I've been in construction for a few years, this is my first time to see how a slump test is done!!

When you switch banks they have the current account switching service which will handle the switching over of bank balance, direct debits, standing order, bill payments, etc. They also make sure that if any money is paid into your old account they will redirect it to your new account however if you decide to do the transfer yourself you will face the issues you mentioned.

@@HugoDenbyMann it does but maybe the size of the turnover and number of employees may be an issue but if a company wants the business they will support as much as they need to in order to make it happen

@ashville , please re-assess the tank on the block with the pointy tip at the top. You may need to pour a slab of concrete on top to flatten it. Water tanks don’t like to sit on uneven surfaces. Thank you.

Set up a NAS at one of your buddies offices and have it remote synching. Sure your computer wizz guys will be able to sort out. Basically so you have the master & copy at the site and an offsite backup too.

@21:21 Isn't that tank hanging over the lip a little a safety concern? Not certain if the structure is different, but when I have worked with smaller tanks, the structure hasn't been considered strong enough to hold itself up when filled with water over time.

Cloud Backup solutions are always expensive, especially when working with big media files. figure out if you need your data to be backed up to the cloud or if you just need an offsite backup solution like tape storage or running a Storage server at home.

Another very enjoyable "weekly" update. Caught the bit right at the end where Daniel mentioned that his flying lesson was cancelled,due to lack of availability of his preferred instructor.I just wondered if it happens again if he had thought about trying his hand at flying a glider,possibly even a motor glider.Having watched quite a few episodes of "weekly" I know that he likes if possible to be prepared for all eventualities,which is the reason for my suggestion. When I was doing my flying training it dawned on me that in the event of an engine failure,whilst solo,I wanted to think that I could handle the situation.Hence I switched over to gliders for a while. I was also lucky enough to get to go along as a passenger in a privately owned motor glider on quite a few occassions.The advantage of this aircraft is that you can transission from powered to non powered flight in mid air,hence it gets you used to what would otherwise be quite a shock.

It really annoys me how companies want the customer to do all their customer service themselves, doesn't help out humankind in the long run, there has got to be a better balance! For the little people like me it is even going to restaurant's and having to download an app so I can order my own food instead of speaking to a waiter or waitress. So it must be incredibly frustrating for big businesses right find it difficult interacting with their own bank! Love the singing phone calls!! 😂 Also love watching the block walls being built!

Daniel the bathroom with the pink colored tiles reminded me for some reason of sliced deli ham. As for your cloud storage problem have you tried setting up your own NAS server? Maybe compare the cost of cloud vs maintaining your own in house data storage.

I was thinking the same. All he needs is a duplicate NAS at some secondary site like his home. I believe we used to get our CFO to take a daily cart home each evening but it could be any trusted officer of the organization. This way you own all the physical means and aren't subject to fluctuating costs.

I would recommend you have an induction pack for all new starters rather than customise it every single time. Also, would be good to have orientation with Ashville information about when the company started, what the company does, the team and some of the clients. The orientation should also include your missions and values so they know from day 1. Great idea about sitting with new hires, this should be a standard anyway to reinforce the great culture you have. Let me know if I can be of assistance here as HR is my specialty.
