Imperium got screwed because Erebus stole that anathema sword from the interex museum. I don't see how the loss of the interex contributed to the fall of the imperium.

@@argeltal9090 Interex shows that humans knowing about chaos is the right way to stop it compared to what the Big E wants to do. Horus was willing to be at peace with them and I'm sure things would have gone very differently if Horus learned about the ways of the Interex on fighting chaos.

@@N0noy1989 Fair point i guess. I'm not sure however how much the astartes would have believed the stories about chaos, they would have probably dismissed it as religious nonsense. And even if the stealing of the sword didn't happen, imagine how would the other primarchs react when they find out that Horus, not just spared xenos but is actively interacting with them. It would be scandalous.

Well if it wasnt for Erebus, Kurze, Angron, Magnus, Perti, Lorgar and Fulgrim could have all basically still rebelled for various reasons... as stated in a book (i believe it was "Thousand Sons") where it was stated that Magnus was actually supposed to be groomed in order to become what Horus became

@@TheHorreK2 I don't think Fulgrim would have without that sword putting boners in his head. He had that intense bromance with Ferrus. I don't think Horus would have either without getting stabbed/infected and psychoed in the temple. I don't think Magnus would have either being that he was so for the Emperor when Horus was being corrupted, so much so he got stupidly rash (wrecking the webway project). Angron.. oh yeah.. that boy is bucking authority, he's definitely going to be Korn's buddy. I think Erebus, and Kurze, and Perti and Lorgar probably still would have fallen.

The Galaxy is in flames because of love. The big E hesitated out of love, and that cost us everything. He should have run Horus through the throat when he had the chance. We still would have lost Sanguinis, but the Emperor might have been able to revive him. Heck, if he had stabbed Horus he might have found a way later on to bring back Horus too, instead of needing to obliterate his soul from existence. I wonder what 40k would look like if the Big E wasn't stuck in a chair?

Seriously though I think you’re correct. There is just not enough about the great crusade especially on KZread for people who have lives and cannot spend copious amounts of time pouring through books. Particularly have been scarred by grad school or law school and have a fear of books afterwards. I wish people would really go deep into it so we could see more

I heard that there was a battle during the Great Crusade against the Orks that became so intense that the Orks began to return to Krork level intelligence. And they supposedly became so dangerous that they almost killed the Emperor.

Oh no thats erm, d e b u n k e d. Its was the last battle the big E took part in before going to mess around with elder tech. The big E erased the warboss like he did to Horus and dealt a death blow with his big flaming sword even before erasing the boss.

It's funny how the Big E is the absolute difference of God Emperor Leto II from Dune even though Dune was one of the inspirations for WH. Leto was specifically being a god dick so that humanity after hundreds of years would learn to think for themselves and not worship leaders as gods. The Big E on the other hand assumed humans could think for themselves and turns out he was wrong ends up getting worshipped as a god.

just watched the animated fan video The Last Church and got really interested in that aspect of the lore. The dialog between the disguised emperor and the priest is really cool. Have you seen it Majorkill? Maybe your next video could deal with that. The emperor`s argument against religion.

The animation is really good, and so is the short novel. But tbh the arguments in there are quite shallow, something you would expect from a post on reddit. I think it would have been better if the Emperor didn’t actually talk about the real-life aspects of religion or whatever, but about chaos and how it uses religion

Magnus didn't betray the Emperor - he overestimated his own ability, and ended up having to take a Faustian bargain to save his sons, thanks to Tzeentch Just-As-Planned'ing him from the get-go. Magnus, of all the traitors, would be the most receptive to returning to the Emperor.
