The Gonds’ Own Tribal Tomato Chutney!!!
Yeah, you read it right. I had the great fortune to share time and kitchens with a few Gondi families.
Thanks to these ladies who made it fresh for us while letting me stand by them while making - this is by far the tastiest & spiciest tomato chutney that I ever ‘experienced’!
A heartening validation for me to see their centuries old traditions match with my practices like using coriander & fenugreek leaves in place of their respective seeds in dishes.
Here’s hoping you get to play with this recipe in your kitchens!
PS: Almost all the ingredients for this chutney were freshly picked from their backyard gardens, while the 'generously' used chilli powder was premixed with salt!
