Oh how I love these, every single one of them❣️ Am 72 now and have sung these since childhood. Jesus saved me on a Friday night, June 25, 1965, a week before my 14th bday🙌🙌 Thank You, precious Savior, Redeemer, Lord and Friend🙌🙌❤️ All that (still)thrills my soul is Jesus❣️

I'm only 42 but I know these songs. I grew up with these hymns and I still sing them. I love them❤❤❤❤✝️❤️❤️❤️Hymns should be more included in Church than they are. Sometimes you hear a hymn once in awhile. I am so glad to find this!! ✝️❤❤🎵🎵🎶😊😊

I'm 80 and remember as well as still sing all these wonderful songs at home and while driving. I visited a wonderful Baptist Church in McPherson Kansas last Sunday, they still sing out of the hymnal! Hallelujah ♥️

@@2675142 No I am not. I’m in the northeast. Churches that have hymnal books and sing hymns by people like Fanny Crosby are rare. The only musical accompaniment we have is a pianist. No amplifiers, no drums, no light show, no turning down the lights. Just voices of praise and worship. The associate pastor selects a portion of scripture and he and the congregation alternate verses. We have a small choir of 14. The congregation is older with a Sunday school class in the basement for the younger parents who have children. The members and board of elders have strived to keep the church as pure as possible which can be difficult in the age we live in. The assembly uses The King James Bible. Looking for a good church? When you arrive, watch and see how many people entering are holding their Bibles. God bless you.

I'm only 34, but grew up singing most of these.

I was raised in a devout Methodist home and at the Wesley church my family attended the hymns are sung accompanied by an organ such as the one accompanying these. I also learnt the English language through such hymns and the KJV Bible. Thank you for keeping these wonderful blessings alive ❤🎉 from the Fiji Isles in the South West Pacific ❤🎉

In my experience, so many churches have simply stopped, or almost stopped, singing these and similar hymns. 😢

Am delighted to listen to these songs which are no longer sang in the Catholic church in my country Tanzania.

There are hymns I love to hear, I grew up listening to them

These are the hymns we sang 50 years ago in the Methodist Church. They’re the same ones independent fundamental Baptist churches,who haven’t compromised by allowing worldly CCM to fill the church, still sing today! Just as I am is the congregational hymn that was being sung when I got saved 47 years ago!!

The problem is that so many Christians have been brought up on a diet of pop music & think that is the only music that matters. Of course, these have the advantage that they don't need a music group to be sung.

It's very wonderful and inspiring

I’m happy I grew up in a time where these lovely old hymns were sung in church the Lords Prayer was said in the morning with the Pledge of Alligance in elementary school we took turns reading a Bible verse from the New Testament when my oldest daughter was in kindergarten (eight yrs after I graduated high school) at Christmas they had a Christmas tree n a menorah in the classroom n learned the dreidel song And No One Complained!! Many years ago I heard the son of the woman that got the prayer out of the schools n he thought it was wrong plus she suffered when she was dying would like to know what she said to her maker at the Pearly Gates I’m 75 n I’m sure many my age have those memories n more when I first saw a Gaither Homecoming video on tv I was hooked since the 80)’s I have loved being ministered to thru their music 🙋🏼‍♀️🎼🎹🙏🇺🇸

I'm not surprised there are so many comments. What a joy to hear,. Many contemporary worship songs are good but few will last as long as these wonderful hymns

I still play and lead the congregation singing most of these frequently. Also: In the Garden, It is Well, Haven of Rest, Heavenly Sunlight, Great is Thy Faithfulness, Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, Victory in Jesus, To God Be the Glory, and many more. Smaller churches with older congregations are begging for pianists/organists to play what I call “old standbys”. Instead, most churches are now run like businesses and demand current music in order to draw in the youth and therefore tithing families. I’ve been playing and singing in church since I was in 3rd grade. I just turned 59 and I’m still playing and singing. I will continue to do so as long as my body allows. These hymns aren’t forgotten. They are being ignored by younger generations that expect praise and worship songs that repeat the same few phrases for 6 minutes at the time or they expect something that sounds like a secular rock concert where the lyrics are unrecognizable without them projected on a big screen.
