I had seen this serial repeatedly. Very authentic history sources used , there is almost no imagination.

I used to wake up Saturday and Sunday mornings after listening to the title song and cannon shots. My sister named me Kumbhakarana. I remember watching Tipu Sultan and Gr8 Maratha. Shahbaz Khan , Sanjay Khan and Irfan Khan's acting was effortless.

This is all false you are saying please educate yourself with history if there was anyone to fight with Tipu Sultan it was Mahadji Scindia and hence why he was poisoned. Your information is wrong, Panipat was a deadly battle and Mahadji Scindia was severely injured and came back and made the Maratha Empire rise in the North of India. Mahadji Scindia never ran away from Panipat, infact the anglo Maratha war Mahadji fought against the british when he came to visit Rani Laxmi Bhai to see the new baby peshwa. Are you trying to say Mahadji Scindia was a traitor no that was Ragunaath Rao who took help from British

I really don't understand why the Peshwa turned back his force of 100,000 when they were marching towards Delhi. They could have defeated the Rohillas with that force, and won back territory and loot lost in Panipat. They could have threatened Awadh and made Shuja-Ud-Daullah pay war indemnities as well. Abdali was on his way back to Afghanistan and was being harassed by Sikhs on his way there. He was in no position to turn back and come help his allies.

bro the fact was peshwasaheb was confident his cousin brother sadashivrao bhau and vishwasrao wud defeat Abdali badly but when he got news of their defeat death. he was sad depressed and in no position to fight a war so he turned back . but after his death in 1year the scindias and holkars under madavrao Peshwa raided Delhi Agra Panipat and sum parts of Punjab and massacred around 30,000 Afghans and their sympayhizers sum of them were shot dead or beheaded brutally mosques made by Afghans were bombarded badly . it was a major success for the marathas and their disaster at panipat .this story was never told to people .

Only if Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao had send the reinforcements earlier and also under Raghunathrao (Raghoba), he was a little ambitious but still a great general. And also the Marathas shouldn't have alienated Jats and Rajputs by not taking care of their interests.

This is spectacular.We must remember that at the zenith of it's glory the Maratha empire was one of the most powerfull Empire in Asia. The unfortunate rivalry within the elements in the Empire weakened it and ultimately the English East India Company was able to subjugate this great Empire. Marathas avenged the loss of Panipat ( in 14 January 1761) by returning on 1770.It was a spectacular revenge when thousands of Rohillas were killed and hundreds of mosques were destroyed.The Maratha invasion after 1770 virtually destroyed the remnants of Mughal Sultanate in northern India and permanently destroyed Afgan influence in Northern India.
