The Great Glen Canoe Trail - I spend 4 days wild camping and paddling across Scotland

The Great Glen Canoe Trail is a journey I had wanted to do for years.
Finally this summer I got the chance.
In aid of the fantastic charity www.who-dares-cares.com/
We travelled across Scotland in canoes from Fort William to Inverness.
The trip was organised by the charity and I have to say it was a deep honour to support them.
If you know someone, or are someone, who struggles with PTSD then please reach out to these guys.
They really do care.
I speak about them more in the video.
As the trip was in aid of the charity it was rather special, bringing together a group of girls from all over the UK. Most of us did not know each other before the trip.
The trip was guided by Richard from
www.redriverguiding.com/about...
Who I can highly recommend.
He really handled the mixed group of women very well 😅
If you would like to donate either use this link to donate to my own Just Giving page:
www.justgiving.com/fundraisin...
Or
Go directly to the Who Dares Cares website linked above.
Thank you as ever for the support of the channel ❤️
**Sorry there is not as much on water footage as I would have liked, on the first dayI stood on my GoPro and broke the rear screen 🥺
I wasn’t confident it would still be waterproof so whenever it rained (often) I sadly had to put it away.
I hope to do this journey again either solo or with Viv.
In the mean time I have a few adventures lined up so please keep an eye out!

A great Video, and watching it brings back memories. I completed the Great Glen in four days with a group of Veterans, organised from the Brathay trust in 2018. Then in 2020 i tried the route again with a few friends but the weather in 2020 forced us to stop at Fort Augustus, and return a month later. When i did the route with the Veterans, we travelled from North to South as the winds made that decision for us. Loch Ness was very calm the day we travelled that Loch, but Loch Lochy was as rough as could be. Your video really shows the route in all its normal reality.

That looked amazing Annie. Youve turned my head a little towards getting a canoe. You certainly live life exactly as it should be lived. Big respect. Well put together, and best of luck to the charity.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I cannot recommend owning a canoe highly enough!! Feels so free out on the water getting to places other people can’t go 😀

@@richardmoses2105 Thank you Richard. I’m glad I made it now, I knew at the time (after standing on my poor gopro on the first day) that I wasn’t quite getting the footage I wanted. 🙃

Great video and good presentation Annie i am coming up Friday 18 August to do the great glen unfortunately the guy in the back seat has had an injury with his back so pulled out so I am doing this on my own and found the video informative. My put in is the 21 August but may do it a day earlier as i want to get to inverness as I have Highland Yak picking me up to take me back to Fort William where my car will be parked at Neptunes Staircase how did you find getting out of the canal i have my own canoe and training at my club in Marlow but still a newbie anyway looking forward to the trip may hook up with someone else who is doing the same trip and starting on the same day so could work out for both of us anyway thank you a very informative and pleasant presentation of the Great Glen Canoe Trail

Oh how brilliant!! You will have an amazing time. There was a guy doing it solo when I was there, he hung out with us a bit in the evenings. And there was another tandem pair. Everyone was really friendly and having a great time. Getting out of the canal is easy, lots of places to do it as it’s such a well used trail. Have a great time 😀

No, it was all free to just stop off and camp. It’s worth keeping an eye on others on the trail though and try to stay ahead of them if you want the best pitches 😁

Hello🌺🌺🌺🐴🐎🐎, 🦒🦒🐦 God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ(His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, He grew up and died on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Jesus Christ sincerely to be God's child John 1:12. "But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVE on HIS name." That is great news! Will you sincerely receive Holy, Lord Jesus into your life today?
