The Greatest Sellouts in Youtube History

Ойын-сауық

Many youtubers come and go, the natural ebb and flow of internet fame. However, some youtubers cut their careers short by chasing the bag. Selling out, or at least appearing to sell out in spectacular fashion. Sometimes it works and they ride out the storm, sometimes it ends their career almost immediately and other times it knocks over a domino that starts a chain reaction. In the life of social media fame, optics is everything. Once people decide you did something, you better be ready for the consequences.

Jake's behind Evil Food Supply? Damn, I knew that channel was sus. I watched a video recently regarding the "evil" side of commercial dog food. I was following along, thinking it makes sense what it was saying. Then at the end, the channel smoothly slides right on in trying to sell their own brand of dog food that was allegedly "safe" for dogs. Basically, the entire video was saying "all dog food except the brand I'm shilling at the is bad. So buy this brand instead". Made me disregard what the entire video said, even if there is some level of truth behind it.

I see humor in Jake Tran's approach, like a running gag. He gets a sponsor & before he promotes it, he has a video of him telling you why his sponsor is a piece of shit. The audience is in on the joke, which is why he still has subscribers, & the sponsor is the butt of the joke. Anyone dumb enough to buy the product after the video told them why it's a bad idea is probably too stupid to have their own bank account.

Still not seeing what the issue is with that video. At least for me I just came away thinking self driving cars would be a useful tool if someone figures out how to make it work and that it is something worthwhile to be worked on.

Simon should be up there. He owns a dozen channels, and just released a video on his "Warographics" channel called "Israel and Palestine: A Comprehensive History" where he opens the video with a begging for money rant. He's a multi-millionaire, many times over, begging for donations and blaming YT demonetization and censorship. He has mega-million subs with billions of views. F that guy.

Or did KZread protect them like they protected Sniperwolf when she doxed someone? Because Jake Paul sure has gotten away with a TON of stuff on KZread with ZERO repercussions.

Honestly, I would of made my money and dipped at a certain point, Once you start reaching a certain level of consistency and revenue at that point time to diversify that portfolio and branch out of youtube. I think most people crash out because they run out of ideas that will keep up that same energy.
