    Your style of speech is incredibly smooth. You have a nice and consistent pace, your words are enunciated nicely, and you use pitch effectively. You might wanna look into doing advertising or some other type of voice work. You'd be good at it. Also, the content of this guide is incredibly informative. The video as a whole is well put together. As someone learning CoX, I really appreciate it.

Clear pronunciation, perfect explanations of every aspect of the fight, and great visuals to show exactly what you are referring to. Thanks for the guide my friend. The way you speak made me understand what this is about for the first time after many guides. For a non english speaker I can say this guide is better than those in my own language, just from how you pronounce each word in a way it becomes even a language lesson as well lmao. Appreciate the effort and the care to details you've put into this. Wholesome content.

    This really helped me get over some of that first time panic... Raids is a weird one because you have to be in a team when you learn, so when you don't know everyone in the group people can get quite mad when you suck! This was so useful. I’ve done 20+ mentor raids with WDR and while that experience was invaluable, they never explained why for some things. Like what makes his head turn, or when he attacks, and some other stuff. Combining their teachings with this video’s fundamentals I now think I got it. Only the skipping part I’m not completely getting but that’s also probably because I’ve never tried it yet. So only half the equation for me personally, unlike the rest of the video.

  • @The-AcademyOSRS

    @The-AcademyOSRS

    Жыл бұрын

    Oz! Thank you for taking the time to watch the video, I'm glad it helped! To answer your question, yes! As long as every role is doing their job correctly, Olm's cycle will never change! Events that could change the set: Olm looking middle, Olm attacking twice on one side (runners don't move fast enough), Olm doesn't attack at all on one side (skipper moves too fast). As long as Olm is attacking ONCE in each direction then turning his head, the set should never change for the entire phase! I hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions, or you're still not confident on your question! Thanks!

    This is a good guide but certain things need to be explained. When focusing melee hand you can still skip as a team, harder but doable. When melee skipping only move to thumb if you haven't done damage to it

  • @Will-hi9iy
    @Will-hi9iy4 жыл бұрын

    This a high tier guide, you should make more videos I have a question. Let's say your on melee hand and want to skip specials, what can you do if it's mage set?

  • @The-AcademyOSRS

    @The-AcademyOSRS

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thank you Will! Currently planning more content that is soon to come! I really appreciate your comment! As for your question, are you wanting to switch it from mage set to melee set? If not, skip this part of my comment. If so, your runners will need to stay on the melee side for an ADDITIONAL hit to switch this from mage to melee set. Remember Olm's attack cycle. 2 autos then the special. You need to have Olm perform BOTH of the autos on the MELEE side, then you AND your runners will go to the mage side causing Olm's head to turn rather than performing the special. Then simply follow the Melee skip guide. If you're wanting to keep it Mage set (your mager knows how to mage skip) you as the melee will simply stand on the far right marked tile and attack the melee hand. Occasionally the hand may cripple and you will not be able to attack the hand. When this happens, you can either equip your mage gear and attack the mage hand using the LONGRANGE attack style or just stand on the far right side of the room until the melee hand uncripples. I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or still don't quite understand!

    When Olm is "Melee SET" you do not need to mage skip, as the meleer should be the one skipping. When Olm is "Mage SET" you do not need to melee skip, as the mager should be the one skipping. As for skipping while the melee hand is crippled, whichever "set" it was before the hand crippled should continue to skip as the attack cycle doesn't change even though the hand is crippled. If it is mage set, you can continue to mage skip as the hand is crippled and should still skip correctly when the hand becomes uncrippled. I hope this helped! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy raiding!

    Question, if you on the 2nd special attack. And the melle hand clenches, does is reset back to the first or no?

    Great question! Even though the hand clenches, the "set" will stay consistent as long as the head is turning correctly. Meaning, if it was melee set, and then the melee hand clenches, it will continue to be melee set when the hand unclenches. I hope this helps!

    Thanks for asking Kevien! 27:00 is going to be a great reference for you in this video. You'll notice Olm will perform a special attack AT THE SAME TIME he turns his head. We just need to see which side he STARTED from when he turned his head. In the video at 27:00, Olm performs the special attack at the same time he is turning FROM the Mage side TO the Melee side. Since he started the Mage side, this would mean Olm is Mage set. If Olm STARTS from the Melee side and turns TO the Mage side as a special attack happens, this would make it Melee set. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you don't 100% understand and I'd happily break it down further for you!

    Can someone help me understand skipping? My question is the following: At 15:20 it looks like OLM is skipping special attacks because the head is constantly turning from left to right HOWEVER neither mage nor melee side appear to be skipping. It looks like only the runner is skipping. Is the runner also able to skip specials if neither of the mage/melee sides want to/know how to skip? Or is OLM during this time not skipping specials? Thanks in Advance yall!

    Excellent question, Perzy! At this point in the video, Olm's melee hand is "clenched" and unable to be attacked by players. When Olm's melee hand is in this state, Olm will NOT cast special attacks until the hand leaves the clenched form. At this point of the video, Olm is currently "melee set". Meaning the meleer has to skip the specials. As you see in the video, the hand clenches and the melee skipper runs back to the ring finger tile. This is very important. Since we are not doing damage to the melee hand, we MUST stand on that tile to force olm to turn his head. Otherwise he will look to the middle! Please do not hesitate to let me know if this still does not make sense and I'd be more than happy to help explain further! I have also began streaming again, so if you're on the Twitch platform, feel free to stop by! I'm always here to help! Happy raiding!

    The only question I see if that if your team wants to mage skip and you recognize that it's melee set, then how do you reset it to mage set?

  • @The-AcademyOSRS

    Scott! I appreciate you recognizing what I was trying to accomplish! I truly believe understanding the "why" makes learning so much easier! As for your question, the method is really simple, although execution can be a bit tricky. Whenever it is melee set, have your runners stand on the mage side of the room and tank a hit from olm. EVERYONE has to do this so it keeps olm's head on the mage side instead of turning. Once the runners get hit, they can run to the other side of the room, THE MAGE SKIPPER STILL STAYS and will tank another hit, then mage skip like normal. So the objective is to get olm to attack TWICE on the mage side, instead on just once. This will then flip the set. I hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any more questions or are still a little uncertain on how to flip the set! Happy raiding, gamer!
