Yeah you don't hit a 3 iron from the rough usually, if a bad lie or deep rough you can get farther using a 5 or 6 iron due to more loft. You can't always just use your highest club and expect it to go that distance. That is from the tee and fairway. The rough is rough for a reason, you need more loft.

I would like full kinect control and maybe a Scotish accent on the commentator. The ability to hear quite polite clapping from gallery.

For Xbox or Ps gamers maybe. But the best by far keep being Links 2003, even now in 2019.

This game is amazing...it's not an EA, arcade style game...it's all skill. I've been playing since day one and have no problems shooting -10 to -18 at times depending on course difficulty. TGC2 coming out in spring of 2017 with literally millions of clothing options, improved course designer, better lighting (which is already awesome), clubhouses, and many other improvements...this is already the best golf game ever, and it's going to beget even better!

as the reviewer said, a range finder in real life would change that, yes the course in itself does stay static, but your position in relativity to the flag is different, a range finder in real life would remedy that, so why not allow that in game.

I am addicted to this game on my PS4 Pro and you adjust to the issues regarding rough and sand. In short, it is an AMAZING GAME!

Me too. Man I don’t get the hate for this game. I still play it all the time. It’s addicting. I turn off the ball tracer to make it more realistic

This game really comes alive when you join one of the tour communities such as TGC Tours. The combination of the competitive play with the creative capabilities of the course creator makes this by far the best golf game I've played.

Can u download courses from the community and then play them offline?

Maybe for XBOX or PS, but Links 2003 for the PC is still the best even after all these years.

This review kinda misses the point of the game mechanics. It is deliberately designed so that you can't hit the ball exactly where you want to each time (as in real golf). And if you do go into hazards you are punished accordingly - it's a bit ridiculous to complain that you can't hit your 3 iron well out of the heavy rough or that you *only* make 150 yards out of a bunker. Also, your player isn't quite up to PGA Tour standards - otherwise he would be regularly hitting 350 yards off the tee rather than the 265 yards. So it makes sense that you're limited in how well you can play. I completely agree about the tournament mechanics though and some of the basic missing features.

After Math Depends how bad the rough is and the lie. I'm a shit amateur golfer and can't even hit anything lower than a 7 iron out of bad rough.

I bought this the first day i could on Steam. Enjoyed it, poorly optimized as it is and designed a very personal 9 hole course im still proud of even though 10 people played it ever. Looks like crap graphically watching it here again. No desire to play it again tho it isn't bad, it's very rough on the eyes and presentation wise like a college project slicked over. Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf. Like a fine wine it's value increases with age

The Golf Club 2 is very good

You need to modify shots with spin rather than adjust your swing

Yeah you just modify the height. Higher to get more spin lower for less. I love that mechanic

It is a good game and I have them all, but nothing is better overall than the Tiger Woods series. Especially TW 2004-2008 for the PC. All the TW were great on the PS3 as well. Links 2003 is next and Hot Shots Golf. But TGC looks great and is still improving. TW had it all, Tiger Woods, many other PGA Tour pro's, sponsorship logos and clothes, gameface, great head to head online play, tournies, Country Clubs, great graphics and a slight cartoon look but still gorgeous, great gameplay and swing mechanics for True Swing, great lobby, reward tokens, ratings, many camera angles, galleries, and so much more. TGC may be close to all that one day, or TGC2. So it is up there. I love the older games as well and Mario Golf. I even still play PGA Tour from 1990 occasionally. But the best is the PC series followed by PS3. The new RM one for the PS4 was not good and was 25% of a game that was not finished. Great graphics but way too limited in everything else. Shame they shut down online play for the PC and all the older games as it was the best online golf game ever made and still is. Console games are OK and better than nothing though. I hope TGC2 is better than one was for PC.

Wow, you cints must of missed out on Neo Turf Masters. That truly is the best golf game of all time. I have tried out all the new ones but still waiting on some cint to better it, nae irony, love fae Scotland (Leith Links) the real home of Golf.

No it's not the best ever. They completely neglected to support multiplayer. Their multiplayer is terrible. Maybe they can charge us another $50 and then add multiplayer in The Golf Club 2. I can't wait

Perfect Golf. Im spikel on WGT, if you look at my profile there ive been a member since 2007. WGT is shit.

You better get a good CPU because it runs like crap on systems that aren't that stout even with the graphics toned down.

This game is meant to set the playing field evenly. Not so you can play for 80 hours and get a shitload of power ups. Get good.

Does not seem like you have played real golf...

The Trash Club blows goats. Perfect Golf is light years better.

hitting the green from a bunker does not happen much in real life either

Disagreed, the lip of the sand trap has much more to do than the sand trap itself. A fairway trap that is. Otherwise, like you, I find a lot of comments being ignorant in this review: like complaining for distance meter according to elevation, wind, and lie. Just strip this out of golf and it is now mini-putt... Lol!

This is hands down the Worst golf game I've ever the displeasure of playing. Never have I been more fustrated playing a game. There is nothing to do but point and shoot. And the lack of power meter is sickening. Having played this for a week solid I can clearly say This is the minesweeper of golf games. 0.3 /10
