The Gorilla Alien - Explained
Known mainly from the Kenner toyline, the Gorilla Alien is a threatening Xenomorph variant taking on the traits of gorilla-like beings from the planet Zeevan.

I had the Gorilla alien toy and bull alien as well. Aliens and Predator action figures were my all time favorite when I was a kid. Terminator action figures were awesome too lol
What would a Xenomorph be like if it came from beings with "disabilities" or birth "defects"? Here is something to tackle.

Darth Bane umm... I think the human reproductive system is more known than a fictional reproductive system the aliens have... Do aliens from the movies take years to grow fully like humans? Nope... Do the aliens have hardcore sex like humans do? Nope... Do the aliens take a dump like humans? Nope... Therefore, you bashing my interest in this matter, is invalid as well as stupid. Thank you and have a good day ;)

The thought of a xenomorph with dawns syndrom kind of makes me giggle a bit :D The thought is very interesting though... Why should an alien only take on the good qualities of its host and none of the bad? With all that said, there is a possibility that the non-suitable hosts are beinge filtered out and killed for food, rather than being used as hosts. To my knowledge, the xenomorph is blind, as far as the sense of normal eye sight goes, and they "see" by using echo location and phermones, so for them to be able to seperate a bad host from a good one is not entirely impossible in my opinion. Sorry if none of this makes sense, but english isn't my first language and I have a hard time phrasing myself :P

eSeReS you made sense. I understand what you're talking about. But say if the species has no choice to select unhealthy hosts to survive, then I don't see them being that picky. But this topic does make one think though doesn't it? I wasn't trolling. I genuinely am interested to know.
honestly this is one of the most amazing channels I've ever come across. you do great work on the videos and the xenomorph/alien universe is a fascinating one and a personal favorite. keep up the good work man!
But is it still susceptible to bananas?

The recent comics are pretty good and feature Aliens, Predator and the Engineers. It was mainly the AvP movies that were terrible. The games have always been pretty good too. If you like the world I couldn't recommend the new comics enough. They deal a lot with the black goo and what it does to planets eco systems and also what it can do to a synthetic. I'm pretty sure it's set after Prometheus and Aliens but it's good to see how they could use the black goo in Covenant and future movies. You can get Prometheus: Fire And Stone as a full collection which includes Prometheus, aliens, predator and AvP 1-4 The new run, Life And Death is still ongoing but you can get the single issues 1-4 of Predator, Aliens and Prometheus. The AvP only has one issue out up to now I think.

This is my favourite channel right now. Not only do I love your research into deeper alien lore but the presentation is so serene and soothing that these are a simply a sheer joy to listen to. I look forward to the many videos that are to come in the future. I would love to see a video on the differences between the xenomorph in Alien to the xenomorphs in aliens. In aliens they seem much smaller and are easily dispatched and there appears to be more detail on the exoskeleton. keep up the good work!

in alien there is a deleted scene where the crew are being transformed into eggs, its compared to how wasps make their hive if aliens eat then i be leave that they turn flesh into the substance and spit it out.

i have seen this scene you are talking about. but if anything maybe the new alien films could shed some light on it.
oh man that takes me back. I had a bunch of those growing up and loved those comics. Glad to see a review of this and hopefully any others on these. It is a fun trip down memory lane for sure. I always really liked this one and the scorpion alien.
Gorillas don't climb trees OR swing from vines!!! Anyway, I'd imagine a Gorilla-morph would be highly unlikely. They easily have enough strength to rip a face-hugger off themselves and would probably die in the acid bath that would follow.
@eternalyfeful

Firebrand...I hear you but don't you think the facehugger renders it's host powerless instantaneously, it seems like that in the movies...I never saw anyone flapping all over the place, reaching at the facehugger to try to remove it. It seems that once it's on you...that's it.
@Nemoticon

Just another KZread cat Good point, I remember the scenes also. Many parasitic organisms in nature subdue or numb the parts of their host to keep themselves from harm. I would say though, that's some pretty fast acting 'ability' considering most creatures natural instincts are to bite and such reaction times are pretty damn fast.

