I put my little dog in the front basket on my 5star scooter and he is just enough weight to give the front wheel drive traction and pulls so much better it works so well with him in the front I hate riding it without him😊

I am a disabled guy, one handed, issues with balance, bought a regular trike, as I'm too poor to get an electric one and it's awesome. Still it's kinda hard to pedal as it's heavy and grippy - going for trip like 10 kilometers is a bit much (over 6 miles) and that's how far my work is, even though I can enjoy bike lanes for the most of my ride there. I hope to one day be able to afford such trike so I can dump a car for most of my commute, but by car itself was almost as expensive as the better electric trikes, lol. It warms my heart to see you enjoying these trikes. All the best to you two on your retirement!

This is something to consider in a few years. I will be 79 in June and use a step-thru 20" Fat tire bike. My only regret is that e-bikes and scooters were unavailable fifty years ago with the power and battery life. In five to ten years, trikes will likely sell more than e-bikes! My final comment - I love the dog riding at the 7-minute mark.

Hi George, I agree they do seem to be getting much more popular. Tinker seems to enjoy riding along so we ordered a enclosed dog cart to tow behind the e-bike and it has big windows to see out and seem safer as we like taking her with us.

We liked the look of the bikes, but when we watched your videos it sold us. We learned more from you two then I ever have at a bike store. I used to ride a Kowasaki to work and later I purchased a Cannondale bike with all the bells & whistles. Now at 76 I am unable to get my leg over the high bar, so I stood on a box to mount it like a horse, lol. Come the first very small bridge in our community and I didn't have the strength to pedal over it, nor could I get my feet to the ground fast enough so down I went (fortunately, I was only a little bruised but very embarrassed). We live in a Walkable Community in Bonita Springs, Florida where there are wide pedestrian walkways ( & many bridges) that lead to the community center and all over the neighborhood. Even the streets are safe and easy to navigate as the speed limit is 25mph. When I get my trike, I plan on getting a tall flag and a loud horn so my neighbors have warning that I'm approaching and also a brighter light in back/front so I can see any alligators that may be out for a stroll in the evening..

What an awesome video! I just love seeing the both of you out there enjoying life and scooting along on those E-bikes! Technology can be good sometimes, and in this case, it is for sure. Another Segway to this video, would be to show how you can charge those E-bikes off of your solar panels, or your solar generators. Either way, you have the best of both worlds and we can't wait to see more of your adventures. As always, God bless you both and safe travels! Cheers my friends!

Hello, just watched your episode with the electric trikes. I do have some suggestions for y’all to enjoy more and feel safer. (1) the lower you can comfortably put the seat the lower your center of gravity is and that helps make them more stable. (2) not sure if that model has different speed/assist settings, but it looks like y’all need to set them as slow as they will go. (3) REMEMBER that it is a 3WHEELER and that means they are about as wide as your hands are, if you don’t take wider turns, you will eventually get one of your back tires off the edge of the sidewalk and down you will go! (4) I know when you were filming her go into the grocery store she just got off and went in, I know you were there with the trike, but these electric bikes are now the most stolen item. If the bike is locked up, if there is anything else that can be stole off of them it will be gone as soon as you turn your head. Good luck, stay safe

Terrific pacing of the video. It's cool to see the excitement from the people you've met over using an electric trike or bike. Your wife mentioned a problem with making turns. You need to lean into the turn, just shift your weight a bit, be sure to take the turns at a slow speed. There are reverse electric trikes that have the two wheels in the front. Those are more stable to use. There are also tilting reverse electric trikes. Sometimes they also go by tadpole electric trikes. Electric Bike Review can bring you up to speed on all the variations, what to look for, to avoid, prices, honest reviews from a person who sustained a knee injury which lead him to get into electric bikes for their peddle assist and full throttle. If you ever need more cargo room try getting a detachable trailer to hitch to the rear frame or rear of a (e) bike. There are all manner of sizes, shapes, configurations, and even partially to fully enclosed (e) bikes & trikes. Those are velomobiles.

Very good. I’ve been looking at these for a while. I’m disabled and can’t ride a two wheeler anymore. I rode a cheap ebike for a while until I crashed and broke my arm. Cheap ones are not the best option. These AddMotor bikes have some sticker shock, but they’re worth it. The features that cause the price are important for safety and comfort and reliability. I just wish that they could get certified as “durable medical devices” so Medicare would pay for it. My Hoveround is about the same price but useless outside, where I need it. I wish they could do a rear drive, but that would add cost; but the torque steer on the front drive hub looks odd. Trikes take a different approach to riding because of the swaying with the terrain. Once you get that down, it’s all good!! I put an old handicap parking tag on my last ebike and that seemed to help keep me from getting hassled. A safety flag is sure worth it too!! I have a blaze orange flag on my outdoor scooter

Hi Rob, the two e-bikes are the only ones we have ridden the ADDMOTOR looks fairly normal to us even with the Front Hub Motor, although I can see an advantage of having the motor on the back axle pushing instead of pulling. All I can say is we really enjoy it and it rides as good as we could hope for and is built rock solid from all we have experienced so far. Adding that blaze orange safety flag seems like a good idea, we have one on our doggie card that I pull and I like it.

My trike does a maximum of 14 MPH. It's primarily a mobility device. Without it, I wouldn't be able to get anywhere without help because I can't drive. The trike you have is a pretty colour. It also can hold more in the rear basket and the top basket.

