He was probably roughly around Vice Admiral level. Hear me out. Him and Calgara the strongest in his village were the only ones able to kill the God Snake with ease. Zoro couldn't cut the snake during that time, Enel couldn't kill the snake with his lightening, No one could kill the snake. But they did with ease. Noland was able to lift the entire half of the island while he was being swallowed by it. Noland was marked as a Admiral back in that time period, where it was mostly peaceful as he mentioned, other than the Tontatta tribe liberation we heard of. The tontatta are strong, the strongest probably just under vice admiral level, or around that. So I would put Noland somewhere around Vice Admiral - Admiral level. based on these facts alone. Noland also seemingly possesed the VOAT, like roger luffy and Momo(Still kinda iffy there even though hes shown some aspects of having it).

Just realized how much of Noland's backstory was cut out of the anime. Went back to read it in the manga. What a beautiful story of friendship and courage. I am still confused as to why Nolan allowed the king to kill him, maybe the king had some absurdly strong henchman who had a hack devil fruit.

  • @Parvision-

Noland was too good of a person. When I reread his execution, he did not care a single bit about dying it felt. He was just thinking about kalgara and the shandians well being. Like his tears werent for himself it was because he was dying not knowing their wellbeing, which is why i think he didnt die with a smile like the rest of the D clan, but we saw most of the D clan die resolved in them completing some part of their will. Like I'd imagine if Ace didnt save luffy, he wudnt have died with a smile or if Saul didnt save robin, he wudnt have laughed in his final moments.

Beautiful friendship?? Noland basically betrayed them by telling a greedy king about his kind "friends" island full of gold that he was welcomed in to take gold. The king most likely would of robbed them and insulted what they held sacred which would of cost lives. If Noland didn't end up being executed and found the island again most likely the people on the island would of been executed by the king.

Maybe this is just a translation error, but I understood Calgara saying "You're the first guests this island has had", not necessarily saying they are the first PEOPLE to go there in 400 years, but the first people that were WELCOME on Jaya in 400 years.

  • @margon9181

    @margon9181

Just to add to this, in chapter 286, we are shown some random intruders being hunted by Calgara, so the map was not necessarily from the Void Century because Noland was not the first person to EVER set foot on Jaya since the VC.

It might not be the knock-up stream that moves but the island of Jaya itself. There is reason to believe that the islands in the Grandline are constantly moving which would help explain why it cannot be properly navigated and you have to rely on log posts that point you in the general direction of an island-- and, even then, the journeys to those islands don't take a predictable amount of time. The islands constantly moving in addition to the magnetics there making normal compasses not work would go far to explain this.

I think a hidden island is somewhere between whisky peak and reverse mountain. The log pose they used turned 180 degrees in a couple of seconds.. If it was the ship that turned around they would have felt it because turning a ship 180 in seconds is really fast, so its definitely the log pose pointer that turned. Same thing happened when the pointer suddenly pointed to the hidden island skypiea. and just like shandora im guessing its presence was also somehow erased by the goverment.

There are two ways to get into the Grand Line. One is through Reverse Mountain -- which may or may not have existed 400 years ago -- and another is to go over the red line from whatever blue you are in, and them drop into the Grand Line. Nolan was using the 2nd method, which is why they required government approval, as the WG controls travel over the red line. That doesn't affect your theory, except to say that that approval is likely still required. It's not something that has changed over time.

you can also theorize that Noland may have been in search of devil fruits since he is a botanist. also, with Vegapunk's knowledge being 500 years ahead of time, maybe Noland lived in the time period that Vegapunk got a lot of his knowledge from. Came to watch this video after your second stream with Mork, but I subscribed after you explained the gift you sent (which first off, just the fact that you sent a gift after the first stream was all class). I bought into the Raid failing (or a major shakeup on that level) from shortly after I watched original video all the way until Kiado stayed down. I was likely steadier in standing by the theory throughout act 3 than he was, but I also wasn't the face of the theory; I didn't have hundreds goobers trying to dunk on me week after week to get likes from the rest of the giblet-heads. It didn't pan out, there was no act 4 nor act 5 (no curtain falls at least), but he held to his conviction till the end. Despite all that noise, he stuck to his guns: his analysis was sound and the chapter to chapter developments didn't change that. How you described the gift, tying it to a major theme of the story, I knew you were worth keeping an eye on. Didn't hurt that this video was a banger. Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to it.

I've been preaching for 10 years, that skypia is the most important arc in regards to lore and and all the set up it has. The flashback is the most cathartic experience in op for me personally. I get really emotional when luffy rings that bell, for wiper and cricket to get a centuries long resolution to the amazing relationship between Calgara and Nolan. If skypia is a microcosm of the entire macrocosm of one piece like many people have said, then I can only imagine how cathartic the ending of the series will be.

I think it would make more sense if the Gorosei found out about Noland’s journey, and a secret D member caused the knock up stream to have Shandora up in the sky. This D member probably figured that the Poneglyph must be protected at all costs, and following the Reverie, the Gorosei granted permission to the king to go there with Noland - an impossible journey as you said. And covered their bases with the false testimony and story books.

and there is a diffrence between being a visitor, invader or a guest, notice how it says "you're the first guests" and "we took from an invader" a guest implies he is welcomed, and a invader is someone thats usualy not welcomed.

