I don't know why but I've always appreciated the added touch of showing his daughters in the background dancing along with them. I guess it just added some realism to the scene. You know his kids would have been around and watched tons of rehearsals and they couldn't help themselves from dancing with em.

Yes!!!! I also love it when the circus members lock eyes with the little boy and girl showing that the circus had a great impact on the new generation. Even when the parents hid their children they still wanted to see the beauty of the performers. Which inspired them to become more confident to perform. Their own mothers rejected them but the children accepted them at first glance. Sometimes kids are smarter than adults

Me too! I actually had a show this year that I attended weekly (more than 11 times in total. Spend at least 600€ on it) over a period of 4 months, because it was so great. That show also got me to watch 'The Greatest Showman' because they used 'The Greatest Show' for their final performance.

The 1st time I went to see this I hadn't seen the trailer for it, so I had no clue what it was about. I think I just randomly decided to go to the movies that day, and picked whatever was about to play. Words can't describe the joy my heart felt after leaving the theater that day. Whenever I play the soundtrack my heart fills with the same joy, and I would love to see this as a on stage musical❤️

You should see the videos behind the scenes on trying to get this movie greenlit. It took years just to get the scripting process approved, and months more just to get a proper runthrough to get the final green light to actually make a movie. It was definitely a process and this movie has earned every single cent it made and more because of how it came together.

Tbh i agree. The movie was too short IMO. I wouldn't have minded if the movie was 2 and half hours long, as long as we get to know the "freaks" more. Nonetheless, it's still a fantastic film

You stumble through your days Got your head hung low Your skies a shade of grey Like a zombie in a maze You're asleep inside But you can shake awake 'Cause you're just a dead man walking Thinking that's your only option But you can flip the switch and brighten up your darkest day Sun is up and the color's blinding Take the world and redefine it Leave behind your narrow mind You'll never be the same Come alive, come alive Go and light your light Let it burn so bright Reaching up To the sky And it's open wide You're electrified When the world becomes a fantasy And you're more than you could ever be 'Cause you're dreaming with your eyes wide open And you know you can't go back again To the world that you were living in 'Cause you're dreaming with your eyes wide open So, come alive (whoa) I see it in your eyes You believe that lie That you need to hide your face Afraid to step outside So you lock the door But don't you stay that way No more living in those shadows You and me we know how that goes 'Cause once you see it, oh, you'll never, never be the same We will be the light that's turning Bottle up but keep on shining You can prove there's more to you You cannot be afraid Come alive, come alive Go and light your light Let it burn so bright Reaching up To the sky And it's open wide You're electrified When the world becomes a fantasy And you're more than you could ever be 'Cause you're dreaming with your eyes wide open And we know we can't be go back again To the world that we were living in 'Cause we're dreaming with our eyes wide open So, come alive Come one Come all Come in Come on To anyone who's bursting with a dream Come one Come all You hear The call To anyone who's searching for a way to break free Break free Break free When the world becomes a fantasy And you're more than you could ever be 'Cause you're dreaming with your eyes wide open And we know we can't be go back again To the world that we were living in 'Cause we're dreaming with our eyes wide open (Hey) When the world becomes a fantasy And you're more than you could ever be 'Cause you're dreaming with your eyes wide open (the world becomes a fantasy) (Yeah, yeah) And we know we can't be go back again To the world that we were living in 'Cause we're dreaming with our eyes wide open 'Cause we're dreaming with our eyes wide open So come alive (come alive) (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

Thank you Lianne for writing the lyrics to one of my favorite songs. This song is so me. I'm always dreaming with my eyes wide open, when the world becomes a fantasy. I know I can't go back to the world I used to live in.
Took my mother and wife to see this and I fell in love from the first song to the last. Very few musicals have that effect on me.
guys if you look at the last "The greatest show" scenes, anne wheeler's smiles are so different. before she met and got with Phillip, her smiles were for show only but you can see the purity in her smile when Phillip does his grand entrance. She's so happy, she even did a little vibe dance when they were singing.❤❤

What's really sad is that he uses the "they don't know it yet but they are gonna love you" to make Lettie feel better. But then he says basically the same thing to Jenny Lind later.
My favorite part is at 2:02...the World's Heaviest Man is nervous, but sees the boy in crutches smiling at him. He realizes he really is making someone happy and immediately turns on the charm.