Hi there. I’m in Melbourne Australia I have the same trike rebranded by Vamos, in mat black finish. Mine has a 500w front wheel motor, 35ah battery with 80+ km range per charge and in Australia we have a law, no registration or licence required for a pedal assisted electric bike with a limited setting set to 25km an hour. I’m 57 years old and chose the trike for better balance too. I’ve had it about 10 weeks now and have done close to 200 km total as I’m medically banned from driving a car until hopefully sometime in the future I’ll get clearance. Meanwhile we sold one of our cars and I walk to work just close to home. I trike everywhere else and for longer distance I trike train trike my way to places. It has allowed me to maintain independence. I bought a kiddie bike trailer to cart my littlest grand-kiddies around locally.

Only electric bikes or trikes allowed in national parks are class one (no throttle, pedal assist up tp 20mph). I got a Gazelle NL c8. Class 1 bike with front and rear racks. $2,500 before sales tax. Upright comfortable Dutch bike. Bosch performance line motor. 10 year warrenty on frame, 1 year on electronics. I'm a 5'11" male, got the XL size. Riding it daily helped me lose 51 pounds, 228 to 167. (Maybe cutting back from a 12 pack a day to a 6 pack per weekend also helped😜)

😢I ride a 26 inch Schwinn Meridian with a 1000Watt/48 Volt-32 AmpHour Lithium-Ion battery. Its a singke speed. I could NEVER have afforded the price of a "Store-Bought" E-Trike after I got injured. I can, now but I prefer my "Home-Built" Trike. I cant walk very good now, and after 3 years in a VA hospital bed THINKING how much I wanted to get OUT, I put it together. I then trained my Service Dog, Button, to pull me.😂 Later, I MOTORIZED it! We now travel all over town with it. She goes 28-30 mph while Mr. Button averages only 6-10 mph! He LOVES to take ME for rides, too. He begins barking as soon as I say to "suit up". He only stops barking once we get moving. He can go for 15 miles with only a few breaks for water and treats. I have no pedal assist. I pedal when i CAN which is not all the time. I use the trike as my Primary form of transportation, too. Most stores here will allow us to ride inside and shop. My E-Trike saved me (AND BUTTON) from being house-bound and dependent on others for a ride, to a mostly independent, tho' handicapped guy and his Service Dog. It also allowed my good old Service Dog, Button to take me for long rides. He now had a REAL JOB, instead of just getting my socks! Or catching mice. It was like being in prison before I learned how to build my trike. Leonard Button is very happy and content, too. Great video by the way. Thank you. Enjoy your retirement!😂❤

  • @JustPassingThru

    @JustPassingThru

    Жыл бұрын

Hi Scott, the electrical connections are all water resistant connectors (they look waterproof) but the manual says not to spray the bike with a hose and use a damp rag to clean. It also recommends not to ride in the rain as the Battery, Motor or Controller could be damaged. In my opinion, I am guessing it would take a fairly strong rain storm to cause damage but hopefully we never get stuck in a rain storm while out riding either the trike or bike. We do plan to ride it quite a bit on the Oregon coast and I am guessing that salt water could be pretty rough on any electric vehicle so will need to be wiped down often with a damp cloth.

  • @JustPassingThru

They are much better on level ground, with Front Wheel drive they the front wheel has a tendency to spin out due to low traction. Gravel seems to be fine but dirt woodland paths could be an issue if tree roots or ruts are present. Three wheels and front wheel drive seem to be best for hard level roadways is our experience

Ì ĺove the video, you two are having so much fun 💕 together. I have issues with stability, and I am on medication. I also have issues with my back and a knee replacement. I lost my freedom because I can no longer drive. So, I am looking into getting a tricycle. I am from the Netherlands, originally bicycle 🚲 riding is the main form of transportation there. So I never drove a car until I emigrated 37 years ago. Now I am stuck at home and I don't like it. Thanks for the great video. 👍🏻 I would love to try it out. One question: How big are the tires 20 inch or 24, 26 inch. Also, is it harder to make turns.

  • @JustPassingThru

The front tire in 24" and the two rear tires are 20" and all are fat tires : 4" wide Glad you enjoyed the video and good luck in finding the right e-trike for you. Pearl really likes this one, it is not hard to turn at all but you do need to make the turns at a reduced speed as it can turn over if you are going too fast but you pretty much can feel how fast is too fast. Other than slowing down for turns it is extremely stable other than rough or uneven ground like the rocks and small ravines Pearl had to drive through in the desert, it is not a mountain or rough terrain vehicle at all.

@Next Exit yeah, I heard you say in the video you were at Yuba, and I was wondering if that was Yuba Lake because we live about 3 hours from there near Ogden. We have been camping there, and it's pure sand pretty much. So I thought that must have been, though. In the Netherlands, the Forrest service keeps all the bike paths in good repair it's hard, solid ground, so even if it rains 🌧 you don't get bogged down in the mud. They are in such good order that when we have ice rain built up, you can skate on them. We had a winter like that in 1978, and our Christmas break was extended because there was at least 10 inches of ice on the roads. Skating ⛸️ was the best way to get around. I would walk the dog, and we had a beagle on a long rope because the Forrest is full of rabbits, so if she picked up a scent, she would just pull me on my skates. I have a few more questions, though. 1. How do you have your trike insured? 2. How well does it do uphill?
