Some tips I want to share: the beavers if I remember correctly can reach 2 up and infinitely down when building something, and a thing you need to do with the mega dam is split them to 2 different sized parts with a closable passage between them, the bigger one to store good water, and the second smaller one with a side outlet to allow the badwater to flow out without contaminating the good water. Another thing is to build the big statues, because they boost the lifetime, carrying speed and walking speed of the beavers by increasing the happiness, so you can place them in the centre of the city.

Left a long comment for you to read if you want. But the important part this time, is: 1: you need some gravity batteries to even out your power surplus for your droughts. 2: You should build a nice observatory. Its more efficient than the inventors.

My biggest advice is that you need to prepare a Badwater area and maybe a Badwater reservoir because you will need a lot to make dynamite. I also recommend removing all water pumps out of the center of the map and setting them all up at the reservoir instead to protect the crops. Love the series though!

The issue I see in making a giant dam right next to the water source is the fact that badwater seasons could contaminate the water supply, crippling your entire beaver population. Plus, its massive height means that any bad water in there will still exist at the bottom. Regardless, this is yet another great video!

The way that this could be fixed is by adding a y branch at the water source. One that leads to the reservoir and the other a channel that goes to the world edge. I wouldn’t include dams on the reservoir side so that it would be protected but put as many as possible on the channel side.

The thing I loved most about Timberborn is you start off thinking "maybe if I can build these 2 buildings on platforms, that could be useful" and by the end you are thinking "Can I just dam half the map or something?" Highly recommend looking at mods for this, particularly the ones allowing vertical power shafts, ladders, automation for floodgates/pumps and larger floodgates. also you can tap "p" to pause and unpause buildings / construction sites.

My tips: when you build a district, don't immediately connect it to a road, build an infrastructure around it (over long distance) first including some logs, planks and food as a minimum, then disconnect the roads from the main area, connect to the new district and set up your crossing after. It's much easier to get a district up and running this way. Also the gravity batteries are really useful for power storage, especially when you build them as high as you can get them (getting the power down can be a pain, so plan ahead) Also, badwater can be goodwater.

I’m not seeing anyone mention decorations and wellbeing. Wellbeing makes your beavers happier which makes them work faster and live longer. If you click on a beaver you can see all the stats that boost their productivity. Your addiction to decorate will actually be very productive Keralis!

Yes it is actually brilliant to make a W shape abusing that natural exit river a few layers higher than the water source blocks. During the regular Temprate seasons you can lower the flood gates on bottom tips of the W shape to flow towards the lake and your area, and during the badtides you can close the bottom tips of the W shape and open up the middle top tip of the W to transport the unwanted badwater from the sources and right back out the map. Its one of a few ideas i have been mulling over badwater diverting like a pro for my Folktails U5 playthrough on this map.

Love the city Keralis! Especially all the dense blocks of paths and buildings all stacked on each other! On the upper right, if you click the long rectangle with a picture of a beaver with a hammer, you can see all the buildings in your city and pause/increase workers in them from there. Might be easier than trying to find all 100 of your water pumps on the map when the drought hits!

Don't doubt your instincts! You're doing great! You are right in your assumption that water will leave the map anywhere that is not on top of an edge water source block. It's easy to green out brown areas of the map with either the fluid dump, set to water, or an irrigation tower. Creating a 3x3 pool with levees and a fluid dump will green out an area about big enough for a forester.

I use levee's to build small "pools" of water with the water dump(which uses water gathered from pumps) to get green in hard to reach higher elevations, at least until I get dynamite going to blast holes in the ground to dump the water into. Great idea using the area in between the two water sources to get rid of the badwater, I am going to have to get my beavers working this weekend!

  • @supremepopsicle
    @supremepopsicle4 ай бұрын

With dynamites, you can make everything "underground". You can make an irrigation system by blowing up the ground, let the water flow to an area you want, and make atleast 3 by 3 explosion, but a dam at the entrance and keep the area green, or just make the explosion and place water dump at the top of it and have a 7/24 active green zone. You can also make your paths go underground, so your beavers can move under the buildings for some easy logistics, instead of going all the way around the buildings.

