I feel like the first 2 had a story to tell and they told it beautifully. A new entry would be better than nothing, but if I had a choice, I’d rather have a crazy remastered version of the first 2 reimagined for new consoles. Maybe add a few new features like new djinn, new moves, new items and weapons, some type of multiplayer. I’d love to see a new world map view with more detail and areas. But most of all, the story and the music should remain intact. If I ever become a millionaire, I’ll pay how ever much to have it made lol

Really want a Golden Sun x Shining Force crossover, but I'm not sure Camelot would be willing to work with Sega or vice versa. Shining in the Golden Sun tho.

Not a year goes by that I don't hope for a new entry, or if anything, a remaster of the first two games. Hopefully one day we'll all get one of these.

@@Roggie249 I'm still extremely hyped and will he playing them day 1 on NSO. Although I fully agree, I really do wish that they were remasters that you were actually able to buy. You know what tho? We'll take what we can get! I hope Camelot has noticed the amazing amount of views on the NSO trailer for the games. It's clear as day that all of us fans are still here 👍

I'm still a little sad that Isaac was never added to Smash Bros. as a playable character. With the Advance Wars remake coming out soon, maybe we'll get a remake for the Switch.

Golden sun was my first game boy advance game and I fell in love instantly. Couldn’t wait for the next two entries. I’m saddened that they haven’t done anything else since.

I hate Dark Dawn. I think it ruined the franchise. At this point I would be happy if a 4th game doesn't exist. Dark psynergy is such a cringey concept. They seriously couldn't think of a more interesting plot than evil vs good energy ?

I'd literally cry if they did GS4, I loved the whole series and the third game was really ambigous at the end, aside from the whole black holes Thanks for the video, it was incredible to see my favorite RPG have some love.

​@@covershopkidthe black holes were psynergy vortexes sucking psynergy from the world or something which was made into a huge deal at the very start and very end of the game... 9/10 of the game ignored their very existence despite being a "very pressing issue to resolve" lol

Camelot updated their website not too long ago to include HD art of Isaac and the Djin for game development and also added a recruitment page for rpgs too!

Oh it hurts. I love this game in ways I can’t describe. No one knows about it, people think it’s just a generic JRPG, and the series is dead. If I could have one wish in the whole world, it would be to continue the series. Every year I pray for a new game, a movie, a board game, a show, a book, anything!

My hope is that they remake the first two games into one big game on the switch, and at the same time release golden sun 4. Then I feel like I’d be happy with the series ending hopefully lol

Either they work on the remake or the sequel, ain't no way these companies would make 2 releases. Unless everyone wanna have the developers rush on it and end up having a similar impression as how Pokémon games get new releases...except everyone buys Pokémon and so they don't even bother.

While I like the 2.5HD system, I would prefer an approach that is in the same spirit of the orginal single but now highly detailed hand crafted pixel art background scrolling around and up and down depending on the camera veiw. 2.5HD isn't likely to be able to pull that effect off well. Since a more isometric angle is needed at all times to help show the voxel depth. And that studio is working on 2 games currently.

Golden sun, Is such an underated series... The first one I played, was the third for Ds and I loved it, but somehow ppl didn't like it that much, then I got and played the first, enjoyed it, still missing the second to finish. XD

I like to hurt myself by watching videos and reading articles about a possible sequel for Golden Sun

These are all very interesting facts, the most interesting was how Camelot worked on Shining Force before moving on to Golden Sun, it kinda sucks they’re mostly used for developing Mario Tennis Games.

There's even a shining force reference in one of the games. You can mind read a sleeping woman and she goes: "Eyes...Shining in the Darkness...Go away!" But yeah, Mario Tennis sucks.

It's interesting how after all this time, there's still incentive to produce those spinoffs. Them and Genius Sonority are some of the most swuandered studios out there nowadays.

I’d buy a remastered version of both on switch. Make it happen Nintendo🥺

This brings back memories, playing around with different Djinn combinations to get different animation sequences.

Dude, that Dark Dawn ending wasn't "ambiguous". That was a big fat cliffhanger and we're still being left hanging.

Nice job on the vid, Maker! Also, nice job on the Legend of Dragoon vid! Both of those games were/are awesome!

Man this game was way ahead of its time

I grew up on Golden Sun! It was one of the first games I ever bought for my GBA, and as soon as I beat it, I rushed out to get the sequel. When the third one came out on the DS, it was one of the few games I bought brand new on the release day. My only complaint with the first two games was that the dialogue scenes were WAY too long. I dreaded dieing against a boss, as it usually meant thirty minutes of tapping the "A" button thru the long winded dialogue.

Thank you, so very much for making a video spotlighting Golden Sun, still have my hopes up for a fourth, I'd love to see the next part of the story

this and legend of dragoon... will always be a part of me till i die. hope they remake both.

I guess sleep can wait. Hahaha

If golden sun ever gets continued then... I'm so happy that I'm speechless

they should reboot the game series, with entire isaac mode covering Mercury, Venus and Jupier lighthouses from their point of view(yes you get to contigo with isaac parties and see the events from their points of view) AND Felix mode where you do first 3 lighthouses INCLUDING Mercury and Venus from their point of view and the obvious Jupiter Lighthouse, Saturos and Menardi kidnaps Sheba early in the story so u can play as Felix, Jenna Sheba and Alex, Alex leaves your party towards end of Venus Lighthouse and Piers takes over as water adept and his lvl and stats are transfered to piers would be a good Fix. Then once completing both modes you can continue to the last light house with both parties.