Cory Cas In Aliens 1986, the face hugger has its tail around Ripley's neck but not its legs... Hicks and Hudson pull it off her. Face huggers are strong but can be over come, just don't make them bleed!

Really cool channel. Keep those vids coming!
Goodness gracious I remember these toys from my youth. Picked em up often from flea markets sans their packaging. The gorilla alien, Apone, and weird dropship looking craft that had an alien containment device. Good times.
rip alien harambe
I had a gorilla alien when I was a teenager. I also had a scorpion alien and a bull alien. I ended up giving them to my nephew. Nowadays I collect just Neca aliens, like the dog alien, neomorph, Alien 3 creature pack and others.
Gorilla and bull alien were one of my faforite alternative forms when I was kid and those figures were released.
Keep up the good work!
These are great videos. Have you done one on the various Engineer/Space Jockey born aliens? If not, you should definitely do it!
Could you do a video about the Engineers' native planet and their civilisation? I'm curious to see if it has been explored in comics. Maybe also a video about the history of Weyland-Yutani ? I really enjoy watching your videos, you're doing a great job !
The Gorilla Alien was my first Alien action figure in the early 90s it was badass it could spit acid (well water) love your channel bro keep up the good work👍🏻👌🏻
YOU GOT TO UPLOAD MORE PLEASE!!!
Great narration. Background music establishes mood. Don’t change a thing.
Loving this channel. I had a bunch of the toys as a kid. Of course it made no sense in the movie continuity but who cares when you're a kid and you can get Ripley and Hicks figures? I remember the Alien designs for the toys were really neat.
I never did own the Gorilla Alien but I did have the Snake Alien when I was much younger. It was a pretty weird design, given that it didn't have arms & instead has a snake or more specifically, a cobra-like physiology. Doesn't stop it from being a deadly threat as it uses it's snake body to slither rapidly, chasing down it's prey. It's bite is also poisonous in addition to being acidic, if I remember correctly.
you are growing and you deserve it
I wish dark horse moved on the KENNER line and made just a whole spin off run apart from the comic book mini comics. These designs were amazing
Chestbursters out for Harambe. Loving the channel! I used to own a fair few of the Kenner toys but never had this one. I remember seeing it and thinking what the hell?
Love your channel. Will you start to cover alien video games?
Thanks! This was always my favorite alien figure. I still have mine from back in the day and am currently looking for the new one.
I would love to see more of these. It has a wonderful design. I'd really like to see more variations in the drones.
Cool! I still have this toy from the 90s (squirts water and has lever action arms) plus the mini comic it came with. My 4 year old son plays with it now (as well as bull alien, scorpion alien, snake alien and others from this era).
I can't stop watching these videos
I had the Queen and the Drone alien toys. I remember seeing the gorilla alien, and even a snake alien, from the same line of toys but didn't want them since they seemed farfetched and silly looking. Specially the gorilla since it was light blue toned. Love the vids, keep at it
I used to own almost all of the Kenner toys. I grew up in the 80's and LOVED all things Alien. Unfortunately between 2003 through 2008 I had a Rx drug problem and sold all of the figures!! They were really something else man. Still have every game made I can get my hands on. I also have the Comic series with an autographed Number one of AvP. Best franchise ever. I look forward to sharing my love of Alien with both my sons as well as my new grandson! Great channel! Subbed
Could you do a video explaining some of the chronological order of the Alien universe? Mainly, after Prometheus, right after. Did the Deacon creep on board the ship with Elizabeth Shaw and David? Is that the downed ship we see in Covenant's trailer? Thanks for the uploads!
I had the Cobra Alien & the Flying Alien Queen toys along with the Evac ship. I always wanted to collect the toys, but once I had grown enough to really appreciate them, they had become incredibly difficult to find or really expensive.
@2:06 right on. I’m surprised that a xenomorph hosted with a species so massively strong and agile, also with a tail would be terribly difficult to kill.
Awwww yea!!! new channel to binge watch!!
Have you done one on the mantis alien yet? Interested in learning more about the swarm.
I have my Kenner Gorilla Alien!!!! Love your videos! What about a video like this for the Mantis?
Happy Alin Day, Derek!!
I had quite a few of the toys back in the 90s: Ridley, Hicks, Drake, Bishop, scorpion Alien, Queen Alien, mantis Alien, cougar alien, the power loader and the hover tank that made noises. I also had a couple of the predator figures as well: Broken tusk and a dark green one with bolas but I can’t remember his name. The comics were always interesting as they were reminiscent of the Dark Horse series, minus the blood and gore.
The alligator xeno in the batman vs aliens comic was an amazing design
The Gorilla Alien was the first Aliens toy I ever bought. I have 3 opened ones and one still in the package from the original run. Really neat toys. I also picked up the NECA remake and think it's really neat.
I clicked on this video because I had that toy. You should definitely do a video on the toys. Remember the Bull Alien or Atax? Keep it up dude!

