The Great Loop Backwards Day 8 Green Turtle Marina to Sandbar Anchorage
We travel through Barclay Lock even though the lock master said it will be turbulent and rough on the other side. He is not letting barges go through at this time. We go through the Cumberland River on to the Ohio River to anchor at Sandbar Anchorage.
Freebird on The Great Loop 56 Carver Voyager Yacht travelling the lakes, rivers, and oceans. We anchor and stay at Marinas in Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan so far. Future plans are to take the boat cruising to Florida and The Bahamas. Hi Roger, the sand bar anchorage was about 32 feet deep when we anchored this time. With the strong current we had to put out a lot of anchor chain to hold overnight. Maureen made sure we had enough supplies for at least 5 days on anchor. Thanks for your questions.

We are still working to complete our first loop. This is the second time we traveled on Freebird from our home port in Chattanooga up the rivers to the Great Lakes.
