Eli Wallach should have received an Oscar for his performance.

I agree, but I don't think Eli Wallach received the Oscar because it was an Italian movie made in 1966 but not released in the United States until 1969, meaning he would have had to have been nominated for the 1970 awards, four years after the movie was made. A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For A Few Dollars More (1965) were not released in the United States until 1967.

@@jacobrivers5728 I didn't realize that.
The most wonderfully weird, yet compelling relationship. One moment they get along like a house on fire, the next they stab each other in the back. Brilliant chemistry on display between Eastwood and Wallach, they're a delight to watch.

Tuco describing Blondie. It is not in this clip but in the movie. "He's tall, he's blonde, he smokes cigars and he's a pig" Eli Wallach and Clint Eastwood together made the best western of all time in my opinion.

i've seen it many times and when it came out in 1968, it's grown into one of the best movies of all time. it just took people awhile to realize how good it is on many levels, plot, character development, music and entertainment value. the movie lived up to it's name.
It's a pity that acting today isn't such a hit. Real acting and performance with this golden era. No special effects, just plain old fashioned and wonderful acting. Pity, today's film industry cannot adopt such a wonderful copy of this. This is true acting and a fantastic Western. Entertainment at its best!
Two of the best characters in film history with such magnificent chemistry One of my top five films of all time 👌

@peakdennis1
Жыл бұрын
Eastwood had bad skin as soon as his thirties hit and he was 35 when this was filmed. Pretty sure the guy wouldn't even know what sun screen was if you told him he needed it. And the funny thing is even with the damaged skin he was still one of the best looking men in the world. Terrible how aged his skin was at such a young age though. He's lucky he never got skin cancer.
