THE GREAT GAME: Inside Kenya's late President Moi's government, attempted coup & gamble.

This is the story of the great political game, that drove the late President Daniel Arap Moi into power, the race to end his 24 years of his dictatorial rule and the gamble that led to the historic victory of the opposition outfit led by retired President Mwai Kibaki and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

I watched a documentary about civil land issues in Kenya, and it stated Jomo Kenyatta (and 'others') {please be smart and leave politics out of this and see this for what it is} bought land from Europeans in the spirit of redistributing to displaced Kikuyus, but never did. His or successive governments.

President Moi is the most iconic and successful president of Kenya. He is widely misunderstood, but is by far the best president Kenya ever had, especially in respect to timing and season. While all other African nations were held up in coups that have ailed and ail them to date, he held Kenya in a vice like grip that kept the country stable. He had his flaws as a man, but he executed his role, and purpose with precision. Rest in peace your excellency MO1

this comparison of ruto and moi is only based on both being kalenjin you can spin it how you want but deep down thats the only correlation you can draw between moi and ruto. Moi was a very passive and quiet vp, ruto is the opposite, moi could be disprespected by kenyatta cabinet and not fight back ruto cannot, moi bowed to the moves of kenyatta and cabinate ruto can stand up to his boss to even deep issues like constitutional change even when thousands have been placed to hackle him and still did. The only similarity between ruto and moi is they speak kalenjin and of the same gender

Ruto is just Moi copyright. Moi was all over with handouts, and that is Ruto too. Moi was on perpetual campaign mode. Ruto too. Moi abused the powers of the presidency to loot the state dry. Ruto too. Moi hid his cold, brutal and vindictive side in the church. Ruto too. Moi looted the Turkwel - Gorge project, Ruto looted Arror, Kimwarer and Itare. Moi killed local industry, Ruto looted Galana kulalu. Both of them have no ideas on how to run a country, build stronger institutions and grow the economy. It is not news that Ruto will re-establish the same backward, divisive and mediocre politics as Moi. And the result will be a violent kleptocracy that will brutally stifle any form of dissent. Uhuru has failed Kenya spectacularly, just as his mentor Moi did. When Moi said Kanu will rule Kenyq for 100 years, what he really meant was tbat those he had meant was that those he had mentored and worked with in Kanu would succeed him and continue leading in the Kanu manner for over 100 years.
