I feel like gourmand's true ending is the one where he finds the other slugcats and that it's just a straight up dunk on everything the ancients stood for. Basically an entire ending saying "Ey maybe if you make live enjoyable instead of investing so much in trying to die you won't want to die in the first place" for lack of a more tactful wording. I think the Slugtree endings are that in general quite frankly