**Yes! More Gorillamorph!!**
I had most of the Action Figures. Would be neat to see brief videos about the variety of Aliens they came up with...if not for nostalgia's sake.
Would make an awesome movie. Btw....can you do some vids on the Engineers and possibly their home planet ? Great vids and very enlightening information. Peace.
Would love to see a snake alien vid, was always my fav.
I'm not sure what line they were from but I had a toy of the Bull Xenomorph. You could push it's neck in and it had a button you would push to release it, like it was ramming with it's head. I also had a Queen Xenomorph that had wings, could grip with it's feet and had an opaque blueish colour.
we had a couple alien action figures in the house that belonged to my younger brother. I remember being blown away by them
Yeah I had the gorilla alien toy as a kid. I also had a flying queen and the "queen face hugger" which in another video you call a super face hugger. Those toys are long gone now. They were played with excessively even to the point of breaking in some cases. Each toy came with a small comic.
I used to own the queen alien from that toy line. It has this cool button that allowed the inner jaw to pop in and out from the mouth and another button I believe that made it do a tail swipe move. Man I miss my action figures. I ended up selling them all in a garage sell in high school.
I had most of the original Kenner toy run xenomorphs as well as Ripley, Hicks, Bishop, and the 2nd run character A.T.A.X. and flying queen. The comics were a little bit campy at times, but seeing as it was made for kids, and brought some interesting variants to the setting, it was alright. The comics would be 2-part stories starting with a Marine character and ending with the corresponding alien.
I owned all of the alien action figures when I was a kid and I loved them. I really would like to see a video done on the character ATAX from the toy line if you wouldn't mind doing one. I always thought he was interesting since he had an alien "suit" that he could walk around in and the Xeno's would take no notice to him.
I remember these toys very fondly.
I had the gorilla alien figurine when I was young, it's head was a rubber squeeze much like a turkey baster that you could suck up water and squirt it out ! also had the scorpion , bull and queen aliens...they were awesome ...wish I still had them
I think this is the scariest xenomorph alongside the original from "Alien". I owned every single Alien action figure, including the power loader! I was obsessed with these films as a child.
Ah, good memories. I had almost every single Aliens toy; still have.
thanks for the video
I always wanted to have more of the Xenomorph variants when I was kid. All I ever had was the panther alien.
I still have that toy and my brother had the Bull Alien. I knew of the movies thanks to those toys.
0:00 also know as the harambalien if this is the same line of toys then i had the basic alien soldier who disassembles with a button push as though fragged by a pulse rifle
Awesome! i have this toy when i was about 8 years old! than's for bring my memories back! mate!
keep up the cool content i own the power loader toy! one of the arms broke off though ):
That's so crazy!!! I remember those!! I used to have hicks and the queen alien, I still have them but need to find them hahaha
Oh I had this toy when I was a little kid :) one of my faves
Thanks for posting. I did have this one as a kid, along with a few others. What are you thoughts on Ajax - I think that was his name. He was a marine wearing a power suit that looked like an alien exoskeleton.
here we observe the wild harambe-morph
I dunno who you are but I love your vids
Flying Queen. Sickest toy I ever owned.
i had a bunch of the alien figures, loved them. i almost want to recollect them
