Just back from Paris. The traffic is just nuts. Closures everywhere. Total Chaos, and this is before all the tourists and athletes get there.

Agreed. I was there a week ago. The train ticket machines apparently are not straightforward for foreigners and had big queues.
Now you can fly into Orly airport and be in central Paris in 25 min on a driverless automatic metro line 14 coming every 3 minutes. The new stops opened on 24/06/2024.
Elite athletes went to China to compete in an Olympics. The air was poisonous and the visibility was horrendous only 6 weeks earlier, before the games started.
