On the KJ hand, an opponent having AA could probably take that line trying to get the Broadway draws to fold. A LAG player with air could try that too. As others have said, checking back on the turn and seeing what he does on the river might have been better. Good to see another NOR-CAL player vlog.

I think with the AQ that is often a call. It’s only one bet to call. He will have big unpaired cards often and you need to be right like 30% of the time. He is repping a very narrow range with a four liner on board…. How often does villain have a five here? They not betting a seven for example.

I’m not saying it’s always a call but the way that played out… then saying that’s what I put you on… you knew it was a call… Everyone makes mistakes every time they play poker. It’s impossible not to. First hand and not knowing the player or seen him bluff is also fair.

"In the spot" you refer to, in hindsight it would of been nice to check back the turn and see another card (if you're going to fold to a raise there).. I hate folding to a raise with another card to improve, specially from a guy who just donked off a pot previously to you. btw I love your use of movie clips in your vids. Hilarious.

Your fold with the K J is very reasonable. Its such an odd line + turn check raises are so strong/under bluffed even by best of players. On the 7s hand, here's my thoughts. Raise more pre. Only other thing on the hand I think you could have gone more polarizing on the river. But you might have got the most value as played. I don't think you might have gotten any more than you did because I think he knew he was beat on the flop, with the check/check lines on turn, river.

For the KJ hand, it’s probably best to check back turn and check/call or bet for thin value on the river (1/2 pot) if checked to twice Betting on the turn gives the maniac a chance to polarize for two streets (repoened action on turn, action on the river) in which case calling down or folding KJ both suck As for the 7s hand, I think you could’ve gotten like $100 more on the river but was played close to optimally Versus villains who overvalue marginal holdings you either need to frequently bet small and thin for value so that they announce “pot odds!” and make the crying call (your strategy here) or become very polarized with more bluffs so that it becomes very punishing for them to call down with marginal hands Since you hadn’t shown any bluffs in this session (at least in the vlog), villain almost certainly would’ve folded to a larger more polarized bet since you had an image of being tight and value heavy GTO prefers becoming extremely polarized in this scenario to maximize the EV of strong hands but in practice it is really scary to blast off on the river with a missed draw, especially live when the monetary amounts are much larger than online just so that a strong made hand can get paid the maximum later Anyways you played really well dude!

Love the vlog series. Watching episode by episode. Like binge watching Netflix lol. On the KJ hand I an actually going 44. I think he tilted called your re-raise pre and bluffed it hard on the flop. As soon as he hit his 4 on the turn he went full on rounders and tried to slow play it back. Originally thought k10 but I just don't think this guy was good enough to overplay to a draw board. He was overplaying it as a bluff.