The knock up stream is one of the reasons I do have the theory that Im's devil fruit is that associated with the God of the Rain (the Water-Water fruit), meaning that she/he haves power over any body of water. Some may say Dragon's devil fruit is the one associated with the deity of rain but I doubt that as he most likely haves a mythical zoan.

I found something weird also remember when they found the map of skypiea I was wondering who drew it and it was probably the girl in the picture that sanji had after salvaging the ship and she kind of looks like nami but that’s another theory. I found it weird that they were sentenced to cloud drifting and had they never been sentenced they would have confirmed the existence of skypiea and the land of gold. They were also explorers just like Noland so long ago it was the age of exploration and now it is the great pirate era

  • @TheJamcentral1

Love this theory dude! Skypiea is my favorite arc for the reasons you explore. It really underlines the entire story. Also I feel this explains enies lobby and wanos odd water structure. I swear to people Kids power is significant for geographic reasons too. Magnetism for the islands to even move across the sea. There’s a bunch of lore that can be unearthed by simple questioning the structure of geographic novelties.

The World Government somehow creating or releasing the Tree Fever is such a devious idea considering everything you’ve laid out in this video. If you were the Gorosei, and were worried that some botanist would develop the ability to hear the history of the Void Century from plants, what’s the best possible way to counter that? Creating a disease the comes from trees, thus causing people to cut down forests, seems like a pretty excellent idea.

At around 9:00 when you mention the knockup stream and the five years it took to get permission from Mariejois, I don't think the world govt. decided to use the knockup stream to blow Shandora away. In that arc we see cracks developing in the island, and people conjecturing that a big knockup stream was very likely. I think it was just a co-incidence. Or maybe the World Govt. was waiting for the island to be knocked up and then give their permission. Or if you think that the World Govt. actively used the knockup stream, then I suppose that the only explanation is that it had already planned it even before Noland reached it. Which is quite similar to Sabo being in that island (i forget the name) which the Gorosei comment as "unfotunate" implying that they had already planned on erasing that island, and Sabo was co-incidentally present there at that moment. Great video though! Very interesting.

First thing, Amazing theory I never made the connections between the reveries and Nolan’s time. I think there may be more with the reveries. Although I do want to say I feel like there is a good chance that the knock up stream could be the result of ancient weapon because of it power being in a localized area, repeats, and destroys what they wanted to get rid of. The issues with it being a ancient weapon is that how did the WG get a Ancient weapon and why does the stream move, but something compareable to the knock up stream may be enies lobby. Enies lobby lowkey looks like a deactived knock up stream, so maybe the WG can only have one knock up stream active at a time or something lmao😂.If not then the knock up stream might’ve been an admiral, or. Gorosei member doing something. Also too about botany what if vegapunk is not just a scientist but also specifically a devil fruit botanist, right like judge is an inventor on the level of franky but he mainly does genetics, so what if vegapunk is a botanist for the WG, I don’t know if we have seen any devil fruits in the past, I mean we know some like the hito hito: nika existed before, but maybe there is a way to naturally cultivate devil fruits and vegapunk isn’t satisfied with the production amount, so they start making artificial fruits along side the genuine fruits. A thought i had mid way through the video is that nolands nub on his head doesn’t look particularly human and I know that his descendants have it too but maybe Noland isn’t human but something more fungal. That bump always dent funny to me, but if not I still think it may be a different race. I can’t wait for your void century video!

@@Parvision- Yeah it was a super old theory from a channel that I don't think even exists anymore. "One Piece Japanese Theory" I think. It's such an old video (and I was so much younger) that I don't really remember the specifics of it. All I can remember of it was that the lay-out of the structure somehow worked really well as a "gun", with the lava from the burning hell heating up water to create pressure and shooting some sort of "bullet" out the top. For the longest time I would always bring it up as a joke when talking about theories, but I also always secretly hoped it would turn out to be real. And then I saw your video on the hidden poneglyph in Impel Down where you talk about how the place probably wasn't originally built for use as a prison and my first fucking thought was "yeah, because impel down was built to be a weapon". And now this video has added even more fuel to this joke of a theory and I love it.

Only question: Why does the world government continue to commence the upstream where jaya once was? I feel like the upstream is an alternative use of Uranus, so maybe they can't fully control how Uranus performs the upstream as either: 1) Uranus continues to return there to upstream the vicinity or 2) Uranus's power, once used at an area, will continue to upstream the area even after it's departure.

You channel made me really curious to see more about vander decken and noland i would love for them to be the roger and xebec of their time, since the chronology seems to work pretty well. Also i think the knockup stream combines better with with pluton than with uranus, hear me out on that one, according to montblancc it seems that the knockup stream comes from below the ground and pluton is the god of the underworld, alo its said that pluton is a a ship taht can make islands disappear, so it fits verys well in my opinion, i just dont know how it got to wano.

I have a vague memory that the shadorians did not know what the knock up stream was, because the earthquake that kept happening were assumed to be gods wrath The King of Nolan were a villian in all of this and greedy as well While the death trip may have been intentional, I think they found out the Jaya was gone and used that to make sure the greedy king would slander Nolan’s making him the primarily villian to Nolands story while the WG was not seen Destroying botanist sounds right, the WG did want to control things
