The Great Controversy Chapter 6: Huss and Jerome

Ойын-сауық

This week Pastor Ted Wilson discusses chapter six of The Great Controversy, entitled “Huss and Jerome.” John Huss and Jerome of Prague were forerunners of the Reformation. Their work spread across Bohemia-a country now known as the Czech Republic-and beyond as they brought the saving truths found in Scripture to thousands in Europe.
A primary teaching of Huss and Jerome regarded the scripture and went directly against the teaching of the Catholic Church, and before long, these reformers felt the wrath of Rome.
Because they refused to recant and renounce their beliefs, both Huss and Jerome met the martyr’s fate, where now stands a stone in remembrance of them.
To learn more about Huss and Jerome, read The Great Controversy by Ellen White at greatcontroversyproject.org/.

*Rev. 18:20 and the Martyrdom of Polycarp proves Adventism..etc., is false* The Martyrdom of Polycarp (AD 117): Here's a direct quote The *CHURCH* of God which sojourns at *Smyrna* (Rev. 2) , to the *CHURCH* of God sojourning in Philomelium, and to ALL the congregations of *the Holy and CATHOLIC CHURCH* in every place: Mercy, peace, and love from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, be multiplied. For, [Polycarp] having through patience overcome the unjust governor, and thus acquired the crown of immortality, *he NOW, with the apostles and all the righteous [in heaven], rejoicingly glorifies God, even the Father, and blesses our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of our souls, the Governor of our bodies, and *the Shepherd of the *CATHOLIC CHURCH throughout the world* .[28] *(The placing of Polycarp's immortal soul in heaven after his martyrdom is exactly what we find in Revelation 18:20 with the Apostles and all the righteous)* Notice how the author, says *Christ is the Shepherd of the Catholic Church THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE WORLD" In other words, the entire Christian world in 117 AD understood 2 things: 1.That Christ was the Shepherd of the Catholic Church and 2.The doctrine of the immortality of the soul and teaching of the righteous souls went to heaven after the death of the body was taught by Christ and the Church *throughout the whole world!* Another Adventist heresy on soul sleep and annihilationism bites the dust.

Thank you Pastor Wilson. For many years I appreciate you and your ministry. I agree, the book The Great Controversy should be studied by the entire world. Soon, every person will have to make an eternal decision, either for Christ or for His adversary - the decision to receive the Seal of God or the Mark of the Beast. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has been called by God to proclaim the last message of God's love to a dying world - Revelation 14:6-12. What a privilege! Praise be to God! May the Lord continue to bless you and your family as you working with God for the salvation of many souls. Jesus is coming soon! We are praying for you. 🙏🙏🙏

The *“System”* that Adventists despise with all their being is the apostolic authority of the Church set in place by CHRIST HIMSELF, saying to Peter: *Whatsoever YOU (PETER) BIND SHALL BE BOUND IN HEAVEN! And whatsoever YOU LOOSEN shall be LOOSEN IN HEAVEN!* The Adventists like all the cults DESPISE THE AUTHORITY Christ set in place HIMSELF

