The Government Plot To Erase Native Languages

For more than 100 years, Native children were forcibly taken from their homes and relocated to church or state-run boarding schools. The result of this government program - with the motto “kill the Indian and save the man” - amounted to cultural genocide. For Dakota language teacher Redwing Thomas, saving his Native language today is a matter of resistance. “There's mass amounts of abuse that has happened in those schools, and that's almost directly why we don't know our language today.”

I am so proud of our youger gerneration. They want to know where they came from and what makes them Native. The U.S, government came from my great uncles and aunts. After BIA was done we forgot who we were. It took my tribe over 100 years to find our identity. It was our elders who guided us back through our language. Unforchantly there are still Nations out there that have lost their Identity.

We are still here. We will not be erased. We will not be rejected or disrespected. The Great Spirit has a great way of making nations suffer from their own discrimination. Stop discriminating against Aborigine so-called black people who have lost their sense of who they really are, who have been brain-washed to call themselves African-American. You all know the truth. It is your duty according to the order of The Great Spirit to heal ALL of us from the trauma of the past by inclusion of EVERY native American not just the ones who look like you because the fact are that Mongloid people are not original people of Turtle Island, Aborigines are. @@nope6908 as someone from the former Spanish empire (Guatemala and El Salvador)….I have to agree though that the Spanish were miles better than the English in terms of not annihilating entire cultures. Indigenous words and elements remain strongly fused with Spanish and African customs in our cultures. A few examples Argentina and Uruguay’s national drink mate is indigenous (and they drink it everywhere), and many of the traditions of the rural gauchos were adopted from indigenous traditions (even though most people are genetically European in both countries) Mexico’s dialect of Spanish has hundreds of Native words and it’s cuisine is heavily based on indigenous foods including chiles, corn, beans and more (even Whiter Mexicans eat Mole and Tacos) Brazil’s version of Portuguese is very musical because of the intonation of the indigenous Tupi languages, the first natives the portuguese encountered, not to mention the indigenous foods that are key to Brazilian diet Paraguayans still speak Guarani, and about half of Bolivians speak either Aymara or Quechua. Cuban, Dominican and Puerto Rican people, whose ancestry is mostly Spanish or West African, mostly still use Native Taíno fishing and farming techniques, centuries later. El Salvador’s national foods including pupusas are sourced from indigenous foods, and our dialect of Spanish has many indigenous words (which makes sense the people are genetically half indigenous) And don’t even get me started on Guatemala….the Spanish didn’t “wipe out the native” in this country at all, it’s still very much alive.

What’s your point? The Lakota people in this video have colonized the Blackfeet, who have colonized others. Everyone colonized everyone. It’s not a race thing it’s a human thing

Point is god created each land for certain nations, in the bible he says not to impose yourselves on people in their homeland unless they give you permission then assimilate to them, do not Force oneself on a nation, do not attack nations for greed, do not go to peoples homeland and try to change them to mirror your image it is unjust and unjustifiable and you will be judged, the European colonizers did everything the bible said not to do and said they were doing it in the name of Christianity, to me I wonder where they really came from bc real christians gave indigenous people asylum in churches to protect them from these evil people.

@@tinadraper9143 then why do most christians constantly impose their religion on others and try to get them to convert? It's ironic. I say this without disrespect.

@@tinadraper9143 then go and erase all of human history then? LMAO. This has been happening from the beginning from time and before the Bible. Half the world doesn't know what that is. All territories in the world today have been exchanged and fought over. And without Europeans and men in particular, you wouldn't have the technology you take for granted.