lol, damn, now this one takes me back to my childhood on the 80's & 90's, lol I had TONS of the Kenner toys, swear I think I had at least 1 of each one the made, including the main marines, Ripley, her loader, the containment ship, queen and her hive with runny goo slime, each of their comics, some I had 2 of, like the scorpion since it looked closest to the warriors LOL, man, may have to go back to collecting those, since most my kid stuff always got gotten rid of by garage sales and constant moving :/.
i think something worth exploring could be the inmense variety of alien mutations, due to the complexity and adaptablility of its genome (which i found only once in a website long ago)
I loved the Scorpion Alien action figure!
Question for future use: What do Xenomorphs eat? How do they create their hive?
Had the Gorilla Alien toy and was the first of the collection (had all but one alien figure). Also had the transparent Predator figure that you could only get through mail.
Could you cover the marines themselves? Profiles or other types of weapons and armor at their disposal?
I used to have the swimmer alien toy. You should a show on that one.
A lot of people criticise the Kenner Aliens toy line for their incredibly outlandish Xenomorph designs, but I feel like it's an extremely creative spin-off concept for the Alien franchise. Obviously not for the films but for more comics, games or even an AVP movie, that would be good of course...
I had the Bull Alien toy from Kenner. In hindsight, a lot of the Kenner _Aliens_ toys were a bit out there and silly looking. I do like the idea of the "DNA Reflex" giving Xenos adaptive traits for their environments, though. So even if some of the Kenner designs were a bit too extravagant, I could still see Xenos with fin-like tails and webbed limbs coming from fish and amphibian hosts for example. A Gorilla spawned Xeno would probably resemble the human one but bulkier and run on all fours most of the time.
Definitely had a power loader and a few more of the action figures. I especially liked the flying queen figure.
I actually had all of the figures, with my first being the scorpion alien. Loved those things!
Still own almost all of those action figures and vehicles. Also, you should do some videos on the weapons of the Alien Universe. I mean, the M41 and M56 are some of the most iconic and loved weapons of the scifi/fantasy movie genre's.
I have this one, flying queen, and the praying mantis one. Good memories.
Had the gorilla alien (black on black), the snake alien, the crab alien and the bull alien (red). There were also more articulated, slender alien action figures that were released later that I had.
I'd love to see an explanation on the Ravager and Carrier aliens from Aliens Vs Predator: Extinction.
I got the new gorilla alien by neca & man I really enjoy your videos
I don't know about the gorilla specifically but, it would definitely be nice to see some more clever variants in the movies. The comics already have plenty. Interestingly enough, the gorilla xenomorph is the only xenomorph toy I've ever owned until very recently. One of my friends growing up was a toy collector and he gave it to me as a birthday gift the one year. Sadly, it evaporated over the years but, I still remember the strange, grasping action the toy had. :)
I had this one! Also had the Bull and Scorpion alien.
Had the Ripley toy, the Flying Queen Alien and i think it was the 'Bull' type alien. My cousins had the whole set including the power loader
can you cover the the red xenomorph or the queen mother
I got the figure from my grandparents a few years ago I didn't know it was this and that it was a Kenner figure until just now
Hey you should do a video about the bull alien. he and the queen were my favorite alien toys growing up. I still own the bull alien
Could you do one on the history of The Colonial Marines?
wanted to own the toys but by the time I found out about it, they were gone from the local stores or were not shipped out of country abroad.