@@Donna.bent876 He is no more an “Elder” than Mickey Mouse. The summary of Ellen G. Whites *"Great Controversy"* argument are thus concerning the Apostasy of the Apostolic Church from her book, in chapter 3. 1. The Apostle Paul and John warned that the Apostasy of the Church Christ instituted. And, that the apostasy of the Church along with the Apostles was going to happen and was already happening in 53AD and by 90AD, the Apostle John was already commanding people to *"Come out the Church Christ instituted upon the Apostles, the prophets and Christ being the chief cornerstone.* Thus, the "HER" and Harlot of Revelation 18 to EGW and Adventism is the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church and the book of Revelation is begging all the Christians to leave the Church Christ died for and John, Paul and all the Apostles labored to bring into the "ONE Faith", ONE Body, the ONE Church to an end regardless of Christ promise to never leave it or the gates of hell prevail over it. 2. The falling away, was NOT those who left the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. *but THOSE WHO REMAINED WITH the Apostolic Church* Christ instituted was "falling away" . And, ONLY those who would LEAVE the Church would be saved, while those who followed in obedience to the Church would be lost. 3. The falling away in her mind described in 2Thess. 2:4 *was caused by the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church abandoning the enforcement of the Sabbath commandment upon the Gentiles.* and that every Christ must become Jewish first, before claiming to be Christian and the claim of Cephas to be Pope. 4. Her claim was that Grace and faith in Christ and the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Holy Spirit was and is not sufficient to keep a person from murdering or stealing..etc., thus the spirit of lawlessness. And, that only by the LAW of 10 commandments could keep people from sinning, not by the Holy Spirit. 5. She also claimed that suddenly somewhere long before 325AD, the Catholic Church decided to have a Pope, who was the Vicar of Christ and no one in the entire known world protested. This was already occurring in 53AD when the Apostle Paul wrote 2Thessalonians 2 while at the same time the Apostle Paul as calling the Pope "Cephas" meaning Rock. And, prior to that Christ named Him "Rock" from the moment Christ called him and so did every other Apostle who spoke the Aramaic language, as Christ and most of Judea at the time. Only those who DISOBEYED the Church could be saved in EGW's teaching. 6. She then claimed by the time of Constantine, the entire known world of Christianity had fallen away to join forces with the Pope and that was "The Great Falling Away" prophecied in 2Thess. 2:4 in 325AD. 7. For Ellen G. White, persecution and martyrdom of the Church was a good thing and the church living in peaceful times was deplorable. She would have preferred that the torture of the Christians continued than have peace. 8. In the end, Ellen G. White and the Adventist church teaches the Papacy didn't begin until 538AD according to their 1260 day prophecy, but that conflicts directly with their own writings which say the Papacy was already ruling in 325AD, which is 217 years or more difference. Ellen G. White writes explicitly in Chapter 3 of the book Great Controversy, speaking of the time of Constantine in 325AD less than 200 years after Christ: *"THE GREAT APOSTATE HAD SUCCEEDED in exalting himself “above all that is called God, or that is worshiped.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4. He (the Pope) had dared to change the only precept of the divine law that unmistakably points all mankind to the true and living God.* (Great Controversy Chapter 3. …. "No such honor was given to the day by Christ or His apostles. *The observance of Sunday as a Christian institution had its origin in that “mystery of lawlessness”* (2 Thessalonians 2:7, R.V.) which, *EVEN in Paul’s day, had begun its work.* Chapter 3 of Great Controversy. Yet, there is no record of any "Controversy" about a change from the Sabbath to Sunday in the records of Church history. 9. Lastly, EGW's and the Adventist's point is that Christ (God himself in the flesh) could *NOT* and did not *"Point mankind to the true and Living God"* And, that only by Sabbath keeping could they come to know God, period.

In the 4th chapter of the book "Great Controversy" Ellen G. White spends the whole chapter praising Wycliffe as a hero of the Protestant Reformation while ignoring the fact that many of the people she addresses as saints, were devout Sunday worshipers and devout teachers of the doctrine of the immortality of the soul and everlasting in duration punishment in hell. . . *Wycliffe was no Adventist or Sabbath keeper or Sabbath preacher. Wycliffe would have rather cut his tongue out of his mouth than preach against Sunday keeping. *He did not believe in soul sleep, nor "Eternal punishment" is annihilationism', or scores of the other Adventist heresies* Wycliffe, confessed Sunday as the Lord's Day of worship of Christ* and would condemn Ellen G. White and the Adventist Church faster than the Pope for their heresies. Yet, Ellen G. White praises Wycliffe in order to justify her own heresies, EVEN HE DID NOT PROFESS and so does the Adventist Church. Because for both, the means justifies the end. They both make "strange bedfellows" Ellen G. White makes for herself and the Adventist Church. The same is true about Huss, Tyndale Martin Luther, Zwingle, Calvin and the litany of others EGW praises. *Every one of them she praises, "had the mark of the Beast" and worshiped, "Satan" according to her writings* If the Adventist's and their like *were honest* , they would admit they have never kept ONE Sabbath according to the commandment which forbids, "ANY WORK" . What hypocrisy. It's all for show.

White: " "No matter how powerful the evidence given of Jesus' being the Son of God, the Redeemer of the world; *they had murdered him* , and could not receive any evidence in his favor. Their only hope and consolation, like SATAN 's after his fall, was in trying to prevail against the Son of God. They (THE SABBATH KEEPERS) continued their rebellion by persecuting the disciples of Christ, and putting them to death. " *(Spiritual Gifts, 101)* Anyone who despises the authority of the church Christ Himself instituted, all find themselves being proponents of lawlessness of religious and doctrinal anarchy*. Contrary to the teachings of the EGW, Adventists, Mormons and their like, it is those who REMAIN in the apostolic Church who are the true believers and bothers in Christ, NOT THOSE WHO LEAVE THE CHURCH!! And squarely put the epistle of John explicitly identifies those who WENT OUT of the apostolic church as “One of the MANY ANTI CHRISTS!” 1John 2 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 *They went out from us,* but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: *but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.*