Honestly, I would love to see this made into an anime.

I’ve thought about these games at least once a year since they released. So good.

Golden sun is 1 of my favorite games and my favorite game on gba. Imagine we got a remake with new graphics and voice acting.

The clocktower idea was AWESOME... the first time they did it. Slap psynergy was really stupid, I mean, statues were given big clown noses? Please give us more!

Don’t forget the third game released like a konth and a half before the 3ds came out. No games in the dying ds cycle broke one million besides Pokemon, which by name alone sells.

This game was INSANELY IMMERSIVE so hard to find nowadays

Holy shit knowing of the sanctum trick would have been so useful when i nearly softlocked myself on that shipride with the kraken boss fight

This makes me want to get out my GBA and play through the 2 books for the thousandth time.

Ahh, you didn't go into any detail regarding basically anything from Golden Sun Dark Dawn. Would have been nice to mention things like the Crystallux summon originally being from a Golden Sun advert. Or regarding the glitches, the infamous "Endless Wall glitch" where you save and reload while standing on a specific pixel of the overworld.

The third game also released on a dying ds cycle, which was around a month and a half before the 3ds was released. No games around that time broke a million sales. Golden Sun dark dawn still made profit despite being so late in the ds cycle and having nearly nonexistent marketing.

at this point my daily routine is pretty clear: go to work, eat, sleep and look for Golden Sun news... rinse and repeat.

Thanks. I was experimenting with the transitions and I think I like them as well. The outro was just something I commissioned that I thought was cool. The only accurate part was me in front of my monitors. I am a happily single man, but I am still a man, haha. :) And no dog either, but I look forward to getting one when I get into my new place after Christmas (where I can also begin to narrate videos again). It was kind of just me envisioning the life I am working towards. Thanks for the engagement! 🥂

The fucking music of this game will forever haunt my memories

Something not mentioned is that the battle themes, done by Motoi Sakuraba, are progressive rock. They feature unusual and changing time signatures, typical of the genre but quite unique to RPGs, the GBA, or even video games in general. Sakuraba has a prog album called Gikyokuanso with some songs having a very Golden Sun vibe (without the GBA's compressed sound).

I prefer the terms "protagonist" and "antagonist". In the first game, Isaac and company are chasing Saturos and company. Saturos is trying to save the world. Isaac is trying to stop them. Saturos employs questionable means to accomplish his ends. Isaac isn't fully aware of the state of the world.

Saturos never minds to save the world : he just wanted dominate the world with the energy of the golden sun... He is not a good guy at all. He can kill with no sorrow when he wants something.

10:00 would you believe there's a reference to "I would walk 500 miles" by The Proclaimers in The Lost Age? It happens in Alhafra when the folks from Madra make it there. The old man in the group goes "I feel like I've walked five-hundred miles... ... I'm fine though. I feel like I could walk 500 more!" Keep in mind this was years before Marshall from how I met your mother got the song to re-enter the mainstream consciousness.

Loved this game as a kid after my love for FF7. I need more!

Golden sun, lufia, and ff tactics….. the holy trinity of games that need remasters, reboots, and sequels.

Its my dream now that they either make a Golden sun 4, or remaster the first two in a style similar to octopath. Octopath's art style is great with maybe too much focus on glittery things. But I think the style as a whole would bode very well for golden sun. I pray we get some revival of the series at the very least

I have a feeling if they went down the N64 path. It would have single handedly saved the console from losing to the PS1. (Either that or it could've faded into relative obscurity just like other N64 titles.) but either way, it would have been interesting to see given it's more powerful hardware and lack of RPGs.

It wasn't worth the risk. Dark dawn fell off because it was a dying console as well and it didn't live upto the previous ones. I don't know why they did that mistake despite completely knowing all of it.

Was there an animated series made of this?!? What were the clips at the very beginning from?

I really enjoy your content. You choose some of the great RPGs to cover. I usually learn something new every video. I'm confused though why you sound like a robot or virtual assistant reading the script. Not trying to be mean, is this purposeful?

Thank you. I use an artificial speech generator that synthesizes my voice. I can't currently record at this time so it's my best option for creating content. I will resume recording the narration myself soon.

Uhhh is nobody going to mention that you are playing as the bad guys in the first game? And the good guys in the second? Or how the “alternate ending” is likely a lie?

GOLDEN SUN FOR SWITCH WHEN?!

I think it’s really cool that the Mountain at the beginning is called Mount Aleph; Aleph is the first character of the Arabic alphabet. Also, the overt reference to Djinn is really cool. Djinn are talked about in the Qur’an. I have not played the game since I was a kid, so I am fuzzy on the story, but I’d be curious to see if there are more Arabic/Qur’anic references.

This game had one of the best soundtracks

It's because he is using a text to speech program. I guess it was easier to TTS your own voice and just plop your scripts into its feed than to just read them himself.
