this one ,in particular with the romans as it explore a surviving roman gaul (with acctual military reform for the post rome period) btw the roman campaign in Insularis Draco allow you to fight the battle of the Catalaunian fields

Viking Invasion Medieval 1

One of the coolest things about Insularis Draco is some of the opening battles you have to fight. For example if you're playing as the Romans you get to fight the battle of Catalaunian Plains :D

The mod is one of the best

Thank you so much for the kind words, Gudea! To give credit where it is due, the main campaign map IS from IB2: Britanniae. I loved that mod so much I wanted to improve it, hence Insularis Draco. The map has been exhustively redone however! The other insular maps are by Lugh Lamfhada’s mods and the Germania 356 one is fully by me alone.

Ahh I see! It looks quite different so I wasn't sure. When I make a video about the other campaigns I'll mention that. I remember now that it was based on that, but it's so different it's unrecognizable. Thank you for the excellent mod!

I loved IB 2! I remember trying it during university but not having time for a playthrough! Im so so glad its been built on

agreed, what a stunning mod! the attention to detail is amazing, from faction selection screen to fonts to unit/building cards etc etc. and map looks gorgeous. wish you showed parts of Europe too. love stttlement models. thanks for bringing this mod to our attention.

This mod is just insane! Also, i dont know if youve mentioned this already in the video, but there's a mechanic that makes it so units get mud on their textures as they run around and fight. It's an amazing detail, going from fresh n clean to battered n dirty units always feel satisfying.

Lots of the words and terms in the mod are old english words that would sound like another language to a modern english speaker.

I love the archaeological stuff in the faction selection that’s what was always great about TW i learned so much about obscure historical peoples and their culture just from the games then went into studying them.

I've just started playing this mod after seeing it on your poll a few days ago. Really good stuff, scratches that same historical authenticity itch that EB2 does while being a bit more stable haha. The Dumnonians tremble before my Saxon shieldwalls :P

Yes it really does have an EB feel, though not quite the same since I'd say EB's AoR system sets it apart from most other mods

@GudeaTW for sure. I also adore the way recruitment buildings work in EB - always thought having separate ranged, cavalry and infantry buildings was pointless and too "gamey".

Very nice mod, i might try it out again sometime! I also remember two MTW II Invasio Barbarorum sub mods, one set during the invasion of Attila the Hun and another focused on Britannia like this one.

Yes this mod is actually kind of based on thr IB Britannia mod

The campaign map and the ui look so beautiful

This mod uses a lot of IB2 assets and the Romans have by far the best looking units. They are leagues ahead of the others

This mod looks detailed ! Might have to go try it

Hi Gudea, thanks for the video. I am the EB type TW player 4sure. And I have always been. I was wondering, do you know other mods, like Insularis Draco and EB, which emanate the same inspiration and historicity? Mods that you would recommend? For me, that passion for research of the historical aspects create the best ambiences when playing... I will never forget the knowledge learned from EB1 :)

Tsardoms comes to mind, perhaps the Great Conflicts, Scandza for sure, Chivalry to a degree

May I ask something about the chivalry total War mod? I find that I can't build certain high level buildings in the game, such as aqueducts are not available for the Byzantines even in 1160 AD. Are just not available or do they come at a later date?

The greatest Britannia Total War game is THRONES OF BRITANNIA!!

I enjoy that game, I don't think it's a bad choice. But it's not as in depth as this mod (four era campaigns)

Be careful of the common M2TW menu ctd when you go back from the 'Other Eras' campaigns to the main one. With 30 playable factions it's inescapable, sadly =(@@GudeaTW

What unit size is this mod balanced around?

We advise playing it on small in any situation, historically and balance-wise, but if you want to enjoy the Catalaunian Fields opening battle in full epicness you're free to try it in huge :)
