One day, a few years back, I was fishing the shoreline of a local river, & an Environmental Police Officer (Game Warden) was walking the shoreline also, and picking stuff up along the way. When I asked him what he was picking up, he said it was used/discarded Power Bait. “We just wrapped up a study that found it only takes 2 Power Eggs to kill a duckling, so I’m doing my part to save as many as I can. Please let the other folks using them know about this, and to not leave them where you fish!”

Look up how to make your own power bait. Literally is just flour and water. Knead it well to develop the gluten, the final texture makes it stick to a hook better. The only downside if you're casting out often, it dissolves quicker than powerbait. So if you're fishing with a bobber and casting often you have to replace it often. Other than that you just have to add whatever flavor you want. I add garlic powder and finely chopped chicken liver. If you roll them in the balls and put them in the microwave for short. Of time they become floating powerbait balls. Just too small test batches to give him the float right in a cup of water You can even add food coloring to get a color you like. 1 remember watching a KZread video comparing the different colors the power base to see what fish like to bite. Anything pink or red is usually the best. Probably cause it's bright and represents the color of blood and flesh. For homemade catfish bait, chicken liver is a very good bait, but is a pain to get on your hook. That's why you cut up chicken breast, and marinated in blended chicken liver, Cherry Kool-Aid, and garlic powder. Stays on the hook, has a bright color cuz the Cherry Kool-Aid, and the taste and smell of chicken liver and garlic. Even the sugary taste of the Kool-Aid is a flavor they like

No way so tomorrow I’m going trout fishing for the first time at a pond that was just stocked I’m super excited and today I was going through my dad’s fishing gear and saw that same blade bait you were using which is crazy so I definitely will be trying that out

If you're going to fish make sure to buy a fishing guide from whatever state you are in. Here in PA you are limited to how many fish you can eat because of the chemicals from farming that made their way into the different bodies of water. I'm in NE PA and some of the lakes and ponds here limit you to eating 1 fish every 1 to 3 months. It's good to know information.

@@woopass2010 I have a lake behind my house that I own a few acres of. I need to have the water tested so I know if I can eat the bass I catch back there. It's so shitty how the world is today. I hunt deer because it's a cheap way to fill the freezer with meat and I remember back in NY there was a year or two were people couldn't hunt because some deer disease ravaged them.

@@joshp2542 it's not some disease. It's the deer equivalent of mad cow and it is lethal 100% of the time if it gets in your system. It is a major problem in the entire northeast deer population and you should never eat a deer from that region without having it tested first.

@@mikesixx7655 Now I live in PA and luckily the deer here don't have it. Mad cow disease is pretty fucked up. There also is CWD. Usually when you field dress the deer you can tell if it has Chronic Wasting Disease and it's mainly in southern PA.

Always thought those baits were more for ice fishing but now I wanna try! I drag mini crankbaits (always purple Saomos) behind my canoe with an electric trolling motor and nobody catches more fish. Some trout... lots of walleye and smallmouth

Last fall while I was bass fishing one of my favorite Spots in MA, I caught 3 bruiser rainbows on a topwater spook (6 inch spook), a 3/4 ounce lipless crank and a 6XD crankbaits! I was most surprised at the spook. They only stock trout in this particular pond during the spring, so they may have been holdovers.
