    The golden plate and the big "dish" (which was not included in the video, I think) indicate that the people back then were familiar with complex mathematics. BTW gold was used for decorative purposes mainly. Salt had a lot more value and was the prime currency because it is essential for preserving food and holding cattle in general. So the salt production facility by the town of Provadia, which is near Varna, is probably a more important ancient site. It is surrounded by the oldest stone fortress in Europe.

    The gold came from the mines near by sity of Stara Zagora.

    @@huskytail These mines are north of Stara Zagora, in a mountain that is now called Sredna Gora. They represent "holes" in the ground and there are many preserved.

    Yes, it's just for museum display of parts in correct orientation. Likely glass as that's a fairly inert substance.
