I'm a nole. But I believe this is the best team ever I say this because of the game in the orange bowl in the 93 champion game I still haven't seen the penalty on the kickoff return they called back this nole defense was as good as any in the history of college football Nebraska went on to win back to back titles it should be back to back to back titles. I'm a nole but I'm honest this team was unreal!!!

@Richard Gay Go back and watch the completely unedited FSU/Neb game. The anchor (Bob whathisface) has the entire country focusing on the wrong player. It's the other player that clips the FSU player. If you slow it down and advance frame by frame you can see the FSU player in one spot and then after the Neb player hit him, he is a yd back. The ref didn't need for it to be slowed down as he was RIGHT there on top of it. Great call.

We dominated the 90s by working hard, lifting, dedication, having pride, and being a team instead of individuals. we stayed true to what always worked for us. We never had or needed a top recruiting class. College football as a whole switched from the “old school” power run in favor of a faster paced, pass heavier offense in the late 80s and early 90s. We were a testament to how it is nearly impossible for a defense to stand tall for 60 min when a powerful o-line is coming right at you. Defenses tire so much faster against power run than anything else. (I played defense and can attest) We could control the clock, keep your fast paced offense off the field and the opposition never felt comfortable. Even when passing or a faster paced offense does score, their defense didn’t have time to recover. Our defenses of that era may not get nearly enough love for their dominance either. PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE SWITCH BACK TO THIS OFFENSE. Go Big Red.

Some ridiculous stats about this team: Scored a TD on their very FIRST play from scrimmage in FIVE different games. Only team in college football history to win every single game by at least 14+ points. Allowed a TOTAL of just 12 punt return yards all year. Beat 4 teams that FINISHED in the top 10, by an average of 31 points. Scored an average of 30 points in the first half. Average margin of victory of 38 points, despite playing backups most of the time in the second half.

The bowl games against out of conference opponents help to validate those records, correct. Saban had a winning bowl record, Osborn 12-13. Update: Oh you put the qualifier, "90s" in your comment. If one compared Neb's SOS in the 90s to Saban's SOS, Saban wins that comparison. Hell, Neb 95 had a SOS of 24 which Saban beat many times.

@adamdustin Funny stuff dude and of course all words. LOL The heisman voters don't base their votes off of 1 game, they look at the body of work. OSU definitely screwed the pooch in MI game, but again it was the season as a whole that the voters looked at. At the end of the year (after bowls), OSU's strength of schedule was #8 and Neb's was #24. Because Neb played a stronger opponent in their bowl than OSU did, that difference would have been even greater at Heisman voting time. Also, in the 10 NC games of the 90's, only Osborne and Stallings faced main rivals that had bad seasons. Facing a dismal OU team did nothing to persuade heisman voters. Ha, Ha. 1995 votes * George 1460 * Fraizer 1196 Closer to Wuerffel than George. * Wuerffel 987

When all else fails, bring up Lawrence Phillips. Many people don't know this but he was reportedly very intelligent and an excellent student. He wasn't treated well as a child and those demons he couldn't escape. I think he was homeless part of the time he was being recruited by NU>

Got your seasons wrong buddy, the natty nebraska won for the '95 season was a 62-24 beatdown of Florida. The largest margin of victory in a National Championship until the TCU Horny Fakers faked their way to a 65-7 loss to Georgia.

NOT EVEN CLOSE ???What planet do you live on?? Behind 13 minutes all year. Beat 4 top 10 teams by double digits (BASICALLY EVERY FOOTBALL EXPERT ON THE PLANET RANKS THEM and 01 MIAMI as the best EVER) In 5 years friends of mine(ALL AMERICANS, TEAM CAPTIONS ) that played there were like 49-2 with 3 national titles (2 points from 4 in 5 years ) As per the above you have alot to learn

@@joecolabelli4339 they had incredible numbers but the eye test is a real thing. If they played 01 Miami, 19 LSU, any bama championship team, they get smacked badly. They’d compete very well against 04/05 usc, 05 Texas, 08 Florida tho matchup wise
