As a kid I feel in love with Joe Pavelski on the Sharks to me he will always be a shark in my eyes

As a Sharks fan (don't be confused by the Ducks profile picture), Jumbo Joe is one of the best sharks of all time, but I think Marleau is better because of the Longevity of his career and him being really good before Thornton joined the team, So to make a long story short, the top 10 Sharks are Marleau Thornton Pavelski Nabokov Couture Burns Nolan Vlasic Cheechoo Karlsson

Yeah, I can respect putting Marleau first. Longevity is a huge part of it, but Jumbo was also there a very long time and was, to me, the overall better player for that amount of time.

@icewyre I noticed the argument you did in the short, but it's a toss-up between Jumbo and Patty

Being sharks fan all my life and being from Texas. I had to become a Stars fan when Pavelski joined the Stars. Joe will always be the best clutch player in my opinion.

I became a Panthers fan (secondarily) when Jovanovski went there. But I still haven't stopped cheering for the Panthers. It's definitely been a great year so far with the Canucks and Panthers both doing well.

My ranking of best Sharks of all time (as a Sharks fan) 1a: Thornton 1b: Marleau (Jumbo and Patty are tied for #1) 3: Pavelski (still one of my faves) 4: Nabokov (best Goalie) 5: Burns (best DMan) 6: Vlasic (best DEFENSIVE DMan) 7: Nolan 8: Couture (Clutch-ure) 9: Ricci (great team player and middle-six center) 10: Cheechoo (would've been one of the best scorers if he was healthier)

Not a bad list at all. I just feel like I'd have Couture higher. That guy was a playoff master.

@@icewyre I'm cool with that. He was a playoff performer during our peak years. And to think we got him thanks to the Toskala trade. I bet the Leafs regret that one 🤣

Why can’t Thornton and Nolan have their jersey’s retired in the Sharks arena as well?

Pavelski is a better player than both Marleau and Thorton. Those 2 stockpiled points in basically meaningless regular season games, when teams/ players are going at 80%. When it mattered, when everyone played hard, neither of those 2 did squat.

Don't forget Logan Couture as a Sharks Playoff beast. And I do have to disagree. You can't discount regular season success when it comes to talented players. While Pavelski and Couture racked up the points in the playoffs, Jumbo and Patty helped us dominate the regular season and get to the playoffs.

@@Pokemonmaster150bthe way the regular NHL season works, is you’re playing against a ton of bad teams, and even the good teams- you’re getting on average 80% of their best game. Players take nights off (because they play so much), many don’t go full throttle, every game. But in the playoffs, all the teams are good, and every player goes to another gear. Every game, every shift. That’s exactly why players like Marleau, Joe Throton, and many others always seem to ‘disappear’ in the playoffs.

@zalapski9399 Also in the playoffs, the 3rd and 4th lines get more play time as teams seek to preserve their own stars and neutralize opposing stars.

Talent-wise, he's up there with Jumbo. And he did bring us our first ever playoffs appearance together with Sergei Makarov. However, he only stayed for a few years. He hasn't made the impact that, say, Jumbo and Patty have.