I’m loving this series! One tip: I think it would be good to add water pumps into certain dry areas to ensure it’s kept fruitful year round. The water doesn’t evaporate nearly as quick as your beavers would be able to keep up with the pump. All you need is one explosive to create a hole in the dry area and then you build the pump over that. Year round farming away from rivers!

I've been watching other people (like Real Civil Engineer) play this game for a while, and thought about picking it up a time or two, but what finally tipped me over the edge was watching Keralis and thinking "No! You're supposed to do it this other way!" XD But really, you're doing great, Keralis. I'm kind of shocked at how quickly you expanded, but it's worked out really well. I'm only on Cycle 10 on my play through, but I'm nowhere near as advanced as your city is. I unfortunately lost half my beavers to Bad Flood exposure a few cycles back, and since then have mainly focused on rebuilding (which unfortunately meant sending the sick beavers "to a farm upstate" [transferring them to a separate District with no food or water]), sustaining what I currently have (town wise), obtaining large amounts of Antidote (so it never happens again), and asserting control over how the water flows through the map. As such, through the use of flood gates and levees, I can now direct the amount and direction of water nearly everywhere, so I never have to worry about Bad Floods again.

Love this series and your beaverton. I'm also new to the game, and have almost wiped my beavers like 4-5 times from starvation, thirst and even contamination because I'm more of a noob than you lol. When I managed to have some survivors and get wealthy of resources eventually, I created a 'Bunker District' not so far away and filled up with a large storage of food, water and antidote and left it abandoned. That way if ever I get to the same issue again (which I hope not since I should be prepared now), I can migrate off the last survivors to the 'Bunker District' so they can start anew with enough food, water and medicine.

Replacing small water pumps with large ones is a big water/work-slot improvement; consider making a water DISTRICT on platforms in the first reservoir since your floodgates are elevated so they won’t feed your farms when they dry, might as well pump it out! Now that you have huge reservoirs you can experiment with stream forming to focus all water flow into a single channel for water wheels. Power generated is equal to average CMS (you can measure with the water/flow gauge) across the area of the wheel; this means if you can shroud a wheel with levees and increase speed, it generates more than an additional wheel side by side - up until it hits maximum CMS. On the topic of districts, beaver life is: wake, feed, work, play, sleep. They will not fulfill food/water until their current task is complete. Huge districts might mean a beaver may spend 5 hours running to a job, get hungry/thirsty, FINISH the job, and become dehydrated/hungry/exhausted. When they are in a negative state they consume MUCH more resources to heal it. Smaller districts with haulers prevent beavers from spending half their day traveling and healing, and instead, working! Efficiency! PS: Extra hauler building at low priority maximum slots is good when you have many many beavers, you always want haulers moving instead of producers/builders, who WILL haul, but can be dangerous in huge Districts because they might take a LONG hauling job thanks to various mega engineering projects, which means a beavers’ 5 minute water break might turn into a 2 day hauling trip!

Where the waters enters your map, you should raise it one or two more levels with levee (yes i said it too!), then engineer two different paths, one that loops back outside the map, and one that leads into the reservoirs, have floodgates on both and then you can close off reservoir and open the gates to outside when theres badtides, that way you dont have any badwater enter your pure water reservoirs :]

After ages of trial and error with finding little to no info... Storage Building Prioritizations... ☆Farmers, Grills, Potatos and Grilled Potatos for example... • Supply, Storage set to Supply should be close to their respective production building. In example above, Farmers will fill Supply Potato Storage buildings. • Haulers. Haulers are necessary and will haul storage from Supply Storage buildings near the farms and bring them to the Obtain Storage Buildings near the Grills. Grills would have Supply Storage buildings near by to store the Grilled Potatos which would then be carried over to the main centralized large bulk storage area. • once you get the population to support such things and you have the appropriate storages setup nearby to every production building. You can actually favor prioritizing the movement of items in storage buildings by haulers and stop prioritizing basic and advanced production buildings, such as Farms and Grills respectively. If you have sufficient storage strategically placed near production buildings and stocked by Haulers, then the production building employees can easily get their own raw materials and off-load their own products nearby. If everything prepared for and close enough with some included small Obtain Storage for multiple foods and some water storage near the raw material and finished product storages, then you can have your Haulers focus on inventory management instead of everything... thus speeding up overall production flow with the only choak points being full storage and population for haulers. Holy crap, tangent alert! Lol sorry The TLDR... • Supply - filled like normal but feeds other storages. Beavers will pill from storage for production/food reasons • Obtain - filled from other storages set to Supply. Beavers will pull from storage for production/ food reasons • Accept - generic setting, allows for items to be accepted but does not Supply nor Obtain from other storages. Beavers still pull from storage for production/food reasons • Empty - self-explanatory. Empties storage to other available storages and wont accept anything new, even after being emptied, until set to one of the other 3 prioritization options. • Haulers are required to utilize Supply and Obtain options.

