Her Yaman is the most enchanting rendering ever, every person should hear it when in distress, its so soothing.

Indeed this music touches your soul. It is a very scientific form of music.

A rare and very interesting recording. I had the fortune of meeting Hirabai Badodekar with someone (late Smt. Chandraprabha Natu, my aunt's mother) who knew her well in her house near Kamla Nehru Park in Pune in the early 1970s. Her simple personality and pleasant talk were striking. She carried her reputation and popularity as one of the greatest Hindustani classical singers of the 1930s to 1950s very lightly on her shoulders. I could hardly believe that I was sitting with Hirabai Badodekar.

I wonder why pple dont talk about these great classical thumri keyal singers - Gauhar jaan , badi malka jaan , malka jaan of agra, husna bai, rasoolan bai, janki bai,azam bai,banubai,umrao jaan,hirabai,laxmibai,roshan ara begum... ..everybody talks about begum aktar, lataji, girija devi.... Etc...but these precious diamonds of ancient times we had many pple dont even know about them..this is really a worst ever happened ...
