stream. Wow, that's not really possible here. Though yesterday I went on a glorious hike to my favorite spot where a spring flows seasonally and got to quench my thirst there. I filled up my large water bottle and I've been drinking spring water all day now. So glad you had some fun sewing to turn to when the first project didn't work out. Your sewing prowess makes me realize just how much I'm not a sewist. I've managed to make 1.5 shirt in the past few years. Okay, so I guess not much prowess is needed to demonstrate how I don't fit the club! Ah well. In college, I got to take a fantastic class called the Fundamentals of Fiber Arts. The teacher was a wonder and she made a quilt for each of her adult children. One of her daughters was an art history major and requested each square to be a recreation of paintings. My teacher wasn't finished with it yet, though she was impressively far along. Each square was the most magnificent piece of art where she used texture and fabric to capture the essence of Klimt and Johannes Vermeer and others. I still haven't gotten over being stunned by the glory of this quilt! I think your project is going to be in the same class as hers. Lastly, when you talked about being friends with the characters in books, my mind jumped to Pippi Longstocking. What a good friend she was. It could be fun to spend a some time with her again. xoxo, Chloe
Based on your recommendation, I just read A Wizard of Earthsea, and I want to sincerely thank you! I have had trouble focusing on reading these days, but this book changed that by drawing me in immediately. The edition I read also had an afterward by Ursula LeGuin that was equally riveting. Thank you again for inviting me along to Earthsea!
Hi! Nice to meet you! I 💜 your podcast! Thank you from Rome, Italy. See you soon🧚🏻♀️🧶🧚🏻♀️
Oh, I’m in the middle of Wizard of Earthsea as well!! I completely agree with you about the language. It’s soothing and full of wisdom and I find myself rereading phrases that resonate and make me crave for a simpler order of things. As is your podcast, a delightful companion on that stolen hour of calmness
Wow!! This was a substansibel episode ...thank you. I was inspired to try my version of birdquilting!! Will start any day now ( she says with a wry smile!) Also liked the nice way of mending a sleeve....will try that next time.... Sorry my english spelling is not always right but I think understandable...All the best, the very best
Thank you for all you share Katie! Gosh, how far do you walk?! I love seeing the scenery and the escapades with Jack.
Lovely as usual, thank you. Also Earthsea! Tehanu is probably my favourite book.
Was thrilled when you produced the Earthsea Quartet as one of your very favourite reads as it's a book I, too cherish. I love her style, here and also in Left Hand of Darkness. My absolute favourite book is The Tombs of Atuan. The atmosphere of stillness and darkness of the caves that Tenar traverses still haunts me, in a beautiful other worldly but very familiar and ancient way.

Hooray! So happy to hear of other Earthsea fans!
Thank you, wonderful, as always.!
Well I never thought I’d be watching someone patch a sweater but that was actually very interesting. 🤔

Hi Jen and welcome, thanks so much for hanging out with me and Jack. Your feedback means so much, and it's a pleasure to be able to bring some of my beloved walks to folks not able to access the area, for whatever reason. Thank you for taking the time to watch and for saying hello :)
I'm a big fantasy fan so I put Earthsea on my to read list immediately. 😉 Thanks for an other beautiful episode!
Hey. Thanks so much for the video. so inspiring. I also have my own channel and I am a beginner illustrator, watching your videos, I was inspired to shoot differently.
That was a beautifully calming podcast, thank you
Hi jack! You make my day❤️
Have you seen the pattern Damejakka Bislettbekken by Pinneguri? It's only in Norwegian - but has beetles on the cardigan along with foliage :-)
Earthsea is one of my favorites as well.
Ooh Katie I love your elbow patch 💚👍
Hi Katie! Loved this podcast. Your "clown pants" were too funny. Makes you wonder who would ever fit those? I love to see you and Jack out on your walks.

I think the pattern would be perfect for folks who are little more straight up and down. Definitely not right for me!
If you love fantasy books, read David Eddings Belgariad (1st) and Mallorcean (2nd) series. It my favourite series of books and I’ve read them many times.
You are so talented and fascinating
My dream is to accompany you on your wonderful Dartmoor walk with my two rescues dogs too! One is called Jack which might cause some confusion! I love to see those walks! Always a lot to watch in your podcasts and had to smile at your dungaree trial! Your bird quilt will be amazing one day! Stay safe x
Great podcast, and can’t wait to get my John Arbon Annual as the maze picture is stunning. Try the Tilly and the buttons Mila dungaree pattern or the marigold jumpsuit

Thank you for the suggestions :)
Lovely show as usual
I always knit jumpers bottom up and in pieces because I don’t think mentally I could handle the mass of stitches that we regularly see on KZread.

Thank you Katie 👍👋
Love the bird quilt idea but I’d probably stick to making cushion covers as a whole quilt might be a bit too ambitious for my skills and a bit heavy in tweed. Dartmoor was looking as lovely as ever- which tor was that?
I am new here and have to say THANK YOU! So enjoyed your podcast! Just loved your Maze! Is there anyway to order a copy? Either print or book? I am a Knitter but enjoy all things crafty! 🧶❤️
Lovely episode. I tried opening the link for the John Arbon Annual a couple of times and got an error message. Has anyone else? Thanks!
Liebe Grüße Liane aus Hessen/Germany
Tell me, what is the magic behind filming the walks on the moors?
Would be great if you would state the topic in the title! :)
Ohi,