Please separate the incoming water from the big reservoir. One floodgate connectit with it \/\/\/ and one that let the bad water exit the map. # levee = floodgate + water source _ map edge _________________________ ####+++++#===#### # # # # #=====###### The other one is a little bit more complicated but I hope you get the point.

That's pretty much the same solution I came up with. Only difference is that I put the right flood gate vertically down the middle.

Using tnt to dig out under some of the paths for power is more useful with the iron tooth tribe as your tribe can have windmills all along the power shaft line as long as there are not other tall things to interfere. Still bomb out 2 levels deep, and connect it to water, with a dam at the entrance. This floods the trenches and keeps crops green during the drought.

I would suggest checking out Sky Storme. He pushes the limits of what those beavers can do and may give you some ideas on where to go with your town. Loving the series!

Produce the waterwheels more power if its placed right on the waterfalls created by the damms? And dont forget the higher tier pumps you mentioned earlier. Now you could make use of the depth of the dammlake.

There was a glitch in the last version where water would leak through levi at the edge of the map. Dunno if they've fixed it in this version but you might need to move it back a tile from map edge

Uh hello again, Keralis. Finally episode 5, or update 5. Fitting, huh? I was looking for something to watch while playing Timberborn myself, and this shows up in my feed. Makes sense, I suppose. Now I play Timberborn, while watching someone else play the same game. Anyway, I'll drop comments with timestaps as I watch. Though I suppse there is less and less of my to comment on, as you seem to be learning the game fine. 6:48 That might not be all that useful. You won't be able to access that extra water at the bottom. 10:40 Glad you are finally making good use of the goods management system. 12:20 The game acually does have a maximum height. If you try building a tower, you will edventually meet it. By the way, please do try building a tower. 13:00 Uh.. yeah, that is a lot of beaver kits. That's a gonna be a real bad baby boom. You're gonna feel that one in a few cycles. 15:20 As you are guilding all of that, I just got to thinking. You have the resources to waste on bridges now, yet you aren't makeing any, are you? 16:00 This might be a good spot for an observatory. Which looks good up on a hill or mountaintop, even though it would function the same in a ditch. It does require power, so add some windmills and a gravity battery or two to that place, and you're good. 16:20 Alternatively, it might also be a good spot for a monument. Folktails has a farming-themed monument that might look good near those farms. 25:00 Yes, at this point, you want some gravity batteries. You got a net surplus of power, but you waste a lot of it, and then get a deficit in the droughts. This is a problem. Build some gravity batteries. That will solve your power issues. 28:00 Trivia: The sunflowers were added in solidarity with Ukraine, which is known for its sunflowers. 28:20 I have done alot of crazy shit in this game, but I don't think I have had that kind of weird configuration.. Well, it's a temporary thing. 29:15 Stranded beavers. Yup. They sure and dummies, sometimes. I would rename them to Dumb and Dumber, or something else like that to mark this, then save them. 30:12 Your beavers will need some stairs to get up on those walls, so they can build. 32:55 Careful now. watercrops require the water to be below 1 block. If you raise the water, your watercrops WILL drown. Ironic, I know. 35:30 Congratulations, you are on the verge of controlling the map. The game will only get less exiting from now on. uh.. did I say less? Sorry, but it's true. But don't feel bad. there's still lots to achieve. You still need to unlock the iron teeth faction. 35:57 That.. you know what? fine. Mechanically, it's an abomination, but aesthetically, I suppose you're right. end: Next episode is going to be interesting. But I'm sure it's going to be fine.
